Some of the food was very good and some was fair. Duck meatballs very salty, gristle in my chicken wild rice soup. Too much green goddess on the Bibb salad but the crab appetizer was fabulous. Might be awhile before or if I go back. Very disappointing.
The six of us had an awesome time! The noise level was high.
We were seated quickly. The server was friendly and our food was prompt. We started with the cream biscuits and they were deliciously large so we weren't as hungry as we should have been for lunch. We had two preteens and two adults and didn't finish our food since their serving size is generous. I love their fried chicken!
Second time coming and it was quite an enjoyable experience. I don't really remember the first time. The bartender made me a delicious mocktail, the server was attentive and helpful. The food was amazing! So much flavor and everything was cooked perfectly. Certainly worth the time and money, highly recommended.
Delicious Brunch meal with excellent service.
Excellent service, fantastic food - looking forward to going back!
We had the challah French toast, the breakfast fried chicken, and the dinner fried chicken that we shared among three. Everything was delicious. There wasn’t even a so-so item on our plates! The French bread wasn’t too sweet, and the whipped cream had something tangy (crème fraîche? yogurt?) in it that made it so much better than plain whipped cream. Chicken was crispy and flavorful, not over cooked. I wish I had a whole order of just collard greens, because it was so good!
While our server was lovely, the only bummer thing was that I made a reservation for 10:30 and still had to wait for our table about 15-20 minutes.
Amazing food great service! Such a great time with out friends. I want to try brunch sometime. I bet it’s amazing too!!
Love the food always! We celebrated my best friend's birthday on a busy night and everything was delicious!
Dinner was delicious. It was a little cold in the restaurant but warmed up after a while. The deviled eggs are to die for!! They are not your grandmas!! We had the chicken and the whole hog. Everything was wonderful. The prices were great and will definitely be coming back
We were a party of 4. Servicer was nice, but rushed and inattentive. 3/4 of us thought Pecan rolls were delicious, 1 thought too sweet. My oldest kiddos grilled cheese was burned & cheese not melted. Eggs Benedict with sweet biscuits not a hit with my son, he prefers savory. My daughter loved her biscuits, but not the gravy. My dinner style fried chicken came with all dark meat, greens were delicious, mashed pots pretty good. Chicken breasts ordered on the side were delicious. I do appreciate the manager discounted the grilled cheese and gave me a chicken breast to go as it was left out if my meal. But it was over all disappointing for a $100 meal. If we go back we will order sides of chicken breasts, biscuits, and greens.
Never a disappointment best breakfast in Portland!
Our server was amazing and food was delicious
Outstanding service, delicious food (although the wedge salad is not really a wedge salad, I would avoid that one....), and fun atmosphere. The wine pours are very generous, in case you are interested in that! It is a noisy, bustling place but lots of fun.
Brunch for a birthday group. We had to add a last minute attendee and the staff was very accommodating. Our server, Shelby, was extremely efficient and very friendly. Never made us feel rushed even though it was a busy time. She did an outstanding job. The fried chicken brunch dish with spoonbread was heavenly. Everyone was happy!
Had a very nice dinner at Country Cat. Our server was attentive, the atmosphere was lively (but not noisy), and the food was all around delicious. Would definitely go back again for dinner.
Wanted to say thank you to Country Cat and share what was an awesome experience. I wanted to get a few friends together for a quick birthday dinner preceding a night of dancing and fun. We reserved a table of 8, but 2 different people canceled at the last minute, and not everyone was perfectly on time. We had vegans and vegetarians on our party. I don’t think we were a party from hell by a long shot, but we were definitely a little more involved from a service standpoint. The staff at Country Cat didn’t seem to hold it against us. The service was friendly and quick and this made for a very enjoyable night for us. Thank you thank you and thank you..can’t tell you how much I appreciate the way we were treated. (Oh and of course the food and drink were stellar - that’s always a given here..) :)
Manages to be a very nice special occasion place and very informal at the same time. Avoids the new uber-hip conformist inner Portland feel- something more genuine. We had the salmon. Portland has lots of salmon. This was special. Help was perfect, and friendly. We'll be back.
Great breakfast , reasonably priced , large servings, good service. Minor complaint is it is very noisy.
We went there and 4 out of 5 of us ordered something different. Everyone really loved what they got. We are looking forward to checking them out again.
always great atmosphere, service and food. fantastic menu always! thank you~!!!!!!
Have been many times and the food always great . 5 fried chicken dinners and on 'whole hog which are the features and never appoint .. go often !
It's always a fantastic experience. This time, we brought a group of 6 and the food, service, & cocktails were perfect.
As always, The Country Cat doesn’t disappoint! I brought friends who are gluten free, and they were able to find amazing food and experience even without the fried chicken! Family friendly, and great service—and the mimosas don’t disappoint.
Our brunch was fabulous!! Food, service and atmosphere !! Can’t wait to go back!!
Best pancakes and such s great breakfast our family fav
The Bloody Mary was great, the food, meh. The Home Fries were over seasoned, what's with ALL the salt? The Corned Beef Bennie was lacking in corned beef, a very thin layer under a lemon hollandaise that was not that tasty. The Pork Chili and Grits were the one saving grace. The chili was smokey and the grits creamy and buttery. We'll give it another go as we always give a restaurant at least 3 tries.
Great food and service!
Together for New year’s at the delish Country Cat!
I would suggest making reservations as there were several people waiting. Food is amazing and portions just right!
The noise level is very high! However, I’ll happily deal with it to eat food this good! My brunch of fried chicken, spoon bread and salad was delicious. I’ve never had a bad meal here.
Loved the food! Great service!
Food is great! Reservation for 10 at 1:30, seated at 1:50, no room to wait inside.
Really unique and creative menu. Lots of options for all eaters. Great table in the window. Awesome service from the staff. Food was delicious, we all cleaned out plates. Had the veggie crepes, super yummy. Love this place for brunch as well.
This is a great place to eat. We had reservations right at opening, they filled up pretty fast. Service was fast and attentive. Our waitress was really nice. Food was really good but a little too salty for the family.
Would I go back? Definitely ! Just have to choose less salty food.
The Country Cat was purrfect for a work reunion breakfast. Seven colleagues gathered for breakfast for the first time in five years. The food, service and atmosphere were outstanding. I reserved our table through OpenTable, and it was flawless. Thank you.
This is the 5th Christmas Eve brunch at the country cat. The food and service keep us coming back and we will plan to return next year.
I have come here for brunch and lunch before, and I am always excited to treat out of town guests to the experience. This was Christmas Eve-Eve dinner, and everyone at the table was amazed at the warmth of the staff, the quality of the food, the diversity of the menu, and the terrific service. I will continue to bring friends and family here often.
The food and service were great! I especially liked the Brussels sprouts and I heard good things about the chicken and salmon too. Unfortunately it was cold and drafty near the windows, and when we got up to leave we could hardly walk from being in the hard uncomfortable booth benches. Guys, think about double glazing and bench cushions!
