We went to the Cottage for my parents wedding anniversary- the staff was very welcoming and kind. We got free champagne! The menu does not have too much variety but I would still recommend going here.

We were there for brunch. The service was excellent: friendly and attentive to just the right degree. We both had the lobster eggs Benedict. It was delicious, with a sauce slightly different from classic hollandaise, and better. When our plates arrived, we both found that the eggs were over-cooked. Our server did not have to be asked to return them to the kitchen for new eggs. They were perfect on the second try. My husband loved his blueberry pisco cocktail. As a wine geek, the wine by the glass selection weighs heavily in my opinion of any restaurant. The Cottage did not disappoint on that score. Their selection is comprehensive and very well chosen, IMO.
I look forward to returning to further explore the menu, including the wine by the bottle list.

This was the first time I was at “The Cottage” for Sunday Brunch (my dinner experience at the place has been very good). For appetizers, three of us shared “Deviled Egg” and “Cottage Bakery Board”. Both were quite good. Among the ‘Mains’, the quality of “Cottage Burger” was very good and it was good - sized. “Chocolate Pudding” dessert was very tasty. Good cappuccino. Overall, very good food and good value in a friendly, informal atmosphere.

I would definitely recommend The Cottage to a friend! I loved that the wait staff all wore plaid flannel shirts in muted fall colors - what a clever idea! Also, The Cottage uses old-fashioned thin and very soft dish towels for napkins - very cool! But most importantly, the vegetarian options were excellent. And our waitress offered to have some dinner options prepared without meat. The wait staff checked on us - just enough, so we were never left without drinks! The food was prepared with some very delicate flavors. I really had an excellent dining experience.

Food was exquisite! Wait staff gave us good reccos. The Foie Gras was Outstanding
- what a glorious mix of textures and tastes! Everyone was happy with their choices. Only downside is the tininess of the space and how youre always being bumped and jostled. But still worth it for sure

Between the speedy service, friendly staff, and delicious food I highly recommend The Cottage! We sat at the Chef's Counter which was a fun experience seeing all the beautiful plates come out of the kitchen. I appreciated how relaxed and friendly the staff was despite how packed the restaurant was. It was awesome to see how seamless their service was. Each bite was uniquely decadent - I'd love to come back to try more!

Just wonderful food. The attention to the product and the preparation and knowledgeable staff makes this a great experience. We absolutely fell in love with the Cottage. Drew was our server, and could not have done more to make us welcome.

Wonderful food; creative and delicious. Drinks were excellent as well. Only negative was the dessert. Preferring fruit to chocolate, we ordered the huckleberry tart. It was tasteless. I don't like things too sweet. This was so UN-sweet that I felt that I needed something more when finished. When I got home, I had some ice cream!
We shall return. My husband's choices were the pate and the pork belly. Mine were the crab toast and halibut. I wish there were more veggies on the side of the halibut but all was delicious. Our server was very good as well.

We have dined at Cottage many times. The service has always been excellent. The menu is creative and delicious. That's why we kept coming back. On this last dinner though, the roast pork and the halibut were both overcooked. The foie gras was excellently prepared, but the portions were so small that they were no more than a forkful. We hope that this was an off night. We will try it again to see if this was an aberration or a new trend.

Hard to believe this place is rated a 4.8. The service was pretty good, but the food was mediocre. It struck us as another Fairfield County restaurant featuring NYC pricing without NYC quality.

The porcini mushroom salad was greasy and bland. Far over-dressed and tasting like mayonnaise. The Wagyu brisket steam buns weren't bad, but it must be assembled by the diner, so it is guesswork which and how much of the sauces to use. In the end, my wife never achieved a flavor profile that she thought was especially good. The "Local Pig Roasted with Juniper and Thyme" was also bland and quite fatty. It was much better with the addition of some salt and pepper -- but these were available only on request, and even then the pepper must be applied by the server.

It is worth noting that there are no greens whatsoever on the dinner menu. There is no salad with any greens, no main course with greens, and no sides available. Considering how greasy / fatty my appetizer and main dish were, this makes the place seem absolutely unhealthy. (On top of that, they serve the Wagyu Bun with what even our server said amounts to a huge french fry.)

The dining room is small and was fairly crowded, with no sound absorption at all, making it necessary to almost shout across the table to hear one another.

The one positive is that the portions were not oversized. In an age when even high-end restaurants increasingly supersize, this was nice to see.

Overall, would not come back here, but again should reiterate that the service was good.

The food at The Cottage is adventurous, delicious, different, memorable--so much so that a review doesn't convey what a different experience this is. The food is spiced differently (not spicy), with different herbs, oils, flavors. Chef Brian Lewis is at the top of his game, and he makes it look easy as well.

We loooove The Cottage! Five stars on food service and ambiance. If you drink alcohol the bartender creates very clever and delicious drinks as well. Nice enough for special occasions and everyday dining. sit at the counter for special views into the kitchens
