I usually like this restaurant but I dont know if they were understaffed or what but the food took a long time to come out and all of our fish seemed to be dry and overcooked. I will try it again as this may have been just a problem one night--I hope it is better next time.

I've gone here twice for lunch and the portions are really small. Yesterday, I had a salad with greens, goat cheese, chicken and peppers, that's it. Couldn't they put in some cucumber or tomatoes or carrots or something. I ate an apple when I got back to my desk. Same thing with the crab and shrimp salad, tasty but just not enough food. For the price, you should get more to eat, and more ingredients in a salad.

Wonderful, fresh food, and a great menu. Our waiter, Forrest, was very attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. There were so many great choices, I look forward to going back and trying other items. I had the crab and shrimp salad, and thought it was terrific.

Another fine dining experience. One of our party is gluten intolerant, and their menu choices and accomodations to change as well as there excellent gluten free bread made her experience equally delightful. This has quickly become one of our favorite spots.

I enjoyed the sweet potato encrusted cod...was looking for something spicier and the waiter told me the dish had a kick. It didn't, but our server (John) brought me a side of siracha without me even asking. Kudos to him for listening to me. My gal friend and I enjoyed the ambiance (a true cottage feel with blue, white and sand decor), the food and our wine selections. Perhaps a bit overpriced for a strip mall location, but a welcome change of scenery from the rest of Route 9. I would go again, especially for a lunch date.

Food was excellent. Waitress very attentive at first but wish I had been asked for a wine refill before the end of my meal. Also, water not refilled throughout meal.

Always enjoy eating at the Cottage. Food was very good-had salmon which was a new item on the menu. Wished the three variety mashed potato was still available. Desert excellent - the chocolate cake.

I have not dined on a Friday evening before and found it noisier than usual with loud music.

I've been to both locations of The Cottage and have had a great dining experience each time. The food is very good and the menu is imaginative. I would recommend highly for a fun and relaxing evening.

I have been to this restaurant twice. The food has been delicious both times, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. The second time I ate there I was with two other people. Two of us received our entrees at the same time. It took another ten minutes to make eye contact with any member of the waitstaff to ask for our waitress. Once our waitress finally came to the table and realized that we were still waiting for the third entree, she was quick to bring out the missing meal but never offered an apology for the delay. As I said, the food is great. I will most likely eat at The Cottage in the future, but I have very low expectations for the service.

It was noisy you do not allow for this classification
We could not hear over the people at the next table

Also we felt a little rushed. Yes I know the table has to turn over but the waitress should have been less invasive and less frequent considering the number of empty tables. This is not a place for a discussion lunch

The food was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly. The only reasons that I did not give this restaurant five stars are because our waitress seemed bored to be at work and the restaurant is incredibly noisy.

The Cottage in Chestnut Hill has declined since it was first opened. They have been making changes to the menu and it doesn't seem to be for the better. They had wonderful, fresh flavorful food when they opened. We had the brick chicken that was wonderful originally this time it wasn't. Even mashed potatoes where a mix of different potatoes, this time just white potatoes. Tortilla soup was very salty and had chips in it last time it had strips of actual tortillas. Crab cakes while still filled with crab meat, a plus, lacked flavor. Even the garlic aoili was bland. Server was great helping us select wine. Brought us a sampling of whites. Ordered a $12 bottle for $30 on the menu.Hostess misreprented the wait time when we rejected table by door.
