The Copper Hen
Food was amazing, service was very poor. Host was extremely rude when we showed up a few minutes late for our reservation. We were celebrating, which we mentioned in the special request of the reservation that it was a bridal shower, and the server didn’t even acknowledge it once. Sat at our table for over 20 mins after arriving before they even came to take our drink order. Then made us feel rushed to leave. The seats at the table were so close to one another that you couldn’t even cut your food without elbowing everyone on either side of you. The table behind our table was so close to us that they had to get out of their chairs and move just so we could get up to use the restroom and vice versa.
Food was great. Wait staff and management made sure things were done as we asked.
We celebrated a friends birthday with a Sunday Brunch. First time there for three of the four of us and we all really liked it. Service by Tyler was awesome, very professional. And the bottomless Mimosa's are fabulous! Would definitely go back again.
LOVE the food here and the wait staff is nice. It is really loud though so hard to have a conversation with folks... Minor inconvenience.
I normally love Copper Hen, but we had a mediocre experience at a recent brunch. Service was slow (It was really busy), our server was forgetful, and most of all our burgers were a real disappointment. I ordered the GF bun, which had the consistency of dry cornbread. (With so many great bakers making GF products in town, it's curious why a place has to "make their own" so poorly.) The burgers could have been juicer. I'll go back for my favorite salad, but will think twice about this as a brunch option and will hold out for burgers elsewhere.
Very good food! Sat outside because it was too noisy inside. Service was slow and spotty. Will return for a second try.
Great food, helpful friendly staff.
Great find! Terrific menu, with super fresh ingredients. Careful ordering the lobster fries as an app, they are super filling and may ruin your dessert! Can't wait to come back.
I love Copper Hen! The restaurant has such a cute atmosphere and the food is A-MAZ-ING. My best friend was in town for a conference with some coworkers, and I met up with them here for dinner one night. Everyone was SO happy with their meals and our server was so great.
Food service was really slow. My meal was warm (eggs Benedict) while my friend’s meal was warm. Just not as good as expected, since the last time I was there we had very good food and service.
I love copper hen! One of the best brunch spots in town. Farm to table menu, fantastic drinks. Highly recommend the mimosas (strong!) and the Bloody Mary (get it spicy!). Get reservations if you want to be seated quickly but I’ve brunched at the bar in a pinch!
Great find for brunch. Great space and the cakes look delicious. All the food was well-liked, couple of dishes weren't huge, but were filling enough.
It was a lovely afternoon for a birthday brunch!
Restaurant was too loud, couldn’t plan the birthday party my friends and I had gotten together to discuss. From the time we arrived to the time we got our food was 1 hour which was ridiculous. And we had a reservation. No one checked in to see how our food was or if we needed anything, i tried to flag someone down multiple times before getting someone to the table. If your brunches are that busy, hire more staff although I’m not sure they could fit nor if the place was even space wise to fire code. I WILL NOT recommend nor go back.
The food was great. Our GF friend loved her selection of GF french toast. Tyler was a fun and attentive server.
Food was AMAZING! Good coffee, staff was accommodating, and we will definitely be back.
This is such a cute little place. Food was great. Was disappointed in the service, which was unusual. Only about 2 tables (we were the first) in the restaurant and waited sooooooooooo long... she never really welcomed us, checked in, anything... I hope thats not the 'new thing' as the food was very good.
Great food. Took a long time to get food on a busy Sunday at noon. Very, very loud. We had a good time.
Very loud, good value and food was good not great.
This is my favorite place to bring a friend for brunch! The service and the food is always amazing and I LOVE the decor too!
It was busy during brunch so the waitress hardly visited our table. And it’s quite loud during busy hours. But the food was great!
Love this place!
All was good, except the noise level. We couldn’t carry on a conversation. With that caveat, I could recommend the restaurant, but I probably won’t return.
The server didn’t keep up with our coffee refills, and when we pointed out the fried egg still had clear gelatinous stuff on top her response was ‘I only gave two hands’ and she walked away? Now she did have plates from another table in her hands but it was an odd comment.
A supervisor did come fairly quickly to ask about the egg. She also seemed out off by us not liking the clear goo... she asked if we wanted well done. NO. Runny yolk is perfect but the white sb white not clear and gooey!?
We got a new egg but the poached egg on the Benedict was not runny and barely soft but we decided not to mention as they already didn’t seem pleased. The veg hash was mushy with no crisp at all.
We had to ask the hostess for coffee as we were empty several times for a long period.
In general nice vibe and pretty place. Food ok. Server seemed new or something. When we got the new egg from the supervisor she walked by quite a bit later and said “ya good?” And barely stopped. It seemed off...
Seems worth another chance and the place seemed busy and people seemed happy so perhaps our experience was an off one?
I've been to Copper Hen multiple times and their food is amazing, with their brunch offerings being my favorite! In general, I'd give Copper Hen a 4 star rating, while the food is absolutely stellar (I cannot rave enough), especially their cinnamon rolls, brunch tends to be extremely crowded and depending on where you're seated, it can be uncomfortable as tables have very little room between them. On my multiple visits during brunch and dinner, service is generally good despite the number of people. When I order their bottomless mimosas, I have never yet gotten to the bottom with their attentive refills throughout my meal. However, on my last visit, my wait for 2 scrambled eggs and a cinnamon roll took over 45 minutes which was really frustrating, although the waitress was kind enough to comp part of our bill for the wait which was appreciated. My biggest tip for coming here is to be sure to make a reservation, especially for brunch, otherwise you will be in for quite the wait! Overall, fantastic food and I will for sure be a repeat customer -- I wish they were open more during the week for dinner and lunch.
Amazing food and great atmosphere. A must go to when in the area again. The food was bursting with flavor.
I thought the décor was nice. While the omelet I had was good, the potatoes that came with the omelet were cold and very overdone. I left more than half of those on the plate. The noise level was a bit too loud for my taste. I will probably not go back there.
I like this place, it is very busy for brunch though. Be prepared to wait for some things from your server.
As always, yum
My only complaint is that there were lots of open seats but we were sat at the back near the service station. Not a big deal I’m sure they have good reason for it, just seemed odd. Favorite brunch in Minneapolis, if I want my last meal to be the farmers brunch.
Good, interesting, food; especially the dessert, and bakery, selection.
Friendly service and great food- i recommend the milk and honey bun cheeseburger and Lobster fries. I will make sure to order dessert next time I go as they looked delicious.
The food was average; breakfast potatoes were so good but my omelette was just average. I did try a muffin donut and it was AMAZING. Desserts looked really good. I wish I would have tried one.
Make a reservation because this restaurant is usually packed, and for good reason! I’ve been for brunch several times and for their Valentine’s Day 5 course meal and have never been disappointed. If you’re like me and can’t decide between a sweet or savory dish at brunch, order the Farmer’s Brunch because you get a little of both! The French toast melts in your mouth and the hash is so good. Also worth doing the bottomless mimosas!
Terrific food...very eclectic flavors blended into a fantastic meal. Loved everything about...so much so, I bought the cookbook!
Great location food was really good service was great
Taking the family here was worth it! We loved the experience and will for sure return! The starters took us for a surprise and was very big portions so we ended up splitting everything!
Server wasn’t around to refill mimosas much, for the 2.5 hours we were there I was only refilled twice. He was very kind though! Biscuits in the biscuits & gravy were very dry and a bit hard to eat, but the rest was delicious!
The Copper Hen never disappoints! The food is excellent, and the service good enough (considering it's always very busy). The noise level is high, so don't go if you're hoping for an intimate conversation. My only complaint on the food/bev is that the pre-mixed bottomless mimosas are too heavy on the OJ :)
The Copper Hen is a beautiful space but the food is so incredibly exceptional and simple. Their baked goods are enticing and delicious! I highly recommend coming here if you want amazing food a great space to catch up over food and drinks with friends.
I can’t say enough good things about the Copper Hen. Food, service, atmosphere was all wonderful.
