Cooper Hen was recommneded to me due to the bottomless Mimosas for Saturday brunch and I highly reccommend it for quality and taste of the food and drinks, great service and cozy ambiance.
We were there for brunch on Saturday. The food was delicious, but the service was very slow. We had reservations at noon, were seated at 12:30 and were served water at 1 p.m.. The noise level was nearly unbearable. I had a splitting headache by the time we got our food at about 1:15. I would love to go back for the food, but I don't think I could tolerate that noise level again. I have to say that I loved our waitress, she was very sweet.
Great food & ambiance! A little tight for a large group but still a great time!
What a great little restaurant! The menu was very unique. Meal was very flavorful. Highly recommend.
Amazing food and outstanding service!
Good food and service - portions were great.
Really loved this place! Great food and ambiance. I also like that they don't use plastic straws and that take away boxes are not plastic.
Loved it. We were there for a friend's birthday and they acknowledged it wonderfully and took great care of us. The food is excellent with lots of options even for me being gluten and dairy free plus we have a vegan in our group. They were awesome. We will definitely be back
The food was beautifully prepared and presented nicely.
The crispy skin recommended by waiter was very flavorful.
The Brussel sprout salad was very generous and the short
Ribs were done to perfection. We will go back
Great cocktails that pair well with delicious food!
My group had a great time celebrating my birthday at brunch. We all had bottomless mimosas and our waiter was very good at keeping our glasses full. They also gave me a free cupcake for my birthday that was delicious!
Very good experience. We spent a wonderful evening.
The food was outstanding albeit a little expensive. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive and we loved his attitude. We will definitely go again and would recommend you try it!
We have been here before and love the food. Last time it was for breakfast, this time for my birthday dinner. I noted the special dinner and they did nothing special for it. The Duck and Chicken was amazing along with my meal of the Hanger Steak Special. The Brussels Caesar Salad was lovely. The waitress was not great about coming back to fill waters or refill the coffee. Kim got my fathers order wrong. He ordered soup of the day with a Cheeseburger and added bacon. He received the Tomato soup and no bacon on his burger. When she finally came back to the table, Kim corrected the problem but did not seam sincere about the error. We had to ask for cream for the coffee also. Being a breakfast restaurant, you would think that they would know to refill coffee and cream. The coffee was bitter. We loved the meals and the soups and the salad. They ran out of cupcakes that was included in my dinner. There was three to choose from. It was just okay. The skillet cookie was good, nothing special. If you go get the Duck or Chrispy Chicken..They were to die for especially for the sauce on the chicken. I stilled tipped 20% because I am in the industry, but we would have tipped more if Kim was a better waitstaff. Maybe she was overwhelmed because they were busy when we got there and busy when we left.
We had a girls' brunch here and it was delicious. I love the fact they have bottomless mimosas and really good coffee. Also, the fact you can order a "big meal" and it still has normal person portion sizes, not some American-super-sized-nine-plate diner meal is awesome.
I'm glad we had reservations because the people who walked in were definitely waiting for a while.
The food and the service for brunch for our group was top notch. Wonderful experience across the board.
Delicious food and the service was friendly and fast. Very busy for brunch and I was glad we had reservations since it sounded like walk-ins had at least an hour wait for a table.
This was our family's second visit within a month.
The food was consistent and pleased everyone.
Our 13 year old daughter loved the atmosphere and food.
Our son enjoyed his steak dinner.
The service by Emily was excellent, very attentive.
We arrived at 5pm so it would not be so noisy.
Overall a very enjoyable dining experience to complement our visit to Mia.
Made reservations the week before and had an enjoyable experience. The con was that the tables were too close together, besides that our party of 5 had an exceptional dinner. Mutually, the group thought our waiter named Chris was phenomenal. He brought out lit cupcakes at the end of our time for the birthday. The ambiance and food were to match. This is a good place for a small group, getting inspired, or a sure winning date night...
We did Friday brunch Great service. Loved the food. Fresh and tasty. Will go back soon!
Great place! We ordered a birthday cake for the Birthday Guy and Chef Josh, himself, came out and cut the cake for us. Busy as they were, Chef Josh came back out and chatted with us for a long time. He is a fabulous guy and really put a personal touch on the evening! We will be back as well as seek out any new venues on the board! Thanks for the great evening!
Friendly wait staff, amazing salads and good flatbreads. Very quaint environment
Brunch was absolutely delicious! From the salad to the sticky buns, everything we put in our mouths was delightful. We enjoyed it so much, we bought their cookbook on the way out!
The only disappointment was our particular table... it was right in front of the door! It was freezing, and when I️ asked for any other table but this one, the waitress was curt and said people have reservations, so only if if you want to wait 45 minutes :/ I️ had had our reservations for over a month. Not the warm welcome I️ had expected from this precious, cozy restaurant.
The food is amazing. Just be sure to have a reservation for brunch. They are pretty busy on the weekends.
We thought the food was wonderful. Great waitstaff. Chef was very helpful and accommodating with gluten free options. Great place for Easter brunch.
We were there for Easter Sunday brunch buffet and the food was very over cooked, bland and tasteless with the exception of the duck hash. Over priced and under delivered. This was our first visit and would only hope the menu food is better.
Wow! This was the perfect spot of our family's Easter Brunch. Great variety of delicious items including the amazing duck hash and bread pudding French toast. Do not leave without tasting the donut muffins. The service was quick, welcoming, and efficient. We didn't wait or want for anything.
Excellent date night spot. Delicious unique food. Loaded lobster fries were amazing, didn’t really notice the lobster so if you can order wo they would still be fantastic. Had leftovers with eggs the next morning. We also tried the fig and pig flatbread and chicken pot pie. Both were great. Pecan cheesecake with caramel sauce was a win. Server was attentive and not hovering. Will be back with friends.
The food was ridiculously good and I just HAD to take home some cupcakes. Chris was awesome and worked really well in a dining room that was very full and packed arm to arm - but not overwhelming. The bloody hell had a fresh garnish of dill that was unexpected and I can't rave about it more!!!!!
Everyone was lovely and interested in making our experience enjoyable. The food was on point...we ordered the chicken pot pie, the steak special and an amazing burger...all plates were practically licked clean! Even when a salad was brought and we quickly realized we hadn’t specified the need for gluten free, our server happily and quickly replaced it!
Thanks Copper Hen!
Outstanding food and wonderful atmosphere. Will be back again
Get the bread pudding french toast-you won't regret it.
Lively, very loud, good food and service on a very busy Sunday afternoon
My 3 friends and I made a reservation for 10 am on Sunday. When we arrived our table was ready to go and waiting for us. I'm glad we had a reservation because it got busy in the following two hours. Yes we stayed 2 hours! We didn't feel rushed at all to leave the table, after our plates were taken and the bills were paid, we weren't visited by the waitress, asking if we wanted anything else (which to me usually is a sign of them telling you to leave) Right around the two hour mark, the host did come over and kindly told us that there was a 2 hour hold limit on the table, and we were right around that mark. She was nice about it and didn't make us feel bad about it.
As for the food, I got the farmhouse BELT and the side order of bread pudding french toast with cinnamon whipped cream. I was going to split the french toast with someone, but i'm so glad I didn't! It is the perfect portion to indulge and finish yourself. I am a huge fan of cinnamon, and the cinnamon whipped cream did not disappoint - it was amazing, I could've eaten a whole bowl of it. The BELT was also really good. The tarragon tomato aioli was an unexpected welcome sweetness, the over easy egg was cooked perfectly, and the toast it all rested on was the perfect level of toasted. The roasted potatoes which came with my open face sandwich were perfect, crispy and flavorful, I enjoyed them with the dipping sauce that accompanied them (not sure what it was.)
My only "complaint" is that the music was maybe a little too loud, and it made it hard to hear my friends talk.
The service was great, our waitress friendly and we didn't wait long at all for our food, or for our checks at the end. I have always wanted to visit the Copper Hen and i'm really happy I finally got to. I can't wait to go back and try more.
Love this place!! Amazing for brunch but you should make a reservation since they get super busy. Food is so good and original. They have a breakfast salad I could eat every day! Service has always been top notch even though they are usually busy. Sophie was our server during busy brunch and she went above and beyond! They make their own baked goods including gluten free cupcakes!! Can’t recommend enough but remember your reservations if you go for Sunday brunch!!
Excellent food, great drinks, and the cupcakes were delicious. Definitely will be going back again. Can't wait for the companion restaurant to open in Minnetonka!
Excellent food and service. Two of us shared a soup, a salad and the lamb sausage pizza. All very good but the pizza was outstanding and very inventive. It's a busy, noisy place. The small plates/large plates options allow you to order what you'd like. They encouraged sharing. We will definitely go back to try more menu items. Everything that went by looked delicious.
A few more food options would be nice. Also, I think the cocktails could be larger in size for the prize you pay for them. Next time I will skip the handcrafted cocktails as they were not worth the price.
Absolutely delicious and darling space! A very lively place - loud for brunch, and hopefully not as loud for an upcoming dinner?
My favorite spot in MN!
