The Copper Beech Inn
Too much noise from good small band. Service too friendly but good. Food of moderate quality perhaps trying too hard to be clever rather than just well prepared simply food.
Fantastic evening. We are never disappointed here. Great service, food is always cooked to our liking, the band was fun, just love it!
Fantastic food and service. Atmosphere was great. Loved the bread and entree's.
Mother’s Day Breakfast. They were preparing for a brunch that looked nice but they did not look after their morning customers. Service was poor. The menu was limited but good. Brunch started at 11:00 and would have been better.
Our waitress Arden was great!! Food was fabulous!!
Had a great meal and a great time. The staff is excellent and the live music was great!!!
Great night with friends could have been enhanced if our waitstaff had a clue!!!
The Copper Beech is our favorite place for special occassions as well as before the Ivoryton Play House performances.
Wonderful food. Beautiful spot.
Delicious apps & entrees! Fantastic service!! Wonderful anniversary evening!!!
5 star as always. We had specials tonight and they were both wonderful. Thanks for holding our favorite table Sam and giving us the best service. See you soon
We sat on the side porch area which was very nice. Enjoyed the music without it being too loud like it must have been in the pub. We tasted a lot of different items.
Steaks were cooked perfect, everyone's food was delicious, generous portions, almost everyone needed a "togo" container. Service was excellent, very attentive. The drinks and food were served in a timely fashion which isn't always easy with a large group. I didn't give full stars for Ambiance only because I/we prefer the Oak Room, bar and atrium areas to the main (formal) dining room, where we were seated to accommodate the large group and same day reservation, which we were very thankful for. The main dining room is beautiful though, perfect for formal events.
Last minute idea to dine out tonight. Our regular table was occupied so we sat out in the sun room, so pretty and romantic as the night got darker. 5 stars tonight but then again you never let us down. Thanks to the chef and Sam for a wonderful night!
Unfortunately the main dining room was being used for a memorial service (which we were not made aware of during the reservation processing) so we had to eat in the lounge area. It was our first time back in several years since we had become dissatisfied with the food. We were quite pleased with the menu and the quality of the meals. Our Server was friendly and although quite busy managed to provide us with decent service. The entertainment was excellent. We will return and hopefully dine in the main dining room!
great old restaurant with very good seating, especially in the oak room. the seating near the bar area can be a little noisy, but in the room off the bar area the noise level is non existant. service always great. kind of limited menu
Very nice dinner. Menu had excellent choices and reasonable prices.
Food was great, great music later in the bar
We really wanted a reservation later than 7:00 but on Open Table they were not available. During our entire dining time well over 1/2 the tables were empty. Food was very good a little on the pricy side but not so far out of the window to be a big concern.
We had a wonderful night once again. Everything was outstanding, the food, wine, and dessert. Arden was such a pleasure to have you take care of us. Thanks again for everything
We had 2 tables of 6 The staff was very attentive service was excellent
We loved everything! Absolutely gorgeous place, phenomenal food, exceptional service!
This is one of our favorite places in Connecticut. If you would like a nice cozy place with good food this is the place. The service is great, the food is wonderful, and they have a very nice wine list. Welcoming large bar too. Thanks for a great night Sam. We will be back soon.
Our experience at the Copper Beech Inn was excellent!! The food and drinks were amazing, the service fantastic, our server Arden was also excellent, she made our dinner experience very enjoyable. I would recommend the Copper Beech Inn for dinner, or an over night stay, the Inn is beautiful. The grounds are also very lovely.
Romantic dining with soft lighting, live jazz trio playing appropriate dinner music far enough away in the bar, and a red rose on every table for the day after Valentine’s Day. The food was nothing special and not as I had come to expect from a visit 2 years prior. Service was good (There were bread plates set, and table next to us had bread basket, but we were not offered bread). Mainly it the entrees that missed the mark. Mine was roasted quarter chicken in a white bean, kale and tomato stew that missed the mark, with minimal kale and diced white winter tomato that added no flavor or color. Chicken had been roasted to a lovely crisp skin in the oven, but the quarter was a bit small. An easy, yet unexciting dish I could have made better at home. My husband’s sirloin steak was just ok. The large portabelllo mushroom that accompanied the steak was a nice touch, except that it was undercooked and therefore wet, chewy and tasted oddly vinegary. Again, a classic ingredient pairing not well executed. Desserts were good.
We visited as a party of 4 on Valentines Day and were very impressed with the restaurant. Onion soup was the best I have ever had! Surf and turf amazing. Bottled wine prices were very fair. I can’t wait to go back again!
Wonderful Valentine's day. Great bartender! Beautiful conversation with new friends and old friends.
Thank you kindly
Dee and me.
Valentine’s Day so kitchen got backed up. Our food came out tepid. Long wait between appetizers and main course.
Food was excellent and service outstanding
We come here every time we are in the area visiting
The Copper Beach is a favorite for special occassions
Hello. Our second time there as we enjoyed our first time. Our friend Chris was entertaining that night so that's also why we came down. Food was just ok this time. Burger was well done instead of medium as asked ...chicken was very dry and small...not even close to a 25 dollar value. The steak was cold by the time the rest of the food came out to all of us. We were comped drinks and one dry chicken meal so that was nice. Waiter was very accomidating and understanding. Still enjoyed ourselves all in all. Beautiful venue. Thanks.
Service could have been better. We had to ask a couple of times for things that should have been standard. We asked for a bottle of wine and had to wait an inordinate amount of time because the wine cellar was locked and they had to find the key. Not sure if this is standard practice, but it was a Saturday evening and it seemed like better planning could have been done.
The food was the biggest disappointment. We had to send 2 of the 3 appetizers back. The seared tuna was too smoky and the escargot was served with burnt garlic on one side of the dish and undercooked garlic on the other side. When the escargot was returned to the table, it looked like the burnt garlic was simply scraped off the plate and re-served. One of the main dishes included ravioli which did not taste freshly made and the sea scallops looked like overly browned marshmallows on one side and no color on the other side. Overall, a very unappealing dish.
Of importance to note, the restaurant was not crowded when we went so it is hard to understand the lack of attention to basic cooking skills. When we dine out, we like to get better food than what we can make at home. Sadly, this was a big disappointment because we definitely could have made all of these dishes better at home. We will not be returning and can not recommend this restaurant.
On the good side, once we received the bottle of wine, that was excellent.
Great go to place for lunch and dinner. Will be going again soon
5 STAR as always!!!! Wine-Food-Dessert outstanding once again. Loved the new Branzino on the menu. Thanks for always taking care of us Claudia, we will see you again soon.
We were there on New Years Eve for dinner. The ambience is just beautiful. The fireplaces, the decor all beautiful. The staff was very friendly. Our waiter was excellent and our dinner was delicious. Even on New Years Eve we never felt rushed. We did have a table in the bar area which would not be my choice in future. Now that I know the place. Made reservation on Open Table and did not request any special seating. It is noisier in the bar area. It was a fun atmosphere though. Great drinks too.
Had a wonderful experience staff was. Excellent! Especially.Arden and. Kristen
Wonderful. Place. Great food. Excellent staff. Especially . Arden Kristen . They are the best.
Went to this restaurant for Xmas eve. The 42.00 steaks were so tough barely edible. Lobster chowder was way too salty. Very disappointed especially it was highly recommended. Serve was soooooo slow
Lovely ambiance very festive Christmas Eve
Mouth watering food
Only downside was the risotto. I am frequently disappointed when a restaurant has risotto on the menu but doesn’t take the time to cook it right.
Itcwas very watery/thin and tasteless.
We had fried oysters, escargot, foie gras, salad, sirloin steak and scallops all were fantastic!
