Cute place and food was decent. Service was a little slow at times but over all would highly recommend and will be back.
The place is beautiful and classy. The food was really good and the service was great!
Beautifully decorated for Christmas and was the perfect atmosphere for a quiet, relaxing weekend visiting family and friends.
We had family friends visiting and we had dinner to celebrate. The service and food was excellent. The price was high but seemed comparable to other high end restaurants.
Excellent vodka martini and pear martini. Love the onion soup with ravioli. We were hesitant the first time we tried it but it is really good and we have it every time. Yummy steak frites and pork chop.
I've had in mind to go to the Copper Beech for years, and last night was the night. We were delighted. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was excellent. When you go to a place that has been around as long as the Copper Beech has been, you fear that both the surroundings and the menu may be a little tired and outdated, but such was not the case here. I had the Bibb salad; the greens felt fresh from the garden, and the pears and pomegranates were a perfect complement. The French onion soup held a surprise: a short rib ravioli. Everything had a pleasant twist to the normal expectation. I can't wait to go back!
Lovely old inn in a beautiful setting. The Copper Beech provides classic Connecticut charm.
We were seated very close to the main entrance and there was a party on the other side of the foyer. If we were seated at another table and it wasn’t a Saturday night, I don’t believe the noise level would have been so high.
Very attentive service but the food was absolutely outstanding. If it wasn’t a forty five minute drive to get there, I think I’d eat there on a weekly basis. My wife and I dine out quite frequently, but Copper Beech makes most other restaurants a distant second.
This is a quiet, lovely place. The food is excellent and inventive. We shared the tuna tacos as an appetizer, and the Bibb salad with pears, pecans, and goat cheese. Our entrees were Wiener Schnitzel (delicious!--made with pork tenderloin medallions that were pounded) and steak frites, which was also excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The Oak Room never disappoints. Nice atmosphere, good food & attentive service. Wait staff very accommodating & pleasant.
The service was very good, both in the bar and the dining room. The menu was limited, the food was good.
Traditional New England charm! Our server Kevin had the perfect timing of our food and drinks. Drinks, appetizers and dinner were terrific. Always on the mark. The perfect stop after leaf peeping this fall!
Always been one of my top favorites/ so lovely inside, great service and excellent food
Great place and would 100% go back. Very enjoyable.
I read reviews that said the quality of the food wasn’t good however our experience was quite different French onion soup was superb the steak was very good, and the service was excellent
Excellent restaurant with a wonderful choice of dishes. Understaffed but understandable. Had to get my own cream for coffee, and coffee cup was a bit dirty, and needed a new one. Staff very polite and helpful!
As always our meal and service was excellent. Thanks to Scott, Lois and Jenn.
Restaurant with great character.
The French Pork Chop and Diver Scallops were fantastic.
Lois gave us top-tier service.
Can't wait to come back.
Great service. Risotto beneath the scallops was bland. Demi-glace on pork chop was way too sweet. All other food was very good and the place is lovely.
Great food and service
We were amazed with the details put in our meals and surprises that came with the different flavor. Our waitress was okay but not superb!!
I was let down at desert time because I first in this app I clicked it was an occasion, an Anniversary and also left a detailed message saying that I wanted a dessert of the waitress or waiters choice.
when that time came. The waitress asked if I wanted a dessert menu and she clearly did not know it was an occasion or the certain message I requested.
But again the food was out of this world!!!!
Had specific health issues, called before arriving & couldn’t be more accommodating. Felt extremely comfortable & will return soon!
Always outstanding food and time. Inside or patio.
Didn’t care for the sauce the mussels were in. Didn’t like the Wiener schnitzel deep fried.
As always, just perfect. Sam is the world's greatest waiter, great bartender, too. We just love it there.
We liked eating outside on the porch . Food was really tasty and interesting!
Waitress was responsive and friendly! Service was at a good pace.
Tables nicely spaced out for anyone concerned about eating inside and the variants. We live locally, one of my favorite places to eat
Our 8th Anniversary
Returned there after dining at Copper Beech May 2020 when the tables were set in the gardens. Was hoping for the lawn but we were told that isn't happening this year due to the lack of employees. We were seated on the porch and had a wonderful dinner. Certainly can't fault the restaurant for the slower than usual service with the current problem everywhere of getting help. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for an overall enjoyable experience.
As are many restaurants, way under staffed. Did not see our waiter for 30 minutes.
This is a gem, as good as any fine dining restaurants I’ve been to. Kevin the server was engaging and attentive and allowed us to pace our dinner as we wanted. The salmon and scallops and their preparations were outstanding. We’ll definitely go back if ever in that area again.
I am writing this negative review because, when I called to speak to the owner/manager, the morning after our dinner, I did not receive a return call. It has now been 3 days since I left my message.
Every year, my husband and I travel from New Jersey to eat at the Copper Beach Inn and every year we have a great meal - except for this year. The menu was extremely limited. There was a salmon appetizer, a salmon salad and a salmon entree, but my husband is allergic to fish. The only shell fish option was the scallops. The on line menu said the scallops were $30, but, when we received the bill, the cost for 4 scallops was $42!! Other entree choices were the wiener schnitzel, which was made with pork (not veal) and the small chicken entree (poussin) which had a lot of bones, according to our very nice waitress, so we did not order that either. As a result, there were very few choices for us. We looked forward to our mixed beet salad, but none of the beets were sweet; in fact, they were tasteless. The burrata appetizer was also average. The onion soup was good. Overall, a very disappointing meal in a nice setting.
Despite the heat and crowds of high summer, and post-COVID staff shortages experienced EVERYWHERE, including here, our dinner for two on the terrace this Wednesday evening ran like a top. Staff was right on top of things; the food was generously portioned and delicious; the setting overlooking the garden and fountain is lovely; the French bistro chairs comfy. My Salmon Nicoise and hubbie's Weiner Schnitzel so large they required a takeout container. Decent wine list. Easy to find and park. Recommend.
Hamburger over cooked. Steak came out cold. I’ll think twice before I go back. Drinks came late.
Unfortunately The Copper Beach Inn reported to Open Table that we were never there . We were the only car in the parking lot with NY plates. Check your cameras . Check your credit card receipts! How awful when you have to prove you made your reservation at a restaurant. So many other choices available…. Where you don’t have to prove your attendance.
We had a very lovely anniversary dinner on their outside porch. Good food and wine. Service was also very good. The fish special was done perfectly, the french fries outstanding and the flourless chocolate cake to die for.
Lovely place for some classic breakfast choices. Beautiful old, historic house with outside covered porch seating if you prefer.
We had excellent service as always and the view of the gardens from the porch was lovely as always. We have been dining here for years and never had a bad meal. This evening was an exception. My husband’s meal was very good as it was the special of the evening. My meal , the salmon Nicoise was poorly executed and the salmon was not fresh. This has been an entree I always ordered and was always fresh and perfectly presented and prepared . When questioned the chef did admit that the salmon had not been purchased that day and apologized. They did however initially charge us for the meal until
we objected and agreed to then remove it. We never complain and are regular customers so it was surprising they would not have initially done so. However the innkeeper , Sam and our server Lois did correct the bill and the evening ended on a good note. We will continue to dine here and consider this an unusual experience. The pandemic has stressed many restaurants and this may be a reflection.
Menu offered excellent choice and variety, smoked salmon appetizer excellent, sea bass special was first rate. Service and attention was excellent.
