A great evening and when the waitress learned it was my friend’s birthday she brought a delicious dessert with a candle in it. A very lovely evening.
The Cooperage is a great place to meet and enjoy fabulous food and great service.
Small bowl of soup is12:00$
It was just OK
Great evening! Cooperage never disappoints - excellent food, interesting wines, fun environment.
We had a great date night for my birthday! Green eggs and ham (deviled eggs!), half dozen oysters, pork chop, and salmon were all WONDERFUL! Our server was very attentive and engaging. We will definitely be back!!!
This visit found service not up to what we expected. Seemed to take a long time to have order taken. Food was served piecemeal and we had to ask more than once for missing items. Nonetheless, food was great and it was an otherwise good brunch experience.
Chef waskin and attentive. Food was delicious.. We hoped the water would come around more often.
Large table next to us with 3 moms and 1 dad let their kids be wild and playing with large curtain the entire time. Very loud and annoying
I do like the ambience here! My food was good but not great.
I have been going to this restaurant since they opened and it has always been a A-1 experience. But last time it was not. First of all I ordered fish tacos and my fries were ice cold. Sent them back and they replace with hot ones. But the fish in the tacos was bland and soggy. My friend order the ribs on my recommendation and he found them to be over-sauced. He said the meat on the ribs was high quality but hard to taste since too much sauce. My fish tacos and one glass of wine was $38 which is rather pricey and I would not mind paying for it if the quality was there. I dont know what happened to this restaurant as it has always been excellent.
They had advertised that they were open during the power outage. Got there at 7:20 for a 7:30 res and sign on the door said that they closed at 8 !?!? A phone call would have been nice.
We booked the table 2 hours before and went there but turned out that the restaurant was closed. Very disappointed that both the restaurant site didn’t say it’s closed and open table app didn’t say that and allowed us to make reservations and wasted a trip to drive there
Food really good as always, big improvement on service compared to our last experience.
Always a nice place to go back to.
Great food and great service. A little noisy but that’s to be expected I guess. We were there during the PG&E power outage and the Cooperage powered through with their generator ! Amazing 👍🏻
Lovely venue with outside dining available. Lunch food was deliciously creative with fresh ingredients presented nicely. Plenty of staff to attend to our needs and never felt rushed. I'll go back for dinner soon!
This restaurant used to be wonderful, however, lately the service, and food is merely average or less than average. We even questioned the bloody mary’s As to whether or not they had any alcohol. The hot sauce in the BM was soo hot it was nearly undrinkable. Brunch was edible, but so is Denny’s. Food was almost warm, thrown on the plate, had to ask for butter and jelly. Server was sullen, disinterested, and not very willing to offer us any service. Person at front desk looked straight through us while seating other folks outside, while we waited nearly 10 minutes to be seated. It was NOT that busy...could be a sign of malcontent by former patrons...like us. Only reason to go there now is the delicious “Cooperage” cocktail...even then we’ll think twice before going back.
Chicken wings were well dressed. The sauce used allowed for a nice coating without over doing it, it was super flavorful without dousing the wings like a lot of other places tend to do. The blue cheese on top I could’ve done without. It seemed like an after thought to add some type of flavor, but it seemed quite unnecessary. The Mac & cheese was OH so cheesy!! It’s pretty heavy so make sure you have another person sharing that dish with you! The sliders could’ve used some more sauce either on it, or on the side. It was quite sweet, it could’ve used a kick of some sort. The bun was really quite bland, if they had made them in house (doesn’t seem like they do) it could’ve really added something extra to the dish! My partner had the bolognese and it was quite good! The meat sauce was not overwhelming, not all too heavy, and was delicious.
It didn’t seem too busy but he might’ve had a big section. Regardless, my partner specifically asked for there to be no cheese on top of their pasta and it was covered when it appeared at the table. While I understand mistakes happen, if our server had come over sooner we could’ve asked him to swap it. When we did bring it up, he pretty much just brushed it off and asked if we wanted a refill on our drinks. It would’ve been nice that it was at least acknowledged.
Very great ambiance for a Saturday night out with your girlfriends, your boys, or a casual night out with your significant other. There is quite a bit of seating throughout the venue. Not only inside, but also outside. Allowing for many different types of seating. The seating arrangement me and my partner had was a perfect little nook seating for 2. There was much seating similar to the booth we were in, which really made the dinner intimate. The noise level was lively, but it is quite easy to have a conversation and to hear your partner.
Met a friend and ate at the bar. Had a few beers and double cut pork chop. It was fantastic along with the beer. Great service and a nice setting. Will be back to try other dishes.
We come to the Cooperage for celebrations, because it feels so special. Even when we don't sit outside, we like the feeling of the outside almost coming in. And the food--delish!
Service is fine, but food does not live up to the ambiance of the property. Immediate giveaway: in a region where there are so many gourmet breads served virtually everywhere, their bread is so mediocre that one would be pressed to find a comparison anywhere in this region. So, one asks: who is the chef who tolerates such mediocrity, prompting one to expect similar lapses throughout the operation.
Perfect setting for Happy hour with great food
And super people watching outside on their front patio
Our evening was a delightful experience. Mia our sever was very personable and knowledgeable. We never felt rushed and next time we are in the area would definitely come back. Sadden to here they are removing the half moon booth behind the hostess counter. That was part of what made it special. The hotess (I'm sorry I don't remember her name) was very sweet and fun to talk with as we were wrapping up our evening.
Took over an hour to get our food. We have small children and they were getting restless due to the wait. Understaffed, lack of acknowledgment, and will never go again. They comped our meal, which was appreciated, however, awful experience and food ended up cold.
Waited for 1 and 1/2 hour for brunch food AFTER ordering and finally left. This restaurant has gone downhill over the past year and is very unpredictable. I recommend avoiding it.
Good atmosphere, great craft cocktails,
Good comfort food, excellent ribs
I'm assuming we were there on an off-night? The food seemed good, but everything else was lacking in service and not very friendly. I might try again someday to see if it is any better, BUT won't bring a large party - too loud (inside) to talk.
Hostess claimed no knowledge of our confirmed Open Table reservation and was snippy about doing anything about it. Noise level built to ear-shattering as the evening progressed. Otherwise a good rxperience.
This place is an insult. Hair in the cloth napkin, an ant on the bar and my friend’s meal had to be cooked three times before it was correct. All served with a terrible attitude and no apology. No thank you. Next.
REALLY SLOW service. But great food.
Best G&Ts on the west coast. Yum, yum, yum!!!!!!!
We went to the Cooperage as ours friends like their happy hour. We're local and have stopped going there except when we want a gin and tonic and maybe a bar bite. The fish tacos were among the worst we have ever had, and the reason we stopped going was because the quality of food fell off a cliff a long time ago.
We didn't know we would be in Lafayette during the wine festival and we didn't know The Cooperage was in the middle of it. We had to walk quite a ways to get to it and then found out there was a limited menu because of the festival. It was very noisy and we weren't prepared for that. We all had salads and 3 of us enjoyed them. The chicken in my Dad's salad was dry, but the seafood in my brother's salad was delicious. We would like to try it again on a normal day.
Was the Lafayette Art & Wine Festival which means lots of people -- and more. Cooperage had plenty of staff and food was even better than past experiences. A great respite from the heat. Hands off to all the staff for a job so well done!
We went for brunch and I had the short rib hash. It was the yummiest! I highly recommend it. We sat outside and had a great time with our family. Keep up the good work
Great place to be with the family. Service, Food and environment are all excellent.
Dinner was good. Service was good until we couldn’t fine our waitress to get the check. Just as we were asking someone else for the check she came and took the credit card. We told her we in in a hurry. She said ok, but stopped to take an order before running our check. Would of appreciated her finishing us first. I had to leave before my husband because we had an appointment.
I’ve been many times to Cooperage and returned because I enjoy the location and food. The hostess was pleasant. What attributed to an unpleasant experience was the waitress. She seemed to be in a hurry without really listening to our order. It took approximately 20 minutes to receive iced tea. When she brought it to us she then told us it had just been made. When we ordered our dessert she was barely listening and it took at least 15 minutes to receive it. We were there on September 12 after 1:30 p.m.
