The Cooperage is comfortable for families dining with children and features a large bar area with flat screen TV's, 12 beers on tap, eight wine selections on tap, and award winning cocktail list.
Had friends in from the Central Coast. His first comment was that the wine list was super expensive. I definitely agree. Food was good but not 5 star. I think I will not recommend the Cooperage if guest are looking for a selection of wine at a reasonable price.
Celebrate a birthday that occurred a few weeks ago.
Food was cold not good for location and price should be way better
We've had good meals and service there a few times before, but the last couple of visits have become very poor. The service was very slow (we had 4 different servers during our meal), our order was lost once, and it took and hour to get our entrees. The portions were have become very small. My pork chop was raw on top. Then two of our desserts were burnt. Do they have new management? Sorry to see things go downhill.
Food and service was great!! Ate near the bar area and very loud!!
We had a 7:30 pm reservation and arrived early for a drink in the bar. Great hand made cocktails and nice wine list! Very busy bar area with lots of locals. Lots of kids too especially at this time frame— a bit later and most disappear. When our table was ready we were seated in the bar area - this was a first. Noise level is really not much different from main dining room- it is loud everywhere. Food was great- I rarely order a hamburger but when you’re in the mood !!! It was delicious. The calamari appetizer was very good with shrimp zucchini calamari, etc. Try it !
Comfortable, cozy setting. Portions small - burgers, salads should be bigger.
Our waiter seemed to forget about us. Also we ordered the apple crisp dessert and it was awful. There was no crisp to it. Just baked apples that were cut too big and had the consistency of rubber and a small amount of ice cream on top. You have to slice the apples really thinly for them to bake properly and there should have been a topping.
Service was slow. Had to ask for refill a couple of times as well as extra place setting & salt & pepper. Food was fair. Fries weren’t hot when delivered to the table & burger was mediocre. Oh, and the poached egg on the Brussels sprouts had a hard yolk so had to request another egg. A runny yolk completes the dish!
Everything was fantastic and it made for a very nice Valentine's day dinner. I especially enjoyed the Pork Chop which is one of the best that I've ever had.
I love the Cooperage. Even on Valentines Day, everything was perfect: food, service, noise level, bar drinks, and the manager stopped by to say hello. Staff is busy, but very friendly.
Looks nice from the outside. Inside is like Applebee's. The waiters and waitresses smile and are very cheerful. My wife orderd a salad with Mahi Mahi and I had fish tacos with the Mahi Mahi and sweet potatoe fries. The fish was dry and flavorless and reminded us of chicken McNuggets. The fish tacos came with 3 sauces, 1 was ketchup the other two? One was creamy pink and the other was oily green. They need a new chef thats all there is to it.
The Caesar salad with shrimp was tasty. The shrimp were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The crab Louis was on the small side for a main salad. The cheeseboard was good but the fig jam and blue cheese were unpleasantly too sweet and bitter respectively. Great place to gather with friends after work for a drink, but not quite the place for a date. I’d come back to try brunch but definitely won’t be back for lunch/dinner.
Good. We enjoyed it.
We got stuck in the back room. Looked like an old theme restaurant or pizzeria. Completely separated from the vibrant main restaurant. The food was okay. Service was okay too. Low energy for sure.
My grandpa and I loved our meal. I appreciated that they put us in a private booth so he could hear better.
Not sure why this place is getting panned so bad- ordered the short ribs with polenta & it was really enjoyable and tasty! Service was top-notch! A bit pricey- but what do you expect from Lafayette!!
Not a quiet restaurant for a romantic date but a good meeting place with friends.
Everything was fine. Server was friendly and helpful
The service was really poor. It took about 30 minutes before we ever got a waitress to come to our table. Then when she did it took another 20 mins to get our coffee and about 45 minutes to actually get our food.
The food was excellent. We went early enough to beat the crowds so it was also quiet. Really enjoyed ourselves.
The food was good and we sat outside which was nice as the weather was decent. Nice staff and very thing was very tasty. Will go again for sure!
Was excited to take a couple of my girlfriends to this restaurant as I had been before and had a nice experience. Our waiter was great, the food was okay, but the noise level was really loud. When I first walked in I thought the greeter at the front podium was fake and insincere and acted like he couldn't be bothered. I had a reservation and asked if we could have a different table since ours was right in the middle of traffic and next to the entrance and he basically said this is the only table we have now but you can always wait with a total attitude. It is unfortunate that they have this person as the first impression you get about the restaurant. The evening ended up being fine but I will say that his attitude was very off putting and I will not be back because of that.
Not as good as it used to be! Seated at a long table with a curtain separating us from the kitchen. Awful. Order was screwed up. Just not that good.
Great food and service!
This was my second time here and it was even better the second time. We had the best waitress (I wish I had her name). The food was piping hot and delicious. I will definitely be back!
First time at this newly-remodeled neighborhood gem in Lafayette, but won't be the last.
Tried their Fish Tacos, which were quite tasty! Can't wait to try lots of other dishes on my next visit.
Noisy and the booth we were given was unevenly spaced - my seat VERY close to the table. Service was okay though not overly friendly or attentive. I don't think my water was ever refilled. My friend's order for fries was incorrect but they quickly and easily corrected it. The best part was my impossible burger! Very well cooked and tasty. I will go back though in the end, the prices are quite high for what you get.
Wait service was inattentive, though bussers were on the ball. Food was good but overpriced. Restaurant was noisy even when not full.
Very nice lunch. The noise level in the bar room was very loud, but, all and all, a pleasant experience. We I’ll go back and request the side room where, hopefully, it will be quieter. Can’t seem to find a quiet restaurant these days. Kay
everyone was happy with their meal except the chicken was dry and overcooked.
noisy! does not allow for conversation even among four people.
Good atmosphere, great food, and reasonably attentive service made this an enjoyable evening.
What made our group lunch so special was the excellent service from Vita...thank you.
Great casual place with good food. The service was excellent and the environment is appropriate for business.
It was our first time visiting Cooperage and we were so impressed! Wonderful service —food was just awesome!! We will be back! Thank you!
Waited very long at the front. Wasn’t greeted. Felt severely understaffed. No warmth. Napkin was spiked and dirty when seated at our table. For the price, there are many better, more diverse, dinnning options in surrounding areas. Most likely our last time in. Server was attentive though. There was good with the bad. Previous experiences were much better.
Always good- servers are always friendly and timely with interaction.
I always love coming to the Cooperage. The staff remains the same which means they must treat their employees well. The food you can always rely on to be good. They keep the basics (which I like) and change up a portion of the menu on a regular basis. The bar is fantastic and the drinks are wonderful.
Excellent service considering it was New Years Eve!
Excellent service. The food was solid, lobster bisque was excellent. The Cooperage has some nice old school cocktails on their menu, and appear to take pride in their backbar, so I ordered a Mai Tai, expecting the Trader Vic's cocktail (you know, you order a martini, you expect gin and vermouth) . When I got a pineapple and liquid pink stuff spring break version of the drink, I asked the server for another type of cocktail. He went to the trouble of asking me why I was sending it back, then went and made a proper Mai Tai, and delivered it with a smile. I half expected him to be irate with us for the rest of the evening (because let's face it, that's what you can expect at some places when you send something back), but he was friendly and professional throughout the evening. I wish all wait staff were that good.
