One of the very few quiet restaurants in the area. Conversation is easy. Add to that delicious food and drinks, a creative menu, fine service, lovely table settings, comfortable surroundings, and a beautiful view of fields and Sugarloaf Mountain, and you have a winner.
We were celebrating a 20th wedding anniversary. I guess our fault for choosing this restaurant but thought the view would be nice and it had decent reviews. We had requested a table with a nice view but were seated against a wall away from the window. There was no mention or recognition of our celebration milestone on the part of restaurant in any way. Our entrees were good but overpriced for this type of venue maybe if we were downtown fine. The rest of the meal was very average to below average pasty cloverleaf rolls and way under baked bordering on raw cookie dough blonde for dessert that had coconut all over it which wasn’t mentioned. Can’t recommend it and don’t plan to ever return.
Entrees (salmon and pork tenderloin) were excellent, service great, and atmosphere/view excellent. Dessert (blonde brownie) was disappointing. More like eating cookie dough than a brownie. Overall, a pleasurable fine dining experience.
New menu roll out so we were there. Between four of us we shared the summer crab salad and bourbon and bleu salad, both are delicious. Stuffed dates were to die for and the fried green tomatoes are yummy.
Entree's, again shared were the Greek Chicken, Duroc Pork Tenderloin, Cornmeal Dusted Trout and the Cauliflower Steak. Amazing flavors from all. Super new menu! Compliments to the chef.

We got married at The Comus 5 years ago. Was great then and it’s still so wonderful. We love Lou so much and the rest of the staff is always warm and fun.
Everything was very nice, but disappointed the tent was blocking the view.

Last week I made a reservation at the Comus Inn for two persons for noon on May 20th by email and voicemail, and then called the next day to make sure the reservation was received. A staff member confirmed that the reservation was received and recorded as requested including the window table.This was a very special occasion and I wanted to make sure of the day, time and seating. My oldest friend and I were to celebrate a very special occasion.
We arrived at about a quarter to noon. The manager acknowledged the reservation and took us to a table for two not at a window. At the time, half of the tables at the windows were empty. I noted that a man and a woman were at one of those window tables. I told the manager that the reservation was for a window table. He refused to seat us there and offered a table for two at the wall. I said I had indicated our preferred seating with the reservation. He replied that it was policy not to allow reservations for window tables and that it was first come first serve, despite the fact that there were empty window tables and that he had already seated a couple at one of those windows tables for four.
His tone was disrespectful and rude and his explanation was not reasonable. At my insistence he seated us finally at a window table but the unpleasantness had spoiled what was to be a very special occasion for me and my friend.
Finally, a word about the food we had. The crab meat that was part of the Eggs Benedict did not taste fresh and the taste and smell of it overwhelmed the taste of any of the other ingredients. The chocolate cake desert was also not very tasty. The mousse parts were overly sugary and the cake part was an overly chewy consistency.
Personable staff, excellent service, scenic view, and great food!
We have visited Comus Inn many times. This time was disappointing. Service was off. Our plates sat in front of us for a long time. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Very disappointing this time.
Probably my 10th dining experience over the past 3 years at the Inn.

Mother’s Day dinner
I think the food wasn't bad but the max and cheese wasn't done and the wsffles were cold. The beef contained a lot of rareness, and I prefer well done. The waiter tried to rid the rareness the meat became tough and hard to digest.

Summary: The managers were rude and the air conditioning froze us. Despite the less than warm reception and the very cold climate, we had a delicious brunch. Our waiter was helpful, friendly, and added much needed warmth to the situation.
Details: We took our mother to Mother's Day Brunch. We made reservations online with Open Table then called the restaurant to ensure they were wheelchair accessible. Jesse directed us to use a ramp on the side of the building where we could access the lower level. On arrival, we took the ramp around to the back lower level but didn't see an official entrance there. A waiter kindly opened a patio door for us and we entered.
The waiter began assisting us with locating a manager to help us find our table, but the manager wasn't very friendly when he heard we had not checked in at the front of the restaurant. We offered several times to do so and he said no we didn't need to, but he was obviously perplexed by our arrival without the check in upstairs. We apologized and explained that we were told on the phone to use the ramp to get to the lower level and that we had not received instructions to check in upstairs first.
Another manager approached while this was going on and said he needed to make sure we had a reservation. At this point we gave our name and reservation time and the newly arrived manager said, he was wondering where we were, as though we were late. We were not late.
Eventually we were seated at a table next to the patio doors. The A/C was on. We were all quickly chilled by the constant breeze from the ceiling vents.
Our waiter helped us with drinks and brunch protocol. Our meal was delicious.
All in all, the food and waiter were great, but the managers need to improve on their manners. Their greeting was not what we expected on arrival to our much anticipated Mother's Day Brunch. If we go back, we'll request a table away from the A/C vents and we'll check in upstairs first.
The ambiance was first rate and perfect for a quiet Mother's Day meal. The food was good, not excellent but certainly satisfactory. When we got the bill we were blown away at the price. No where on the website did it mention how much per person the brunch would be. The cost was $10 - $20 a person more than what we would have expected, having had brunch at many other places. We would't go back again for a brunch.
The venue was a Mother's Day brunch which was a buffet on that day.
The food was barely mediocre, The meat was almost raw and fatty, other items were not fresh and tasted old. The food was located on the lower level of the restaurant which was impossible for older people to maneuver with a long staircase and no other access. In the past, I have received calls from restaurants which give you a heads up in case the party members can't climb up and down a long staircase.
In addition, it was expensive for the type and quality of food.
I wil not go to this restaurant again.

Have been to Comus Inn in the past and had good experiences. Today, Mother’s Day was the worse. The buffet was way overpriced and completely tasteless. For $50 per person you would think you have an option of seafood and not crappy salmon. Couldn’t even get to the eggs as the line was too long and only one cook. Not only $50 per person but cocktails were $12, for the price of the crappy meal you would think they could throw one in at least. The server mentioned to the owner my issues and he didn’t even think to come to the table. I wasn’t looking for a discount or anything, just wanted to give my opinion.
Doubt I will be returning to Comus Inn which is a shame because I live the area but horrible experience.
I spent more time going up and down three flights of stairs and standing in the omelet line than I did sitting down and eating with my children on Mother's Day. It was disappointing to pay so much and to have to work so hard to accomplish brunch, and every time I returned to my table the coffee had grown cold. Only the cheerfulness of our server compensated for what was a somewhat disappointing experience. And we've been making this a destination brunch for special occasions for years.

Chef seems to like adding peppers to a lot of stuff. I hate peppers and cannot eat them. Ordered fish tacos which came topped with a relish that included lots of pimento peppers. I asked that they remake them without peppers, which they did with no issue. Was busy at this time so my wife had almost finished her meal before I got my "remade" tacos. However, the server, and I presume the chef, had no issue with the remake.

Our family of 4 had a lovely lunch last Sunday. The service from the maitre d to server was impeccable. The food was delicious (we chose brunch food)! The view of Sugarloaf mountain can't be beat! Worth the drive.
If you’re looking for a quiet restaurant with excellent food and service, The Comas Inn is a great place to try, especially if you like a country setting and a relaxing dinner. We’ve been going there for three years now and have never been disappointed. It starts off with a greeting from Jesse, a gentleman who makes you feel more than welcome when you walk in the door, and it only gets better after that. It’s refreshing to finally find a restaurant where you don’t have to scream at your co-diners in order to be heard. You have an awesome view of Sugaroloaf Mountain from at least one of the dining areas. Can’t think of a single negative. We just wish we’d found it sooner.
We always love bringing out of town guests here. You can find something on the menu for everyone. Wonderful food, delicious drinks, superb service and great company equals a fantastic evening!

All I can say is that the meals were very good. BUT the prime reason to take an hour ride trip is the the view of Sugarloaf Mountain. Check before you go or you will be met with a HUGE tent outside the dining area that blocks the view.. A really big disappointment. Staff said it's there from Spring till late Fall. Too bad....
The welcoming was very nice. The man at the desk was diligent. The ambiance of the restaurant, even tough the place is large, you don't have a sense of being over crowded.

Twice a year we fly in from California and never miss our favorite restaurant in Maryland. As always, we were pleased with the delicious food, beautiful ambiance and pleasant service!

We've been many times for dinner and a la carte brunch which have always been amazing. However we were disappointed with the Easter Buffet. The veggie medley and prime rib were under cooked and the bread was not fresh. The kids had to go to the bar to get their drinks refilled since our server was consumed with two other large tables and rarely came by once they were sat. We did have a late seating (4:30) and thought maybe that's why serving trays weren't being refreshed but as we walked out all the station seems to be replenished with fresh cooked food. I was so looking forward to a yummy Easter feast that I didn't have to cook. We won't be returning for another buffet, especially since my almost 11 year old will then be full price. But that is another post. ;)
Too expensive for the kind of meal. Also, imposing 20% tips is not proper. The service was average. The reservation was canceled and we had to redo it despite the fact that we were told that there was no place. The manager abruptly told us they had no more available seating when in fact there were slots open in Open Table!
