Beautiful setting. Very polite and attentive service. Everyone truly cares about the dining experience which is so nice to experience. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxing. The food was very good too. The mixologist bartender is very invested in delivering his very best. A lovely dining experience overall. Will definitely go again!
We were hoping they would recognize birthday we came to celebrate. The young waitress brought us wrong icecream for the app strudel. Meals were tasty.
the service was lousy, the food tasteless, We where not happy at all.
Food was delicious. Nice selection of usual and unusual dishes. Don’t miss the hush puppies. Can’t beat the view. Come before sundown. One disappointment, my JWB was very dilute and maybe not Johnny Walker at all.
We only visit this restaurant on special occasions such as our 39th anniversary this year. It is always a wonderful experience! We had the crab cakes this time and they were delicious. Nothing is really exotic, just well-prepared American fare. I only gave "value" 4 stars because it is very expensive for this area.
Sunday Brunch. The beignets !!
Can't wait to go back. Food was excellent, service was outstanding. A very nice place for a special occasion.
Jesse, the host, and the servers are always superb. Treat you like family!
Another outstanding Sunday dinner at the Comus Inn. We continue to love this place for its food, ambience, and atmosphere.
Beautiful location - the restaurant has sugarloaf mountains as its view. Try and sit on the window facing tables - the restaurant is like a corridor - thin and long with only 2 columns of tables. The maître d' is very warm and welcoming - my son was on crutches when we walked in and he took special care to show concern. Very soft spoken too. Service was great and so was the food.
This was our first visit. The trout and salmon and their sides were excellent. I gave the food 4 stars because my salmon was lukewarm. The service for our table was slow from beginning to end; we noted that the other servers were on the ball.
As usual everything was top shelf. From the moment you are warmly greeted at the door, til a handshake and thank you when leaving. Service is impeccable every time we come and the food is always great. It’s always fun to see what’s new and exciting on the menu. Food always exceeds our expectations in both quality and done to perfection. Will be back! Thanks
I wasn't crazy about our server. There were two of us in my party and she only brought us each a roll. I had to ask if they offer rolls at this restaurant. Most of the time, the server will automatically bring them to you if the restaurant offers them. I had to ask another server if we could have more rolls. She said they only bring one each in order for them to be warm. I asked if I got the green beans and I didn't like them could I get something else. She said no that they are made to order. I just thought that was strange. The portions are small too. I think the best part was the ambience.
One of our favorite restaurants for a ladies brunch. Food is always good. Interesting seas o mal alcoholic drink choices are available.
As always perfect!
We come frequently. Always a wonderful, welcoming experience.
Food was good although a little on the pricey side. Service was friendly but very slow, I believe they were short on server's
Excellent service from all staff. The food was delicious. The appetizer, main dishes (vegetarian and fish dishes), and dessert were amazing. Beautiful sunset off sugarloaf mountain. Will definitely be back!
This is a long-standing favorite ... Great for a weekend brunch!
what a view ... well worth the trip. A good place to go for dinner after a hike and glass of wine at the Sugarloaf winery
We were celebrating our anniversary, and had a wonderful experience!! Our server was fantastic and a great help as he suggested a wine to compliment the dish my husband had. My husband is not a wine drinker but this wine he enjoyed. Even the appetizer we had, the sauteed Brussels sprouts, again, not something my husband would eat, but he loved it! The bartender (mixologist), came over to our table and created the most amazing drinks that suite both our unique palates. Everything about this place is wonderful!
Great service, bartender is very skilled. But a too expensive
Delightful brunch, lovely atmosphere....most enjoyable venture into the countryside for good food.
Great food, fabulous ambiance, friendly service = great evening!
Always enjoy going to Comus Inn! Food is amazing! I've never had a bad meal there. Service is always top notch, too. It is pricey, but you do get what you pay for.
We love the Comus Inn and bring guests often. There's nothing in Frederick like it. The service is always personal, prompt and very knowledgeable. The food is creative, tasty and very well presented. The GM and Host are always on top of things to make sure everyone has a great experience. Well done Comus Inn!!
Great food and lovely atmosphere
Loved the beignets !
The gazpacho was outstanding. The trout, probably local was fairy food melted in my mouth! And to top it off The creme Brûlée's was superb!
Very good time. We were seated in the enclosed porch area which normally has wonderful scenic views but an event tent directly in from to the windows obscured the view. That’s my only demerit. Everything else was great.
Steak was not cooked as requested and had to be sent back which took a bit to resolve and my drink was not as requested. Our server was fantastic.
Everything was perfect! Food was delicious. Place was elegant.
We celebrated Father's Day here after a long hike on Sugarloaf Mountain. The service and food were impeccable and enjoyed by every one in our party.
Fathers Day and it was a great brunch!
Local family favorite. Chef Elise and her staff are always on point. We love them! Highly recommend for any occasion or just to have a relaxing delicious meal in a beautiful country setting.
Outstanding dining experience. Food and service are excellent, wonderful atmosphere.
If you're there at dusk, you get a nice view the sun setting behind sugarloaf mountain from the back rooms or patio.
This is a truly “ special occasion” dining spot with lovely views and magnificent at sunset. Don’t think you are getting away from DC prices however !
The food was all fresh with interesting locally sourced produce. Service was attentive.
Easily expect to spend $75 per person without tax and tip ....
We went here after getting engaged. The waitstaff was so nice and we were able to take our time and enjoy the night. Would definitely recommend for special occasions!
Our experience, as always, was wonderful. Service was wonderful. Angela could not have been more accommodating. It is always a pleasure to be greeted by Jessie.
My guests enjoyed their dining experience. Thank you.
Birthday dinner for my wife
It was our 39th anniversary and Comus Inn has become our go to place for our Anniversary. It use to be old angler until they went downhill on service so it’s our hope that comus maintains and even strengthens their service. We enjoy great service and great food and are willing to pay to get it but we want to rely on it being consistent. The host and servers are wonderful and make us feel at home.
