Brunch was divine! Service and hospitality were exemplary. Will definitely return for Sunday brunch!
The Comus Inn has been a place our family always goes for special occasions. Located at the foothill of Sugarloaf mountain, it has a nice meal selection with good presentation. The staff are gracious with a warm elegant atmosphere.
A favorite for our family for years, and local to us. The Comus Inn was our choice for our son’s wedding venue and the event was just a totally beautiful affair. Highly recommend the Comus Inn for anyone’s dining pleasure of fine food and service plus a beautiful setting with Sugarloaf Mountain as a magnificent view in the sunset. Will continue to return and be pampered by their staff!
Met friends for Brunch and enjoyed the food, service and view!
French toast, biscuits and gravy, fresh granola and fruit and chicken and waffles. Started with beignets, yum!
Just a good place to go, nice atmosphere, relatively quiet decent food an affordable price.
Everything was very nice and we plan to go back for Sunday brunch in the spring when the flowers are in bloom. We were surprised, however, they only had paper boxes for leftovers. We had to ask for it to be lined with plastic wrap so the food wouldn't leak out in the car.
Our lunch was excellent, especially the Ahi tuna/avocado special. I live near the Inn and go there often, but this lunch was especially good. And the view can’t be beat!
We loved the opportunity to take advantage of the Valentine's menu. Ahi tuna salad, crispy brussel sprouts to start, yum.
Lobster resotto, Beef short rib and Mushroom cassoulet for main courses.... amazing!
Last but not least chocolate molten cake, creme brulee and salted caramel triple chocolate tart, is your mouth watering?
Katelyn our server was wonderful and fun. Drinks and wine go without saying, always delicious.
What a cozy environment with a stunning view. The plate presentation was too notch and the food was fantastic. We will be back!
Worst Valentine’s Day dinner ever. Table wasn’t ready for over an hour after reservation. No place to wait for table. No drinks offered while waiting . So complimentary desert or appetizer for the 90 minute wait. Service sub-par service for a $250 meal. Food was “okay”. Not worth the price though. Will not return or recommend.
Should communicated limited menu at reservation time. Online photos shows a bar. There is no public bar.
The food and cocktails were A+. The service staff equally top notch, friendly, engaging appropriately and caring about getting it right. The only downside is represented by this quote from the waitress when I asked if she forgot my cocktail, "we have 3 floors filled with tables and 1 bartender". The same issue apparently in the kitchen. The kitchen was also backed up. They need more staff to support a full house (Valentine's Day 2018). After two hours plus, we asked for desert to just be boxed up.
We will definitely go back on a less busy night.
Took my wife here for Valentine's Day. Nice scenic area near Sugarloaf Mountain. Menu was the Valentine's Day special menu.
Martini's were great.
Brussel sprout appetizer was very good, duck confit was so so
Meals (short ribs and salmon) were great
Desserts were very good too.
Heard great things about Sunday Brunch so we'll need to return to try that out.
Special occasion place for sure
Food was good, loved the atmosphere! Service was really bad, we were never checked on, took 30 minutes to get our dessert after we were finished diner. We never received our chocolate covered strawberries as was part of the Valentine’s Day dinner. We won’t go out of our way to go back but, may try again some day.
One of our favorite dining establishments! Family at end of hall quite boisterous, slightly disrupting our dinner. Scallops were outstanding as were the Blondie dessert topped with vanilla ice cream!
Had not been in years, but the same great place clean, casual, and great food. Everyone wants to come back and me too
Another excellent meal at Comus Inn. Service was great, food excellent and a nice relaxing and quiet place for a special meal.
One of the few remaining places where you can hear each other and enjoy great food.
The Inn is always a great place for special occasions and quiet dinners with friends. The fried Brussels sprout appetizer and the lamb with the special sauce and cheesy grits followed by the melt-in-your mouth brownie were all excellent choices. I doubt that one could have a "bad" meal here. It isn't a cheap place to eat, but the food, service and ambiance are a good value.
Had family in town so this was the perfect place for Brunch. Wonderful service, great good, special drinks, fantastic view and family. Lovely time was had by all.
Comus is always a pleasant experience. The waitstaff is the best. Food is of good value. Highly recommend.
We have always loved Comus. Their food is delicious and always on point. I highly recommend the carb hush puppies. We were there for my husband’s birthday and they surprised us with a treat for him. And since we were on an adult date night, they did not mind us taking our time with every course.
The food was delicious and Jesse, the concierge was the best ever! We will certainly be back.
We went for a birthday lunch. Food was great, service very good - the waitress was very pleasant. View is gorgeous - a very pretty and calming area.
The food , service and location are terrific. It's a lovely place to celebrate with family and friends.
The Comus Inn is consistently very good. I've never had a meal that was less than excellent. The staff is friendly and efficient. Great value and a nice break from the DC suburbs.
As always excellent food and a very professional staff.
Beautiful room overlooking Sugarloaf Mountain. Fancy China and lovely setup BUT kitchen misplaced our order. We waited for over an hour and yes wine was given free as compensation .... Time is money and our afternoon plans were shot. My own order was only OK. All around it was a disappointment. It will be awhile before we dine there again.
We were there for Thanksgiving dinner. Gave us a terrible table, oddly shaped that made it difficult to carry a conversation. Took 20 minutes for a waitress to come by. Ordered a bottle of wine. 20 minutes later they came back and said they didn’t hVe it. Took another 10 minutes to get the replacement. Buffet food was good, better than expected, but a bit expensive at $50 per serving. Overall less than I hoped for.
Been to Comus Inn previously. Always has been an exceptional place - good food, good ambiance, good scenery of Sugarloaf Mt.
Would not recommend on special occasions when they only serve their overpriced buffets. We went there for Thanksgiving. When we went to the buffet tables, I started with a salad. Good salad selection, but their carafes of dressing were empty. Only after I mentioned they were out of salad dressing did they refill the carafes - took over 5 minutes. Then went to the main food line. The dressing tray was empty - took them 10 minutes to provide another tray. As I made my way done the food line, the ham tray and sweet potato trays were empty too and it took 5 minutes to restock the trays with food.
Obviously they could not keep pace with the people they were serving. Very disappointing. What was more disappointing was when I finally was able to get some rosemary sage dressing - it was bland with no taste.
Comus Inn has always been an exceptional place when I go there for dinner . But when it comes to them serving buffets on special occasions, they don’t do well in serving the large crowds.
We weren’t seated until one hour past our reservation time😟.
Great venue for Thanksgiving. This was our second year in a row. Love the older gentleman who greets everyone and clearly knows the Comus Inn well.
The main course was good. However, the dessert (pumpkin flan) was mediocre and overpriced, and there was an unconscionable delay in its arrival.
I enjoy dining at fine resturant. The Comus Inn falls flat in many areas. Service is slow, food is just okay nothing special, big mark up on cocktail. So many more better dining choices around.
Very nice service. Our Sunday brunch was delicious. We had the omelets. Beautiful view of Sugarloaf Mountain. We were able to converse comfortably - no background music. Great escape from urban area.
Lovely setting. Excellent dining experience. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
As always, food and service were excellent. In addition, we were favored with a brilliant Fall afternoon, so the view was magnificent.
Great place for dinner. The food and presentation were excellent. The trout and the salmon were perfect. If you like crab, you will love the crab hush puppies for an appetizer. Wonderful wine and mixed drink menu.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is like an old inn in the country. The owner and the staff are very accommodating and make you feel especially welcome to be joining them. The food can match any of the best restaurants without having the cold expense account feel.
I very much recommend the Comus Inn. You will not be disappointed.
The Comus Inn is a beautiful restaurant very close to Sugarloaf Mountain. Not much else is nearby. I recommend going after a hike on the mountain and/or after visiting the Sugarloaf Mountain Winery. Then that makes the drive really worth it!
The Comus Inn is quite expensive, so I recommend going only as a special occasion. And make sure to bring a change of clothes if you do plan to go after a hike! It's very fancy, so you want to dress appropriately.
