A hidden gem in our area. I discovered by accident. Totally amazing place and highly recommend this place. Cannot wait to go in the spring and summer to see the sunset with Sugarloaf Mountain in the background. The chef prepares the best food I have had in a very long time!!!! if not ever!
This was by far the best dinner I have had this year. The service was prompt and detail to attention was superb. Appetizers, dinner and dessert were all home made and fabulous.
The Inn is a little out of the way but definitely worth the drive.
No complaints here. Comus Inn is first class all the way, the way things should be! Keep up the good work.
Great spot for brunch. Food is terrific and view is wonderful. Highly recommended.
Quaint environs but the food and service are just average. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.
The Comus Inn is a hidden Gem!!!!! Everything was absolutely OUTSTANDING!!!!!!! We were there for Sunday Brunch. Our party of 7, was seated at a Wonderful Table with a view of the Sugarloaf Mountains that would take your breath away!!! I would give this 10 Stars if I could. This is my new Sunday Brunch place for sure! Definitely going back.
The view of Sugarloaf Mountain from the dining room window is beautiful, and it's an ideal Sunday brunch spot. Their spicy Bloody Mary is one of the best. The banana bread and beignets are superb. Our family loves their eggs benedict. But make sure you schedule a very large chunk of time for your meal. The past two times, we were there for almost two hours. Yes, you should relax and enjoy your time and conversation with fellow diners, but the lack of servers checking in on us made us feel that the service was just slow. There were no spoons on our table and no servers to request them from when needed, so we had to reach over to the empty table next to us and help ourselves. We will go back and hope for a little faster service next time.
We love this place. We bring friends and family when in town.
Very helpful with elder guest; walked down ramp to rear entrance. Accommodating and patient to reserved table. All in all very pleasant time.
We did the Thanksgiving dinner buffet and all the food was great but the turkey was excellent; best I've ever had. I would do it again.
We truly enjoyed the Thanksgiving buffet on Nov. 28, 2019! Food selection was good, and it all was cooked well and tasted very good. The prime rib was excellent as was the stuffing, root veggies, ham, and sweet potatoes! We were slightly disappointed that there were no pumpkin waffles as their online menu mentioned. Maybe we didn’t see them, but they were not evident to the eye.
The staff was excellent. The young women who waited on us were extremely pleasant, talkative and very poised. They were very attentive, and not overly so as with a majority of other restaurants, etc.
One disappointment was the cost of my Bloody mary. $10! Rather steep I must say. $7.50 would be reasonable during this “event”. It was the reason I only gave some categories “very good"Price for the Buffet was proper.
It was lovely!
Beautiful location. Food was good. Nice country drive. A good place to get away from a hectic lifestyle.
Our food was absolutely to die for. My wife and I celebrated our three year wedding anniversary and it could not have been better. We watched the sunset beyond the mountains, enjoy great food, and awesome service. We shared the Crab Hush Puppies which were amazing! My wife had the NY Strip, which was cooked to perfection and absolutely melted in your mouth. The whipped mashed potatoes were quiet amazing as well. I had the Crab Cake with the roasted corn succotash, and it was awesome. The crab cake was perfect, very little filler, and the succotash complimented the dish very well.We declined dessert because we were so full, but cant wait to come back and try other menu items!
Perfect place for lunch before a hike at Sugarloaf Mountain.
The Comus Inn is our special dining location and the location of our wedding 3 years ago. I cannot say enough good things.
Took my family first time to this restaurant and we had a great experience. Really friendly atmosphere, excellent view of mountains and greenery that add to the dining experience. Great food with a friendly service. Will definitely visit this place again.
A beautiful fall day with a warm welcome from Jessie set the tone for a wonderful late lunch at the Comus Inn. One improvement would have been our waitress telling us (and other guests) of the day’s specials as well as offering a salad instead of fries with a lunch dish. Other than that relatively minor detail, it was wonderful and we’ll be back.
The food and service was impeccable. Loved the hot toddy!
We had been to Comus Inn several times in the past and decided to celebrate our daughter's birthday there. We noted this when we made the reservation. The meal our daughter got was poor, smothered in capers. She mentioned to a staff member and he said capers were expensive (!) and so when you go to an expensive restaurant you should expect to get more of them!!! This is absolute rot. Also this person made a big deal out of opening our wine and pouring the first glass, then we never saw him again. I got up and refilled glasses as needed. Service was very slow, even though the place as not at all crowded. Not up to the usual Comus Inn standard.
The food was excellent. The wait staff appeared to be short handed; we had long waits for service through the meal and to get the bill. The country ambience was wonderful, a nice view out the windows to fields and trees.
Beautiful setting. Very polite and attentive service. Everyone truly cares about the dining experience which is so nice to experience. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxing. The food was very good too. The mixologist bartender is very invested in delivering his very best. A lovely dining experience overall. Will definitely go again!
I was actually looking forward to dinner at th Comus Inn. I had not had dinner there and there in a very long time and had fond memories. However I’m afraid my expectations were not met. Although the food was good, I felt the little touches were missing. Although I don’t expect to be served bread before dinner it is a nice touch. Having my water glass refilled at least once would have been nice. And if you are going to ask me when I book a reservation if this is a special occasion and I reply “ Birthday “. It might be nice to at least give the Birthday individual at least a cookie. Even if we decided not to have desert. At least they said “Happy Birthday “.
We were hoping they would recognize birthday we came to celebrate. The young waitress brought us wrong icecream for the app strudel. Meals were tasty.
the service was lousy, the food tasteless, We where not happy at all.
Food was delicious. Nice selection of usual and unusual dishes. Don’t miss the hush puppies. Can’t beat the view. Come before sundown. One disappointment, my JWB was very dilute and maybe not Johnny Walker at all.
We only visit this restaurant on special occasions such as our 39th anniversary this year. It is always a wonderful experience! We had the crab cakes this time and they were delicious. Nothing is really exotic, just well-prepared American fare. I only gave "value" 4 stars because it is very expensive for this area.
Sunday Brunch. The beignets !!
Can't wait to go back. Food was excellent, service was outstanding. A very nice place for a special occasion.
Jesse, the host, and the servers are always superb. Treat you like family!
Another outstanding Sunday dinner at the Comus Inn. We continue to love this place for its food, ambience, and atmosphere.
Beautiful location - the restaurant has sugarloaf mountains as its view. Try and sit on the window facing tables - the restaurant is like a corridor - thin and long with only 2 columns of tables. The maître d' is very warm and welcoming - my son was on crutches when we walked in and he took special care to show concern. Very soft spoken too. Service was great and so was the food.
This was our first visit. The trout and salmon and their sides were excellent. I gave the food 4 stars because my salmon was lukewarm. The service for our table was slow from beginning to end; we noted that the other servers were on the ball.
As usual everything was top shelf. From the moment you are warmly greeted at the door, til a handshake and thank you when leaving. Service is impeccable every time we come and the food is always great. It’s always fun to see what’s new and exciting on the menu. Food always exceeds our expectations in both quality and done to perfection. Will be back! Thanks
I wasn't crazy about our server. There were two of us in my party and she only brought us each a roll. I had to ask if they offer rolls at this restaurant. Most of the time, the server will automatically bring them to you if the restaurant offers them. I had to ask another server if we could have more rolls. She said they only bring one each in order for them to be warm. I asked if I got the green beans and I didn't like them could I get something else. She said no that they are made to order. I just thought that was strange. The portions are small too. I think the best part was the ambience.
One of our favorite restaurants for a ladies brunch. Food is always good. Interesting seas o mal alcoholic drink choices are available.
As always perfect!
We come frequently. Always a wonderful, welcoming experience.
