Wonderful historic country inn with outstanding food and gracious staff
We had an amazing time. We celebrated my sister's birthday and had a group of 6 people. Service was great, food was amazing, and the ambience was perfect.
Always an excellent experience by serving professionals!
Everything about our dining was wonderful - food, service, atmosphere! Menu has a great selection. Great place to celebrate special occasions
Great farm environment give peaceful mind. Service and Food is good for me.
Food and service was fantastic. Quiet ambiance and friendly host and waitress. Can’t recommend this place enough!
fantastic view, best brunch around, come with your family and enjoy this wonderful spot!
This place is always pleasant, the view is lovely and the staff friendly, the menu is creative.
Very nice pre Christmas dinner!
Wonderful setting in a beautiful historic inn. We had a wonderful brunch. Highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday dinner for our small office. The entire staff is warm and friendly and makes you feel special. The holiday decorations added to the warmth. The food was excellent, from the lobster bisque, salads, filet mignon and fish dishes. Vanilla creme brulee was quite satisfying. Cocktails and coffee rounded out our excellent meal. We will be back.
We love the Comus Inn. Something about the place just seems right. From when you arrive and Jessie greets you, to the time you leave everyone makes you feel special. A few miss steps on the food (lukeware coffee that was corrected), maybe due to the number of patrons and a large party downstairs.
A little disappointed, though it was our first meal there and sometimes you can't tell from just one. Especially since we went there to celebrate a birthday, perhaps our expectations were too high (and the restaurant did not acknowledge the note we made in the reservation that it was a birthday celebration). The food was OK to good; the service a little slow; the host was great fun. We might try again and maybe our lowered expectations will make us appreciate it more.
Excellent food and great service as usual
We were returning customers. We really enjoyed the meal. We were celebrating an Anniversary.
We chose this place, because of the atmosphere, service, and the food.
Special occasions, romantic, fancy, white cloth, amazing food!
The food was great and the service was what you would expect for a quality restaurant. The manager made his rounds throughout the night as also expected. What puts this restaurant on the next level is the host. From the second we walked in, he was attentive, informative, charming and knowledgeable. The guests in my party could not stop commenting on how any restaurant would be lucky to have such an asset!
Love this place! The dates are awesome and the filet and NY Strip were cooked to perfection 😊
Great anniversary lunch. Just beautiful!
As always, the food and service were perfect!!! We will definitely be back.
I was treating a friend to a nice lunch to lift her spirits, and the Comus Inn is a favorite, so we happily went there. However, this time we were both disappointed. My flatbread was slightly warm, so I sent it back for more heat. It came back warmer, but somewhat soggy (it was supposed to be a peach flatbread, but there were no peaches, so they substituted mushrooms). The other mishap came with the tea and coffee. The tea was served, but the coffee didn’t come. As the waiter explained: he had made a pot of coffee, but the kitchen folks drank it! My friend cancelled her order, since I had already finished my tea. All in all, it was a mediocre dining experience in a beautiful restaurant.
Our experience at Comus is CONSISTENTLY pleasant and satisfying! A friend and I meet there every couple of months for lunch and the time passes all too quickly! The service always is welcoming and efficient, and the menu selections creative and delicious! Of course the views of Sugarloaf Mountain are breathtaking, even on a cloudy, rainy day. I wish I lived closer! (I live in VA.)
The Comus Inn offers a vacation experience within a 45-minute drive from Washington, D.C. Lovely setting with a delicious weekend Brunch menu. Wonderful experience for families and photo-opportunities.
Gorgeous nature views. Spectacular Thanksgiving special buffet, delicious & creative. Good service. Well-worth the drive, not hard to get to from I-270. Make a reservation early!
We had our Thanksgiving brunch at the Comus Inn, and wow--it was pretty spectacular. Thanksgiving at Comus is a buffet, and it was laid out in such a manner as to make it easy to determine all the choices before filling one's plate. The food was well prepared and plentiful, with excellent selections. The staff was outstanding--from the host who seated us, to Kaitlin who assured we had all we needed at our table, to the bartenders and hostesses. Nobody was intrusive, it was simply spectacular service. We had a table with a fantastic view of Sugarloaf Mountain. Thank you, Comus Inn, for making our Thanksgiving special!
We were very pleased with the food, service and atmosphere for our Thanksgiving dinner. I would have requested a table downstairs had I known that's where the buffet was located. I am recovering from ankle/leg surgery, so going up and down the stairs was a bit challenging.
Wonderful! From entering The Comus Inn and smelling the delicious food to Donna, our exceptional server, there is not one thing I would change about our Thanksgiving meal. The Comus Inn has become a family tradition- we drive over 100 miles just to dine there. Thanks and kudos to the whole staff for making everything perfect!!
Nicest team ever.
I recommend this place to whomever wants to enjoy a cozy place with an outstanding food.
Had a great lunch. It was wonderful to see Jesse again.
Great experience. Will definitely go back again.
The view of Sugarloaf Mountain is awesome. The food and service are always excellent. Jessie, the host, makes the experience. His charm, warmth, congeniality, and interesting conversation puts the place over the top!
There is no match in the greater DEL-MAR-VA area for views, ambience, service, and fine dining.
The wait staff were all very attentive and good at balancing the timing of our drinks/food/dessert while not interrupting our conversation. Thank you for a very pleasant experience.
Horrible Service! We were at our table for 15 minutes, and the server came to the table next to us, and totally ignored us. We walked out and no one stopped us
Very nice special occasion restaurant. Historic building so rooms on main floor are cozy. We had Chesapeake Eggs Benedict which were quite good. The potato accompaniment was nice, although I prefer less spicy peppers on mine. The day we went there was a large wedding downstairs and they weren't taking walk-ins, but since we were travelling a distance I had made reservations. Perhaps because of this situation, we had to wait quite a while before anyone came to the front desk. I had requested a table with a view, which we got, but it was partially obstructed with a very large white tent that made it impossible to see the hills from all but a few tables at each end of the room. Apparently this tent stays up from spring through to late fall so I wouldn't describe this restaurant as having a good view of Sugarloaf Mountain as their website implies. Finally, I will definitely return. The food and ambiance were quite nice for brunch. The bar appeared well stocked and people were dressed casually enough that we didn't feel out of place in nice jeans and sweaters. I suspect dinner would be a bit fancier.
Lovely afternoon celebrating friendships
Table seating was initially unacceptable. Noise from sound system at an event downstairs or outside was annoying.
Never to return....
We had a very enjoyable afternoon celebrating my friend's birthday. It was a little bit of a drive but it was worth it.
Comus Inn is very well run and has great fresh locally sourced food! When you arrive you get greeted by the same Matre D that has been the providing class service for close to a decade. When you sit, you can’t help but think how wonderful it would be to have a wedding there. Then the food comes! Fresh and delicious! I have been eating at Comus Inn for a long time and have never had a dish I did not like. I have tried it all, from seafood to steaks, they do it all very well! Do yourself a favor and take a special date there, thank me latter!
