   Waiter never came back after food was served. The salmon was dry and not enough sauce on the plate. Same for the crab cakes. The steak was good. Broccolini was just about raw. On Mothers’s day- waiter did not take mothers’ orders first. Handed the check to my wife instead of me. Totally clueless about etiquette. Not personable either.

   The food was great. The service was slow. We were there due to a meeting of about 350 participants. The servers and kitchen should be quicker as this is a conference center. It was surprising that the service was not quick. The server was pleasant and apologetic so perhaps it was a kitchen issue that evening. Yes, I would eat there again!

   We had reservations for 5:45 before a basketball game at 7:00. We did not get seated until 6:00 and food was not served until 6:45. Restaurant was not packed. Server did give us a discount but overall experience was not good compared to other times there.

   Great place for a dinner with friends before Maryland Basketball games. Food is good and so is the service It's also a good lunch spot for folks who work at UMD.

    Servers were nice but very slow. Didn't like being hit with 20% built in gratuity for this. Food should have been served to everyone at once as well instead of two rounds. Restaurant is pricey but everyone in our party enjoyed their food. Recommend for special occasions once or twice a year which in a way is too bad. If service was better and food more reasonably priced, I might come here more often.

    Food was salty but the waitstaff was very pleasant for a larger party (we ended up switching to an eight table) and table and seating comfortable with space between so you could have private conversations etc

    Granted it was a busy night but despite a reservation we were seated at a gigantic table for 8 (there were 4 of us), which required yelling across the table. I asked to be seated in one of the empty 4 tops but was told those were "reserved", so we felt like second class citizens from the start. The food is mediocre but there are few options near the UMD campus. Probably better on a quieter night.

    The staff assisted me in surprising my wife with a personal card (with note inside) for our 3-month wedding anniversary. Everyone at the common was very accommodating and made us feel extremely welcome. They even provided complimentary mimosas for Sarah and I to enjoy.

    Both of our children were/are students at the University of Maryland and we look forward to our meals at The Common. We have grown to know some of the staff and we always feel so welcome! Food and drinks are great. Breakfast buffet is awesome!

    This is always a good spot for a lunch or dinner with friends before a Maryland basketball game. Lots of red in the dining room! Very good food and friendly service. Always a good choice!

    The Commons is losing customers every MD game day due to poor service/understaffing. They are the nearest restaurant for MD basketball games and they are NEVER properly staffed for the 2 hours before a home game. They seem surprised every time despite folks booking reservations. We arrived for our reservation 1 hour and 45 minutes before game time for burgers and wings. We waited 20 minutes for someone to come to our table with water. After another 10 minutes our guys went to the bar to get drinks and waited 30 minutes for bottled beer. While they were at the bar our waiter came and we placed our order for 6 items. WE NEVER SAY OUR WAITER AGAIN. After 40 minutes and 2 talks to the manager about getting our food as we had to leave we were told to go ahead and go to the game and don’t worry about paying for the food. Really? We went to the game and bought hotdogs there. Bra issue it is convenient we would go to the Commons before every home game. We now join the dozens of Terps fans who gather to grab a bite before EVERY home game who will NEVER step foot in the Commons ever again.

    Best to visit when the University is not in session. Like having your own hotel and restaurant available just for you! Starbucks coffee. Excellent menu choices for breakfast and everything is cooked to order! A traditional Colonial feel and décor! Great service!

    We were there following a basketball game - Go Terps! There wasn't enough wait staff to handle the surge. Our server was overwhelmed. Once we did get our orders in, the food came out in an appropriate amount of time. It was ok. We were seated immediately but the bar was packed. We'll probably be back again and will try some other dishes. It's an attractive venue.

    Poor service is consistent in this restaurant. You would think that they would be prepared on basketball and football game days/weekends. They are always short staffed, and the wait for food and drinks is always way too long.

    We stayed at the Marriott for the weekend. Saturday morning breakfast was a fiasco. Had to flag down a busboy after 15-20 minutes just to get waited on. That took forever. Then ordered Bloody Mary which took another 15 minutes while other tables were served and I asked the waitress twice where ours was. After a while the Manager brought the drink explaining that they could not serve alcohol before 9:00am, although it was 9:30am. Service was poor to say the best. Food was just OK and way overpriced. I went back in the afternoon to the Bar for a drink and again had to flag down someone to wait on me at the Bar. He waited on 2 others and ignored me. Dinner was Ok, again way overpriced, low selection menu and service just ok. Sunday morning we went for breakfast at 8:30 and were told it was a 15-20 minute wait and well over 50% of the tables were empty. We left, checked out and went someplace else. I mentioned to the Marriott folks that if the hotel weren't so convenient to football stadium that we would stay someplace else. I am for sure not going to eat at Common again unless some major changes are made. Hotel told me they have had many complaints about Common since the recent management changes. Right now I could not recommend Common to anyone.

    I love the ambiance here and the staff is always very friendly but very slow. It took forever for us to get drinks, our food and I even had to walk to the bar to get the check. And it was a very slow night; the restaurant wasn't very busy. I like it here, just wouldn't recommend if you are in a hurry.

    The food was good, took awhile but good for the price not hundred percent great. There was a time when drinks just sitting wait another waiter was kind enough to acknowledge and refill which a was them losing money but atleast she picked up the slack, went back later to sit at the bar when kids were asleep and almost a 15-20min wait for a drink and no one was their just a few people may be a staffing issue or due to down season. But the kitchen again did a good job and was fast but again it was deserts and two more drinks. Overall a good place but not the best

    We decided to eat at the restaurant in the hotel in which we were staying for the evening. However, that was a big mistake. The food was prepared as if a child was going to eat it. We shared this concern with our waitress who then, in turn, shared with the chef. We spoke with the chef; he defended his dish. The Common is not a place we will return to in Adelphi, Maryland.

    We have been to this restaurant many times with good experiences so thought it would be a good idea to celebrate here with my whole family as my daughter graduated. Although the restaurant was far from full the service was extremely slow and the waitstaff was preoccupied and seemed annoyed. One of the dinners was dropped in the kitchen so a new dinner had to be prepared it took a very long time and most of us were done when it finally came. We ordered dessert and one of our guests asked for coffee and the waiter said he would get to coffee orders after dessert orders. He never did get to coffee orders and by the time he came back we were done with our desserts. The meal was over 3 hours which was way too long and we were so disappointed. I was embarrassed about the whole experience.

    Service was very slow even though the place was nearly empty. Appetizers were good but the chicken on our salads was dry and the lettuce was very wet- it was washed but not dried and got kind of soggy.
