The food was exquisite. We had the scotch eggs, mushroom soup, rabbit pies and sticky toffee pudding. I haven't had this enjoyable a dining experience in quite a while. The service was wonderful and kind.
it was amazing eve!the food was good!amazing coctails. deffently we will come back
Such a wonderful, warm and cozy spot for breakfast. The food was incredibly satisfying and the ambience was even better.
Nice talking with to Joe about being a wine doctor(sommelier). The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly.
Loved the ambient, the charm of the space and the service was amazing
Amazing food, great service and ambience. We will be back!
Excellent food and service in a fantastic interior!
Service and food were wonderful. Great atmosphere. Staff very kind. Very enjoyable food experience.
Terrific time. Great food, ambience and service. One of my fav restaurants,
And the downstairs bar really cool
Cloctower is Chic and Food is Deliciois
The food was all excellent from the appetizers thru the dessert . The NY sirloin was the best steak I have ever had .
This is not a Michelin restaurant. How much does it cost to buy a Michelin star? This was basically diner food. Will not return
Perfect in every way start to finish!
Fantastic meal at The Clocktower to celebrate a birthday. Our server was wonderful and provided recommendations such as the NY Strip which did not disappoint. We also got the oysters, tuna tartare, scallop app, and lamb shepherds pie which were all equally delicious. The setting is elegant but comfortable with great photos on the wall and lively music. The Banoffee Sundae for dessert finished off the night perfectly. We cannot wait to return!
Was gifted a Starr Restaurants gift card and this is the restaurant we chose! Very happy we did - it was great for an intimate date night. Started with the Tuna Tartare and the seared diver scallops, but if I had to choose the tartare was more worth the price.
My boyfriend and I each ordered steak as a main course. Him, the 40 day dry aged strip and I ordered the filet - both were great and reasonably priced for New York! We both ordered mushrooms as a side and they were delicious and a large portion. Just wishing we tried out another side.
The staff was great. Friendly, but not too in your face. Attentive enough to feel like a fine-dining experience, but still allowed us to enjoy our meal. The general manager came in and touched down at our table. Which is always appreciated!
Would definitely go back and would definitely recommend to friends. Not to mention it’s in the Edition hotel, which is stunning!
We are glad we tried The Clocktower. The service was impeccable. The food was not as good as we would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant. The noise level was over the top and it was very difficult to converse and hear ourselves. We would tell a friend to try the restaurant, but would tell them the caveats about it not being awesome.
Great service, excellent cocktails, and a good amount of options
Everything was excellent. I missed this place while it was closed and was so glad to see reopen without missing a beat. The chicken tandoori was so good I’m ordering it again when I return later this month. The ambiance cannot be beat.
Forgot the birthday request, gave us other people’s dishes to go. The worst service!
One of the best meals we have had in NYC lately. They are doing a soft open post COVID in late October and will be back full they said sometime in November. Ambiance is great and our food was excellent
Awful! Oily greasy tasteless food. Absent server. We purchased a bottle of champagne and were told that they didn't have it and told that it was substituted with another bottle and were not told that the new bottle cost 50 dollars more! And then it took 30 minutes to get it served, then we were poured 3 glasses that were filled less then half (in normal sized glasses) and then told that it was empty? It was a normal sized bottle... so what happened to the rest of it? We were celebrating a friend's BDay and told the waiter that... he did not say happy birthday or offer a desert of any kind... not even a little scoop of ice cream. Felt very ignored and not cared about. Will never return and will warn friends about our terrible experience. Rated F for sure. Disappointing to say the least.
Everything was perfect! If I only had one thing to pick on, I’d say turn down the music, and maybe fewer tables to keep the noise level lower.
Great place, great food - British cuisine, nice ambience, interior.
We were disappointed that the round loaf of bread was not available - one of our favorites. The sticky toffee pudding was the most authentic we’ve had in the USA. The chicken/duck liver was so silky and delicious! Always fabulous service!
Great atmosphere, loved the bar. The food was very good, loved the sticky toffee pudding. Attentive and friendly service. Great anniversary date night.
From the food to the service, our party enjoyed it all. Andrew helped us pick great dishes for us to share. Nothing missed.
I took my husband here for his birthday for a true Michelin star experience and The Clocktower exceeded our expectations! From the ambience, to the cocktails, to the stunning food—everything was five stars! An incredible tucked away NY date night spot!
Service and food not up to pre Covid stantards
SUPERB! The Food was excellent and the service great! Wonderful experience.
Glad to be back at the ClockTower with the professionals in hospitality industry !!
Amazing service with a wonderful menu perfectly prepared.
One of the BEST NYC experiences in dining !
Birthday dinner, service was amazing and we love the decor
Club or pub? After a year-and-a-half COVID shutdown, Clocktower had reopened just the day before our visit. Through the relatively buzzy urban/contemporary downstairs cocktail lounge, we headed upstairs to what appeared a grand, private London “gentleman’s club—soaring, wood-paneled dining room, cozy fireplace, British-genre paintings, separate billiard room and a 2nd bar. But looking closer at the uncovered tables, bare wood floors and the pub-like bar, we were a bit confused. And maybe that was the point. Elegant scale, casual seating. Formal service, warm vibe (thanks to our charming server, Vinicius). Straightforward gastro-pub menu, prepared for refined tastes.
I’m looking forward to going back as Clocktower gains momentum (there were only three other tables being served on the night we went). At the same time, there’s plenty to enjoy—like the unharried staff and low noise level—before the crowds rush in.
Bday cake cutting fee of $8 per person if u bring your own
Service was slow despite an empty dining room.
I brunch time gem.
Very Very Noisy. Music is blasting from the bar downstairs. Food was average and not very creative. During a long wait for food to arrive I noticed that food being served did not stop any ongoing conversations or leave an impression. Chicken looked a lot like Applebee's. To ensure that I left with a memorable experience the waitress screwed up my bill by giving herself a $75 tip for a $140 meal. Maybe the noise was so loud that she couldn't hear herself think in this restaurant owned by chain owner Steven Starr. Met friends at Juniors later that night. No one talks when cheesecake arrives.
I was a bit disappointed by the Clock tower for multiple reasons. First the table setting was not proper to a Michelin star restaurant as it was without sheets secondly we taught the value to money paid was poor as we paid a lot and the food was kind of common (hamburger, lobster,...) and third the place is really noisy.
Whilst the food was excellent, we felt 'rushed' as diners. The waiting staff were a mixture of extremely competent and professional and the opposite, couldn't be bothered and didn't care. For a michelin star restaurant our expectations were far higher than the experience was in reality.
The Clocktower was one of the best meals of our lives. We had lunch here as a special meal on our honeymoon, and we felt swept up in such a warm and welcome experience from the moment we reached our table. The sommelier brought us two incredible glasses of champagne on the house, the staff checked in on us and were so lovely throughout our entire meal, and they gave us complimentary bon bons at the end of a truly beautiful meal. The food was decadent, the staff was lovely, and we felt totally welcomed and cared for. Our favorite dish was the Berners Tavern Mac and Cheese, and my husband fell in love with the Lancaster Chicken. Every bite of our three course meal was perfect. We will definitely come back on our anniversaries. We're so happy we dined here.
I went there for business breakfast meeting. It is perfect for that purpose. The food was very good, service excellent and while not inexpensive, it was a value.
The Clocktower is rated 4.6 stars by 1431 OpenTable diners.
