What Insiders Are Saying
The Clocktower in the Edition Hotel is a Flatiron facsimile of a popular restaurant in London. And it works here just as well as it works over there.
It was an amazing time. The service was on point. Food top notch. I can for a special occasion and they did not disappoint. I look forward to my next dining experience with them.
Only go for the bar. You can do far better for food.
Big dilemma!! Service at The Clocktower was excellent but food was adequate. Too bad! We were welcome with a smile and a happy birthday note on the table followed by a glass of champagne. The disappointment came with the food. Hudson Valley Foie Gras And Chicken Liver Parfait - salty, served on a bed of lentils (not mentioned in the description of the dish) apparently served with a brioche toast (read white bread)
Brooklyn burrata resembled cottage cheese lacked in flavor with an occasional coarsely ground pieces of salt sans fava beans. Long Island duck breast was fine but not fine enough to please a guest at Michelin-starred restaurant. Berkshire Pork Chop was excellent and it saved the evening as it was ordered by the birthday girl. I could not wait for dessert but the disappointment continued. Earl Grey Soufflé with cognac cream was anemic in looks and taste. I think they forgot the cognac. Soufflé and birthday candles do not mesh well therefore a little, tiny b'day cake arrived at the table. It looks sweet and adorable but without flavor. It was a very expensive dinner which I expected it to be otherwise I would not have chosen The Clocktower but I expected to be wowed for the price. It is a beautiful space with ambiance and great service but the chef might have had a night off on Friday March 15th.
I could sit in The Clock Tower for a week just looking at the fabulous photography collection. The food was excellent and our server was a true professional - she appeared like magic when we needed something but was not over attentive. It was a late lunch so not very crowded, noise level was low. I will return for sure.
The bartender made me some amazing tequila cocktails (no margarita or trendy over the top spicy mezcal bs.) in the restaurant, service was attentive and smart. My burger was cooked perfectly and fries weren't soggy, plus there were only like 10 so I didn't feel like an enormous cow rolling out of there. Overall good times.
Considering this is a Michelin starred restaurant at a reasonable price point, I would recommend it. Wonderful option for cocktails in the Lobby Bar and then dinner at The Clocktower for a date night.
Not the ideal place for a business dinner. We were interrupted every two minutes. For dinner waitstaff are keen to get you out of your table. It was a very annoying and disruptive dinner with two clients.
Great birthday celebration with friends here! Servce was impeccable and the souffle ad banoffee tart were unique and delicious highlights of our meal.
Love everything about this place. Except for the prices. Good for a special night out.
Everything was good but the duck entree was a little on the salty/sweet side - at least for my taste.
The experience was average. For a large party we were seated at a small table despite there being other larger spaces that remained available throughout our entire meal. There wasn't even room for a bottle of water on the table!
amazing food, flavor and presentation. Service was wonderful and detailed. Sommelier very knowledgeable and accommodating. Hopefully return soon.
Great food & presentation- need a few more entrees though
Outstanding food. Attentive and precise service. Great wine program to boot. Will definitely be returning.
I’ve been to this restaurant multiple times-brunch, afternoon tea, lunch. I’ve loved every meal I’ve had here leading up to this last visit. It was my first dinner experience here-I ordered the risotto, which was very undercooked. I guess I could have sent it back but I didn’t want to be fussy. My friend got the tilefish and was underwhelmed by it’s flavor. She also got a side of potato gratin which she felt was under seasoned-it was. I had seen pictures on Instagram of the risotto and it usually had sautéed mushrooms and some type of green on it but mine included shaved truffles which is great, but I think the dish needed some contrast. I also got an orange cordial which was mostly iced so I couldn’t detect the creamsicle flavor that had been hyped from my server. The servers are awesome by the way. My friend and I split the banoffee tart tatine for dessert-transcendent. Hands down, the star of the night and made up for the not so great meal before. I will dream of that dish for years to come. I may go back, becausd even the best restaurants have some misses and this is one of the best
Expensive but very good food
Great food and impeccable service. I would definitely recommend for a special occasion.
As germans who love "full english breakfast" this was the best we ever had.
The style of the restaurant and the fact that it was almost empty in the morning, we felt very comfortable.
Amazing location, very good food, great wine list.
We loved the lobster, the scallops in both ways and the duck.
Take a tour on all the rooms, including the bar and the billiard room.
Food was excellent - all courses and all four of us. Sommelier was only marginally helpful, however. Although the wine he helped select was very good, it was earthy when we clearly said we wanted fruity and it didn't appeal at all to one of our party.
Great service, good, ambience and attentiveness all packaged in an elegant but low key fashion.
Enjoy returning all the time!
It was another spotless dinner. Food always come perfect, cooked the way we like (rear, that is often hard to accomplish in may restaurant). We have venison, duck and turbo this time. Venison perfect, rear, was melting in your mouth and preparation was not cover juicy flavor and tenderness of the meat. My turbo was meaty and proper the way i like 100%, I have sauce from Tilefish and beets on the side. Sauce was tasty and beets.....out of this word! I love beets and have roasted beets many times but the one at Clocktower were non like others. They almost looked like they were smoked before (not worry not smoke flavor) , surgery, juicy , almost pleasantly chewy, dewy, and the color so deep ....Space is lovely. We seat at the same table and people from black and white photos on the wall start to feel like our dinning companions. Crew is always great, Music is also so refreshing from another places. Out server Martine is always great. See you soon Clocktower. Recommend 100%
The food was solid but unremarkable considering the prices. The twenty minute wait with a reservation was troublesome. The noise level because of the hard surfaces was difficult. One end of the table of six could not hear people seated two seats away.
The menu is very heavy and over priced for what it is. We ordered wine by the glass and they were very chinsy with the pour.
Excellent food and service. We really enjoyed our meal from starters, to mains, to desserts (don't miss the tarte)
Disgusting. They had a piece plastic in niece's food. Undercooked pork. The most unbelievably bad dinner I've ever had. They should be embarrassed
This restaurant exceeded our expectations. The food was incredible as well as the service. I would love to come back again sometime!
The hotel uses fragrance that polluted the experience
The. Wine paring was out of sync and uncorrected till the third course
Food itself was common and unremarkable
Staffs were great and foods were good. They got a fine wine list.
So good went back the following week and plan to make it a regular dining expeicne.
The server was amazing. The food was delicious and the ambiance was so beautiful and romantic. We also got some Prosecco and a dessert for our anniversary celebration. The manager was also super sweet.
The service was ok. The waiter did not explain the meals that well.
My 2 friends had the dover sole, it was so small and tasted so fishy. Like it was frozen fish stick
I had the duck, it was like chewing raw, tough, fatty meat. Horrible!
The prices were ridiculous for this quality and quantity. I don’t mind paying for a great meal but this was un acceptable.
This is my 4th time dinning with them and have booked 2 corporate events in the past. All amazing experiences
I can’t believe this is the same restaurant. Did they change chef or management?
We Will not be returning .
Food was very good, service was great. The only issue that I had with the Resturant was their wine list.
They have as many as 500 different wines however the average price of the wine is about $350.00.
Only few wines are in price range of $80.00.....
Really nice experience from the entertainingly and appropriately droll Australian hostess to a great bar with an incredibly well informed and yet non condescending waitress to a good dining room team, service is very well done without being over the top. The pool room was a very pleasant distraction and the food was very, very good. Only complaint is that the wine list is disproportionately overpriced even if remarkably broad.
Food is excellent, very impressive wine list and waiters are really nice and helpful. That was a perfect evening and I definitely recommend this place.
it was a nice atmosphere too big and not easy to converse. Food was good and sevice was excellent.
Bad experience! Bread was given to me after first ate out and when I ask can I have more bread they said 3 dollars for 2 pcs! I had ate in many restaurants and this is the first time the restaurant charged me bread cost!
And when I paid cash including 20% tips they even didn’t say thanks. This is the last time I’ve been here. And don’t recommend to anyone
A lovely room up a long winding staircase. Look to your left upon entering and you will find an elevator. There are several beautifully designed room..quite "clubby" in a Bristishy way. It is also very comfortable.
Service was excellent and the food was well prepared. I ordered coffee with the meal as it was an early lunch. As coffee is served in cup and saucer, it empties upon a few sips.
Although the managers, waiters, and bus people passed by frequently (I was at a table near the aisle) their cursory glances missed the empty cup too frequently. When I did ask for a refill, it took quite awhile. I suggest they take note of single diners especially as we do enjoy our coffee.
A small favor to ask and I look forward to my next visit at the restaurant.
I went to The Clocktower with a friend for Restaurant Week. The food was excellent and I will return.
