We have lived in the area for 21 years and never visited. It is a landmark restaurant in the area. After this first visit I will return again and again. The food was great and the service was impeccable. Make sure you make reservations. I choose a whine from a small list that was on the table and I was pleased by the value for the bottle.
Always a nice place to dine, but lately, the prices have really risen, and the quality of the food no better. Have yet to have a good piece of prime rib there - always chewy. But the vegetables served are hard. We asked our server if we could order cooked vegetables, and the reply was that it wouldn't matter because that's how they are served and that there were many complaints about the hard vegetables. Plus, there's too much of a delay between the kitchen and the table as butter won't even melt on the vegetables.
Always an enjoyable meal with great menu offerings, excellent specials, great atmosphere and exceptional service. Always recommended!
we love this restaurant for our meeting with old friends.....the wait staff is excellent...make you feel at home....& pete, at the bar, is great, too
Delicious food, but the service was forgetful. Will def be back soon!
We come every year to celebrate our birthdays.
Always a fabulous meal with great service
Very disappointed. Had reservations made well in advance but seated terrible spot. Prime rib was tough. Friends filet migion overdone. Waitress very busy. Practically threw the desert menus at us. Prices higher than show on line. Dinner for four with one drink no dessert 192.00 without the tip. Will not return
Very good comfort food with excellent service and a warm atmosphere. All staff is readily accommodating. The servers are clear with specials and answers to any questions. Additionally, all staff is welcoming and cheerful. All around a very pleasant place to get plenty of delicious, filling meals. I absolutely recommend this place for dinner or lunch. I have not been here for breakfast or brunch so I can't offer an opinion on them.
Always a favorite of mine - comfortable, old school, solid service, yummy.
Relaxing atmosphere, good food and plenty of easy parking
Wonderful as usual but I was disappointed that you no longer serve Snapper soup. If you have it on some special occasion I would certain like to know. You made it and served it very well.
OUR SERVER, CHERYL, was the best waitress I have ever encountered. No intrusive, very helpful and always there when we needed her.
as for the interior of the restaurant, there were two girls around the age of 12 running around. It made me nervous to see them mover all over - i was expecting them to knock over a waiter carring a ltry of food or running into a patrol.
As always, this restaurant delivers a fantastic meal. I love coming here for special meals with family and friends. The service is wonderful and the staff always does there best to accommodate special requests. I love the old world feel of the decor and their fireplaces. I love visiting this place in Historic Downtown Clinton!
Always a great meal and a great value . The staff is freindly and the atmosphere is a welcome one.
The Clinton House has it all - excellent food, beautiful ambiance and knowledgeable waiters. I have been going here for the past 30 years and it is NEVER a disappointment!
I/WE HAVE VISITED THE CLINTON HOUSE MANY TIMES IN THE PAST. UNFORTUANTELY MY FILET MIGNON WAS NOT UP TO THE NORMAL STANDARDS THAT I HAVE HAD BEFORED. IT WAS A FAIR PIECE OF MEAT, AT THE BEST. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
The Clinton House is always a fantastic dining experience. The food, including the oysters and the Filet mignon au blue, was pure perfection. The entire staff was welcoming and on top of their game. We had a wonderful table by the fireplace which added to a special date night. This restaurant is a neighborhood treasure that shouldn’t be missed.
We arrived for a reschedule office Christmas party. The parking across the street was easy. The staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful in recommendations. Food was excellent, hot and well displayed. The location was easy for a after dining stroll through the town of Clinton..
Great menu and good choice of specials. Many long time favorites that are hard to find elsewhere. Very comfortable atmosphere.
Excellent service and food as usual. Anna Maria as always greeted us and seated us at a booth as I requested.
Very pleased with our meal ! Their dinner specials which include salad, coffee, and dessert are wonderful !
Everything was very nice, the service was great, food was wonderful.
Hostess, Julie, welcomed us warmly, showing us to our pre-set table and assuring we were
comfortable. (Julie is such a pleasant and gracious person!)
Our food (and the menu, too) was very much to everyone’s liking. Water/other beverages
were kept re-freshened.
Lighting, ambiance, seating, and ambient sound were all perfectly suited to our liking.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the food, each other’s company and the relaxed time
We’ll definitely be back!
While this restaurant gets very high marks, on two occasions I have been disappointed on the payment process. For example, we are told that you cannot provide separate checks, and yesterday we were not able to use a bank gift card.
Great place for dinner and drinks !
Everything was excellent- food and service - especially the fireplace
We have recently moved to this neighborhood from UES. Manhattan so we have been looking for restaurants with good food and ambience.
New Year’s Day with family.
Always great meals, both appetizer & main course. Good wine choices.
Great dining atmosphere and menu. Servers are always pleasant.
We enjoyed our Christmas celebration at the Clinton House that is perched to the west of a river that runs through the charming, historic town of Clinton. A Norman Rockwell experience. Food delicious, servers attentive and ambiance perfect
