This is my second time coming here. Good ambiance. Nice selection of wine. Special of the day was excellent (grilled branzino). Wish they had more clams on the menu though!
The Clam is a "must visit" restaurant every time I'm in New York City. The talented kitchen and staff always deliver an impressive experience. Attention to detail and staff training are important, and it shows in the preparation of each dish. For example, I've never experienced a broken shell, or improperly cleaned oyster in the raw bar. The quality of seafood is among the best I've experienced in the city; even when compared to the more famous and expensive restaurants. Standouts on this visit were the tuna tartare, with a rich umami from the truffle and soy sauce, served with crisp wasabi crackers. The clam slider in a rich buttery brioche was mouthwatering and the filet mignon was fork tender over a sauce Bordelaise. The Clam features an impressive and compelling wine list, curated by wine director David Giuliano. Service was friendly, attentive and knowledgable. I cant wait for my next visit to The Clam!
Although I rarely provide feedback this is a favorite restaurant not only for the food but the management of the restaurant which is cordial and warm.
Great brunch. Loved the atmosphere. We can’t wait to come back for dinner
Very good seafood restaurant with reasonable (for NYC) prices. Specially good were the bluefin tuna and clam chowder appetizers and the flounder Entree. Good, quiet ambiance and good service. Decent wine list with a range of choices
The Clam is one of our very favorite restaurants in NYC. Why? It feels like an intimate neighborhood restaurant but it's food is among the best you'll find in the City. They do the "must-haves" out of this world - like the crispy chicken, but they also have inventive dishes that are hard to find elsewhere and you'll come back to time and time again - like Spaghetti and (whole) Clams and Lobster & Clam sliders. Why else? - the chef - Mike Price and his staff, are attentive and talented.
Delicious food, creatively seasoned. Clam chowder is an award winner - and that from someone from Boston. Steamers were sweet and clean. Butter lettuce and asparagus salad so fresh with a dash of sea salt. Just right. Friendly, professional service. 2pm was a perfect time for lunch. First of many future experiences. Thanks to this talented group.
My wife and I love this place!
Dinner here two straight nights!.. Mite be back for a third night!.. Everything we have had has been very good. Two things you must try, the fried clams & the clam dip..Really, the whole menu is outstanding..
Little Owl is a family favorite and now equally love The Clam!
We love The Clam! Every time we are in NYC, we make sure to visit and get our fix. The service is warm and friendly - love Alex! And the clam chowder is a must.
Lovely Village restaurant - great food, great ambience, great service.
Everything was very, very good..
Excellent as always....
Outstanding meal as usual! One of my absolute favorites!!
Their seafood is really delicious but pricey. Better go during happy hour so you could have some discount.
Excellent service , food was delicious!!
Will definitely be back!!
It is the perfect neighborhood restaurant. Great location with sunshine coming in through the windows. Attentive warm staff. Food is always terrific with a small but excellent wine list.
I had what I came for, the lobster sliders, and they were delicious.
Great local spot. Food is delicious and always fresh!
We sit outside, beautiful evening! Great neighborhood restaurant!
Always an amazing experience! Food is always delicious and the freshest seafood in NYC! Staff always extremely nice and professional. I never miss an opportunity to dine at The Clam when I am in NYC!
Wonderful dishes served by attentive and warm staff
One of our favorites! Always friendly, attentive service and excellent food. The Mexican corn is amazing.
Everything is super tasty here. The clam lobster sliders are a must. The cocktails are all fantastic except the watermelon tequila. The cinnamon doesn’t work. But the basil drink. Amaze. Definitely get the ice cream sandwich. Def get the tuna. And their entree on top of gnocchi was really scrumptious. Everything just tasted real clean and not complex. Flavorful
Check it out
West Village secret Baratta. Fish Tacos and Parker roll are all excellent
In the average. Very noisy
Everyone is so lovely! Great service!
The clam spaghetti was delicious! This is a West Village institution for a reason. Great food, outdoor seating, and a fun wine list. Recommended.
We always put the Clam on our dinner list whenever we go to New York. The food and service are always wonderful and welcoming, the restaurant cozy and the neighborhood charming. There simply isn't anything with which to take issue, and that's a rarity in the restaurant world.
Wonderful food and wine. Attentive and kind service. One of our favorites that seems to be improving with every visit. We will return.
Food was awesome but only 2 sliders for $29?!?!?!? With order of fries $36. Would have been worth it if 3 sliders on plate.
The food is really not very good. Been there twice.mthis time Inhad the clam and lobster sliders. Tell me how a restaurant called “clam” serves clam strips with no bellies and seems to have no idea what to do with a clam? Avoid,
A beautiful intimate spot with Felix seafood offerings. Loved rev seafood tower and the clam and lobster sliders were delicious!
The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is great. The only problem is the noise level - if you have any hearing problems, this place gets very noisy!
Just ok. Oysters need work. I wasn’t blown away. But it didn’t suck either. Just “was”. Salmon was probably the best thing we had
Went recently for an anniversary dinner. The food was absolutely delicious...definitely a good place to go for quality sea food. Had the salmon and my wife had the flounder both of which we enjoyed The restaurant is in a fairly quiet west village block and is in a cute space. Romantic vibe but definitely gets loud when the room is full which it was the night we were there.
Overall great experience and will go back
I love The Clam having eaten their many, many times. Tonight I was disappointed to see they had increased prices quite a bit, adding $5 to the pasta and clams entree which is a favorite. My other challenge with tonight’s meal was how ridiculously loud it was all night. The noise level had everyone talking louder and louder to be heard. I wished we had sat outside.
Awesome. Order the clam dip!
Fantastic... flounder was delicious and the drinks were top notch!
