Evan and Alex are cool. We had 4 different waiters while we were served. Not cool
Terrific ambience and food is delicious!
Another strange and disappointing experience at the Clam. We had a few of these previously and haven’t returned in while but were willing to give it another try tonight. Again, mixup at the host stand where an open table was offered instead to a party that arrived after us for a later reservation. Additionally we were given a hard time for bringing our own wine (even though we are happy to pay their $35 corkage). We left and had a lovely meal at the Leroy House next door instead.
Thanks for giving us another try. I’m sorry your experience was disappointing. It pains us to hear that you felt we chose to seat a later party prior to yours. We had understood that you preferred to wait for a finishing table instead of taking one of two open that were offered. While we were happy to uncork the first bottle, we limit corkage to one. We're sorry this disrupted your night & that we didn't get a chance to turn things around. Thank you for your feedback. Laura, GM laura@theclamnyc
Had a wonderful lunch and to be honest, I didn't want to rate the noise level because I don't remember. It was a busy day, but my attention was on my lunch companion and the great food! Definitely on my list of faves for the area.
Rather overpriced for the portion sizes.
I love this restaurant! I celebrated my one year relationship with my partner at this establishment this past weekend and the entire experience was so pleasant. While this was not my first time dining at The Clam, it was certainly my most memorable. While it's definitely a restaurant that one would consider a "treat", it by no means is a bank-breaking restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who is looking for a great location to celebrate an anniversary or a birthday. The food, service, and experience are delightful!
I really do love this place, and so do a million others as evidenced by the traffic jam by the bar when you arrive. They are strict about parties arriving on time, which we did, but they took too long to seat us. The host offered to comp a round of drinks for our inconvenience (which is a nice touch), but then the drinks showed up on the bill! That said, still a great spot. Amazing food, friendly staff.
This was my second visit and it is now my new favorite restaurant. I have converted my family as well. The food, cocktails, wine, service and ambiance were all spectacular.
The food and service were both fabulous. We shared a peach and arugula salad (very tasty dressing) and the tartare appetizer. Then had the organic salmon for an entree. The salmon was cooked perfectly, with interesting and enjoyable flavors. Good sized portions, and they didn’t charge extra to split the meal for us. It is on our list to definitely go again. Only gripe - the $4 per oyster price seemed excessive. While they apparently have a cheaper happy hour price, that is not when we like to go. All in all, very good experience.
Always an outstanding experience -- great service, incredible food, nice atmosphere.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in NY. Every time I come back to visit i visit. Lobster Fried clam sliders are a handful of heaven and spaghetti and clams is better than my mom’s - but don’t tell her!
A lovely neighborhood spot - food always delicious and special and the wait staff is impeccable. One of our favorites!
Really nice atmosphere, great food and wine
This is my second time coming here. Good ambiance. Nice selection of wine. Special of the day was excellent (grilled branzino). Wish they had more clams on the menu though!
The Clam is a "must visit" restaurant every time I'm in New York City. The talented kitchen and staff always deliver an impressive experience. Attention to detail and staff training are important, and it shows in the preparation of each dish. For example, I've never experienced a broken shell, or improperly cleaned oyster in the raw bar. The quality of seafood is among the best I've experienced in the city; even when compared to the more famous and expensive restaurants. Standouts on this visit were the tuna tartare, with a rich umami from the truffle and soy sauce, served with crisp wasabi crackers. The clam slider in a rich buttery brioche was mouthwatering and the filet mignon was fork tender over a sauce Bordelaise. The Clam features an impressive and compelling wine list, curated by wine director David Giuliano. Service was friendly, attentive and knowledgable. I cant wait for my next visit to The Clam!
Although I rarely provide feedback this is a favorite restaurant not only for the food but the management of the restaurant which is cordial and warm.
Great brunch. Loved the atmosphere. We can’t wait to come back for dinner
Very good seafood restaurant with reasonable (for NYC) prices. Specially good were the bluefin tuna and clam chowder appetizers and the flounder Entree. Good, quiet ambiance and good service. Decent wine list with a range of choices
The Clam is one of our very favorite restaurants in NYC. Why? It feels like an intimate neighborhood restaurant but it's food is among the best you'll find in the City. They do the "must-haves" out of this world - like the crispy chicken, but they also have inventive dishes that are hard to find elsewhere and you'll come back to time and time again - like Spaghetti and (whole) Clams and Lobster & Clam sliders. Why else? - the chef - Mike Price and his staff, are attentive and talented.
Delicious food, creatively seasoned. Clam chowder is an award winner - and that from someone from Boston. Steamers were sweet and clean. Butter lettuce and asparagus salad so fresh with a dash of sea salt. Just right. Friendly, professional service. 2pm was a perfect time for lunch. First of many future experiences. Thanks to this talented group.
My wife and I love this place!
Dinner here two straight nights!.. Mite be back for a third night!.. Everything we have had has been very good. Two things you must try, the fried clams & the clam dip..Really, the whole menu is outstanding..
Little Owl is a family favorite and now equally love The Clam!
We love The Clam! Every time we are in NYC, we make sure to visit and get our fix. The service is warm and friendly - love Alex! And the clam chowder is a must.
Lovely Village restaurant - great food, great ambience, great service.
Everything was very, very good..
Excellent as always....
Outstanding meal as usual! One of my absolute favorites!!
Their seafood is really delicious but pricey. Better go during happy hour so you could have some discount.
Excellent service , food was delicious!!
Will definitely be back!!
It is the perfect neighborhood restaurant. Great location with sunshine coming in through the windows. Attentive warm staff. Food is always terrific with a small but excellent wine list.
I had what I came for, the lobster sliders, and they were delicious.
Great local spot. Food is delicious and always fresh!
We sit outside, beautiful evening! Great neighborhood restaurant!
Always an amazing experience! Food is always delicious and the freshest seafood in NYC! Staff always extremely nice and professional. I never miss an opportunity to dine at The Clam when I am in NYC!
Wonderful dishes served by attentive and warm staff
One of our favorites! Always friendly, attentive service and excellent food. The Mexican corn is amazing.
Everything is super tasty here. The clam lobster sliders are a must. The cocktails are all fantastic except the watermelon tequila. The cinnamon doesn’t work. But the basil drink. Amaze. Definitely get the ice cream sandwich. Def get the tuna. And their entree on top of gnocchi was really scrumptious. Everything just tasted real clean and not complex. Flavorful
Check it out
West Village secret Baratta. Fish Tacos and Parker roll are all excellent
In the average. Very noisy
