This was my first time brunching at The Clam. I would absolutly go back. The outdoor set up in great. Service is fantastic. And the choice of menu options - especially the Happy Hour bites - are amazing: peel and eat shrimp, fritters, chips... We were delighted even before our meals arrived. I look forward to the next visit...
In these days of outdoor dining, the Clam provides the best atmosphere for a chilly winter night with plenty of heaters and convivial lighting. We had the sliders, chowder and Parker House rolls. But, I had the bouillabaise which was the best I have ever had. It really felt like dining in a upscale restaurant even though we were sitting outside on the sidewalk.
Food was good but quantity was so so. The outdoor dining space - plants/heaters were great. It was a true outdoor experience.
Great new covered outdoor patio/deck with individual space heaters (I'd still wear a coat, though). Food was delicious. Will be back.
Loved it! Staff, food and drink were terrific!
Great locale for outdoor seating during COVID. They have space heaters.
Food was amazing. Service was great. Would definitely recommend and come again.
Fish was excellent. Clam Chowder was incredible. Perfect for cold weather. It was just too cold. More heaters outside, please.
Very tasty food and extra friendly service.
Nice outside setup with heaters. Great drinks and food was excellent.
Well set up for warm outdoor dining. Felt very comfortable from a COVID POV. Our second time dining here. If we lived in the neighborhood, this would be our regular neighborhood restaurant.
The Clam always exceeds my expectations. Great food wine and ambience. They excel in market fresh seafood, and the staff is amazing.
Small family gathering- excellent service, food, and ambiance. Highly recommend this restaurant!!! Cannot compliment the food and service enough. Fantastic experience
Hi Lucy, We are so happy you had a great time and thanks very much for your kind words! We can't wait to have you back in. All the best, Laura, GM
The alcohol prices seemed inflated, and we dine out often at top restaurants. Also, they charge the COVID-19 optional charge and never told us. Not worth it when there are so many other options in the neighborhood.
We wanted to reach out regarding your concerns with our COVID charge. As permitted by NYC law, we are encouraged to add up to a 10% surcharge to cover myriad costs associated with operating responsibly at this time: we chose 5% instead. COVID has wreaked havoc on restaurants and their ability to continue to employ many who rely on us for survival. We've noted this charge on all menus: it is a surcharge and not distributed in any form as gratuity. We would happily remove the charge if requested.
I finally decided to try The Clam, and had a most wonderful experience. I sat in front in the covered and heated area - which has a nice view of Hudson Street. I started with one of the Parker House rolls plus the roasted Brussels sprouts. Delicious. I then had the halibut served over winter squash and eggplant. Just amazing. I finished with the warm apple tart, which was the perfect way to end the meal. The service was excellent, too. A fantastic dining choice in the West Village.
Hi TK, We are so pleased you made it in and that you had a lovely time! The rolls are really delicious, it's true. Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Warmly, Laura, GM
Consistently great food, American bistro seafood oriented menu, some of the best chowder you're likely to find in New York, and attentive, friendly staff make The Clam a winner. Plus, good Covid distance dining with heaters and good space.
They were pretty much rushing us out cause they said they had reservations but 20 minutes after of the time limit that they told us and the reservations still didn’t arrive and still didn’t look as full as they describe. Out of that the food was super delicious the view to the st Luke Place is awesome and the waiters/waitresses are really nice people
Clam chowder was great and they let us split one order. Bronzino was terrific. Apple tart for dessert was just OK. Very comfortable dining outside. Will happily return.
Wonderful service! Covid measures are decent. Foods are excellent!
Delicious!!
My wife and I have eaten at the Clam before and loved it! This time we brought a friend who had never been. The food was delicious, the staff were very helpful in choosing an alternative when our initial wine choice was unavailable.
The also turned on a heater that kept us nice and toasty and made our experience another 5 star meal. We live in the neighborhood and are fortunate to have access to great restaurants like the Clam!
we love this restaurant. Fantastic corner location, good food, great wine selection. We cant wait to return again soon.
Good servers with good food. Good for for everyday dining, but nothing amazing. Added a COVID charge that I have never seen at any other restaurants, but they ended up deleting the charge. I don’t mind the charge, but let your customers know in advance to avoid a surprise.
But our table and the manager was horrible. First sat us next to sewer where it smelled and she move the table to next to fire hydrogen. Meanwhile I saw 2 open table for 2. I assume she was saving the table for her regulars. I thought you want a new customers and want them back, but most likely I would not return to this restaurant.
Great Happy Hour
Delicious. Lovely spot on Hudson St. I had Thanksgiving here last year and was happy to return...
Great spot. Highly recommend
It’s my favorite place in NYC! The staff is so nice!
Really nice brunch on a little belt autumn day.
Last minute resv, outdoor seating which took away a little on the ambience..The Food and service were topnotch...Would definitely come back.
Neighborhood place. Love!!
The lobster and clam sliders were as good as the reviews say they are. We knew going to a seafood restaurant it would be on the pricey side, but the bottles of wine are also expensive, so overall it was a very expensive meal. We ordered a bunch of dishes for 3 people to all share. Most of the food was brought out at the same time, so the hot dishes got cold quickly since we were dining outdoors.
I was excited about trying this place because I have always been an unconditional fan of Market Table, for many years now.
I went to The Clam for dinner and really liked the way they have set up their outdoor space. It’s very cosy and comfortable. We ordered drink which were delicious. We shared the mussels in Thai sauce and they were very tasty. My friend ordered the spaghetti with clams and the portion was a bit small for his taste but he said it was flavorful and it also was beautifully presented. I had the crab cake with sides from the specials and it was nice. The fries were well fried and crispy and everything was hot and good. BUT, everything was very salty and I thought that was a pity. The Thai sauce was extremely salty, the crab cake had lots of salt on top of it, the fries were over salted, the remoulade and even the spaghetti.
We were hungry, we ate it all. No problem. When the waiter cleared the table and asked how everything was, I did point it out though, and got a: uh huh, would you like some dessert? I didn’t expect anything special, an “oh, that’s unfortunate, sorry to hear” would have already been enough. But since the service wasn’t overall very friendly, this did bother me a bit.
The situation is difficult, we are all tense, but let’s all try to make things as pleasant as possible for everybody.
Great place for friends to enjoy seafood & good vibes
Very accommodating...
Nice location, helpful staff, and food was very good. We really enjoyed our meal!
they’ve done such a great job with outdoor dining
great value for money
has the vibe of the "old" Greenwich village
I had such a great time at The Clam. I was celebrating my birthday with a couple of friends. Our server, Evan, was PHENOMENAL. Even with the complications of COVID-19, he was attentive & personable. He was definitely a great part of my birthday celebration & I appreciate it. I can’t wait for my next visit at The Clam. The sliders are AMAZING.
Solid spot for some casual seafood on a neighborhood corner.
Really good. Service was a bit slow but can’t fault anyone for that in covid days
We had the best Wellfleet Oysters at The Clam on this visit. Terrific!
