The Circular at The Hotel Hershey Ratings and Reviews
My husband & I go every year for New Year’s and love to go to The Circular. Patrick took care of us this time and he was wonderful. Genuinely kind and attentive. The food was excellent as always. Raymond the sommelier, who we see every time we have dinner there, is so nice and remembers us. It’s great to see a lot of the same people each time. The Hotel Hershey has a truly top notch staff, in addition to the high quality food & drinks.
Every New Years Eve we get together with a few friends and have dinner in the Circular. This year we did the same. For appetizers we ordered the rock shrimp and bacon wrapped steak. There was plenty to go around and we all enjoyed. Two people in our party ordered the soups which were lobster bisque and sweet potato. Both said it was delicious. The entrees arrived at our table hot and we were all pleased with our selections. Red snapper, salmon and filets were cooked to perfection. Patrick was our server and he was very knowledgeable about the entrees and specials. He did an excellent job and was very attentive. It was the perfect way to celebrate the end of 2017 and welcome in the new year. It would be nice if there were some new entrees added to the menu as we have been dining here for several years. A change would be nice but please don't ever take away our Caramel!
Sunday brunch at The Circular has been an annual tradition for our family during the holidays for the past ten years. The quality and variety of food continues to be outstanding. We have had dinner here as well, and while it is good, the Sunday brunch is a better overall experience. Recommended.
Delicious food and excellent service, but we wish there was a basic dress code. There were a number of people in super casual clothes--ratty jeans, sweat pants, and shorts. We were disappointed there were no crab claws on the seafood table (claws are usually on the table). And there were no Christmas cookies for dessert--quite a surprise for a holiday reservation.
In spite of these criticisms, we will likely return to Hotel Hershey.
Circular is great place period. The Circular is great. The circular is great. The circular is great. The circular is great. The circular is great. The circular is great. The circular is great. The circular is great. The circular is great. The circular is great.
My wife and I had made a lunch reservation at The Circular on a day when we were visiting another Hershey attraction. We arrived about 30 minutes early, but were seated immediately after a friendly greeting. The lunch is a buffet. Our server took a while to get to us for a drink order. Not her fault, she was hustling, but she had too many tables for one person to handle.
The buffet offered a good mix of appetizers, salads and good hot and cold entrees. The room is very attractive, though since the remodel it has lost all of the old elegance. It's more urban chic, than historic hotel.
Most of the people were dressed pretty nicely, except for one family near us where Dad and his two sons were decked out in their favorite over-sized and well-worn sports team sweatshirts. The two sons each sported a ball cap worn backwards and baggy workout pants. Like I said, the old elegance is gone.
Its still a pretty nice place in a great hotel, with a very good staff, but if you come here for a special occasion be warned that the ambiance just isn't is used to be. Don't be surprised if you're in a suit and the person at the next table is in jeans and sweatshirt.
My family has made it a tradition for more years then I can count. To eat at the Circular for the lunch buffet. We have never been disappointed. The food is amazing. The deserts.......oh my.......where do I begin. The staff goes out of their way to make it a wonderful relaxing dining experience. Keep up the good work. We will be back soon.
We love coming to the circular while at Hershey . We feel the menu has been elevated with really delicious food and exceptional service. The only downfall was they were out of some of their famous cocktails due to the "holiday" but it's still Christmas week. This was true at several bars in the resort . I also miss the hand painted ceiling which made this place extra special . It's still beautiful but that added touch was unique .
Just a little disappointed in service...we've been to Hershey Hotel several times and the service was always impeccable. This visit, most of the buffet items were almost empty, we waited a bit, but they didn't get replaced for 20 min., so we went ahead and ate. Most of the hot bar was at best, warm. Our server didn't clear plates until we stacked them, never were offered more water, etc. Just really makes us wonder what changed...never had service (or lack of service) like this at Hershey Hotel. Kind of ruined a special occasion for us.
We have made this reservation for approximately 6-7 years to start off the Christmas season! We all enjoyed the Holiday Buffet when it was a dressed up Holiday Event (with piano music, no jeans, etc.). That being said - since the change in attire/ambiance we all agreed this year (2017) the food was very much improved over the past 2-3 years. It was a very enjoyable and delicious meal.
