The Circular at The Hotel Hershey Ratings and Reviews
Excellent waitress. Very attentive. Even the young man pouring the water was attentive. Excellent variety of food. Was celebrating my mom’s 85th birthday and waitress brought out chocolate covered strawberries and candy on a plate with Happy Birthday written in chocolate. Very special.
Having a late celebration for my wife's birthday by going to the Circular at the Hotel Hershey. The ambulance was great for a nice dinner for two. The meal portion and quality was outstanding, and made all the better by our great server, Yvonne, who graciously and pleasantly met all of our needs with great food and drink suggestions throughout the evening, and who was very thoughtful in recognizing the birthday which brought us there. Always a special experience dining at the Circular dining room!
My husband and I dined here for our wedding anniversary. It was a special occasion, and everyone at The Circular made it even more special. The service was impeccable, and the food was absolutely delicious. My filet mignon was cooked to perfection. They even treated us to some scrumptious chocolate covered strawberries on a plate with Happy Anniversary drizzled on it! First class all around. Can't thank them enough for helping to make our anniversary so memorable.
Overall, the ambiance is a great and our service was perfect. The only disappointing thing was the food was “okay”. We enjoyed a $70 bottle of wine, but our food at the cost of $130 was sub-par for two. Granted, I understand that’s not an expensive dinner for a nice restaurant, I just expected a little better food. Everyone has reminded us it’s “not a steakhouse” but the Circular offered enough steak options that I assumed we were going to get a good steak. Disappointed, but overall really good. We will be back regardless.
Wow, what a fabulous dining experience we had. We chose the Circular’s Sunday Brunch for our 34th Anniversary and were treated like royalty. Heather’s service was warm and very thoughtful. The food selections were incredible. Thank you to all those at the Circular at Hotel Hershey for making our dining experience very memorable. Highly recommended!
We grew up in Hershey and remember this as a wonderful fine dining location. No more linen table cloths, etc...a sign of the times since clientele has changed. Excellent food and service. Ask for the Chocolate pie...it's not on the menue, but always available.
My husband and I were in the area for our anniversary. I had been there before and was glad to have him experience The Circular. I waited too late to get our reservations and got a time later than I wanted but, still it worked out in the long run. We got there a little early and had to wait which was expected. We had to wait longer and that wasn't expected and one of the two hostesses was not as friendly as I had expected. When we finally got seated it took some time for our waitress to arrive. She did zoom by and apologize and was coming back but another waitress(Jolenea -I think) did come by to see if we were waited on and did a wonderful job elevating our moods as we had somewhere to be later. With the exception of the desserts the food was wonderful. I sure wish I could find that horseradish cheese!!! Yum!
Menu listed for the day included little neck clams but no clams at seafood station. Hard to find bread/rolls only to discover them next to desserts. Really? Organization needs to be improved and find ways to make it easier to obtain food without running into guests and service traffic.
We recently had our 9th anniversary dinner at the Circular. We loved the decor and our hostess and waitress were great- attentive and friendly. We had the artichoke/potato app which was ok but not exciting. My filet was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the truffle hollandaise sauce was awesome. For dessert we had the chocolate cherry pudding that our waitress recommended and i paired it with the special dark martini. It was incredible! Afterwards they brought us complimentary chocolate covered strawberries and Hershey kisses for our anniversary. Over all we had a great time and will definitely be back.
The room is large and beautiful. I was sure we were in for a great meal. However the service was very slow, our server didn't seem to know the menu.
I had seafood my husband had a fillet. The presentation was zero. My seafood was dry and plopped on a plate with no garnish. My husbands steak was plopped on his plate also with no garnish. Our side dishes came about 5 minutes later and were cold, we had to flag our waiter down and ask for the bearnaise sauce that was supposed to come with the steak.
The entire experience was not worth the time or the money.
Our server was Patrick. He did an exceptional job of explaining the Fall menu to us. We both ordered chicken pot pie for an entree. It was served nice and hot. Chicken was very tender. For dessert we shared the chocolate cherry bread pudding. It was wonderful! Then we were served a plate with chocolate covered strawberries that had “happy birthday “ written in chocolate. When our check arrived we were treated with two sea salt caramels ( I look forward to them every visit). Our dinner was wonderful! It was a great way to celebrate my 71st birthday. Thank you Patrick....job well done!
My friend and I went to the Circular Dining room around 10 years ago to celebrate his birthday. At that time, it was a totally different experience, with table cloths, great seating and a wonderful meal that we talked about for some time. However, this occasion was a gift to my friend's son and his wife. (As an aside, he is a well-known chef and former restaurant owner). Although the dining room has been "upgraded" and changed since we were there, it now had interesting (plastic) placemats instead of table cloths, and although there were tables available in front of the windows, the hostess refused to seat us there, despite our request. Many of the window tables remained empty throughout and after our meal. This was unsettling.
The appetizers were quite good, the salads ok, the wine list abundant, but the main courses for all of us were lacking in taste and presentation (the duck was almost floating in "sauce"). The deserts were fairly good, especially the bread pudding.
Our server, Joseph, was wonderful with attentive service and a great personality.
All-in-all, after planning this evening for quite awhile, the total experience was disappointing and not up to our expectations. Not sure if we would return.
We went to the Circular for an anniversary dinner, our first at the Hotel Hershey. We will be checking out the other restaurants at the hotel as the ambiance and overall atmosphere at the hotel was very nice.
The service was very good, the servers and staff were all very friendly. The soups were average, but the main courses (chicken and dumplings; salmon and gnocci) were excellent. Their cocktails were very good as well; I would recommend anyone to give this restaurant a try for a special occasion.
This was our second visit this trip. The first visit was great. The second visit we were seated promptly told our server would be Mike. We were glad because he was our server the previous occasion. My wife and I sat there for over 20 minutes with no one even coming near us. I then got up went to the front to inquire if there was a problem. They looked at me like I had two heads . Another server came, John very nice person. We also waited an additional 20 minutes for bread to be brought to us. Mike was intentionally ignoring us. For what reason I do not know. This whole time we waited no manager or anyone else approached to apologize for the wait or rude treatment. John was the only one to say anything. If there was a problem with us I would have appreciated that they could have said something instead of being ignored.
