The restaurant was closed on the Sunday when we arrived! When we checked on Yelp, yelpers reported that the location had closed. I'm not sure why the OpenTable site is still open for them - this needs to be fixed.
We made a reservation for my friend's going away party, but when we showed up to the restaurant it was completely closed. Despite having a confirmation in my email inbox, they closed their doors on a Sunday, with no warning and no resolution. We were one of multiple groups standing in front of an empty space.
I'm not sure if they're closed forever, or just for a few days. Either way, I'd recommend staying away.
The Church Key is closed you idiots!!
You allowed me to make a reservation there even though the restaurant had been closed for over a week!
This is the SECOND TIME this year that Open Table has allowed me to make a reservation at a restaurant that had closed down. Get your act together people!!
I called Open Table to complain, and they apologized (of course) and said they would make it up to me by giving me 300 points on my profile - which is a joke as the first time this happened this year they gave me 1,000 it’s. To add insult to injury, they then only ended up giving me 100. Another lie from Open Table.
My suggestions going forward - don’t ever book through Open Table. Just use them to see avails and then call the restaurant to book.
I doubt I’ll ever use Open Table to actually book a res ever again. TOTALLY UNRELIABLE!!!
Arrived last weekend for my brunch reservation to find out the restaurant was closed. I find it odd that OpenTable will allow you to book reservations at a restaurant that is no longer in business.
I made a reservation online to celebrate a very big birthday for me with a few very close people that had to make arrangements well in advance. When we find arrived to the restaurant, we found the DOORS LOCKED AND THE LIGHTS OFF. No one had bothered to let us know that they would be completely CLOSED!!! WHAT CIRCUS US THIS? You post open times online but don't bother to see if you will be open???? Wow.
Needless to say, it was an extreme disappointment and a completely ruin to a very important day. These guys seem to be very unprofessional. I wouldn't go if I were you. Find a place that actually has respect for its patrons.
We went to celebrate my friend's engagement just to find out that the restaurant was closed. We actually made two reservation and nowhere were we told that the restaurant would be closed.
The restaurant was not open and no one called to say so. Party of 10 having to find a new reservation on a Saturday night. What a shame.
BEWARE - this restaurant is closed for business and they didn’t let Open Table know and/or Open Table didn’t even bother notifying us! We arrived only to find out by the note in the door!! It sucked to have to scramble with a table of 7 of us at 8pm on a Sat night. For shame.
They weren’t open! Building said they were closed
It’s not a restaurant anymore! It’s closed. I learned when I got there. They should not have an active open table.
This restaurant is closed. It was not open for my reservation
It was closed.
Overall experience was very good. Service and food was good despite being their LAST day of business. Nobody had informed me of such event and we were expecting a full brunch menu. However, when we got there we were informed it was their last day of business as owners had decided to close down. So the only option was a fixed buffet. Selection was good. But we were coming from the OC and if we had known selection was going to be fixed I would had canceled the reservation.
Nonetheless, service was good (not great - coffee for the first three rounds was lukewarm) and good was good (wanted some waffles with the fried chicken).
We loved it! Came here for my birthday dinner and the food was delicious, the space lovely and warm and our server delightful. And the doughnuts are a must!!! The best doughnuts I've ever had, hands down.
Got all the way there, and the restaurant was closed! Not sure why open table would allow a reservation.
It’s a disappointment...we built our night around this reservation.
My steak was over done, i asked for medium.. so when i sent it back they brought a new steak that was so rare! And they didn’t add my veggies to it . It’s disappointing because it’s pricey . For a $50.00 steak it should be perfect.
We reminded the server 3 times it was a birthday. He said when we ordered desert it would come with the desert. Desert came no candles. We told him and 10 min later a different server came to the table with an EMPTY plate and one candle lit and stuck in the middle of the plate. He said he was hoping there would still be a donut left on the table to put the candle in. It was such a disappointment. Piece of advice.....don’t assume. And never bring out an empty plate. We talked to the manager and they took 20 dollars off our bill. At least it was something. I’ll never go back. Also portions are extremely small for the price.
I really love this place. It's beautiful inside and you can get dressed up but at the same time laid back. Food is delicious, service is good. I'd recommend this place to anyone.
Everything was great, from the atmosphere, to the food, to the service. Our waiter sat and chat with us about our trip and things to do in LA - as we are from out of town. I wish they had one in Orlando I’d be there all the time. Super awesome experience
My husband and I had dinner here for the first time and loved it. We will definitely be back!
Very disorganized place. After checking in the hostess did not remember who I was when i checked in for our table after having a drink at the bar. There was a few empty tables at prime time Saturday night. There is a "Dim Sum " cart we were told about where we can order items from. I sounded interesting so we where interested. It never came When asked where it was we were told it was ordered and will be coming out.. it never did until we were through with dinner. When asked why, we were told the kitchen was backed up. It take a long time to get our appetizers and an hour to get our dinner. I finally asked someone who I thought was the manager if they were short handed, he gave me the same answer the waitress did, " I do not know" Everything took so long and and the cart never appearing that they gave us 50% off our bill. Some of the food was very good, other stuff not so much. Not going back ever again to say the least. Too many other places that are on the ball and have good food to go to .
Get the doughnuts! There were yummy!
The food was great and the service was as well.
Big parking lot next door so parking was easy on a Sunday afternoon.
Service was pathetic. Took 40 minutes to get bread.
Really creative menu with bottomless choices of drinks for Brunch. Different and comfortable, open atmosphere. Portions are just right...outstanding desserts.
I haven't been to this restaurant for about 5 years, but its understandable why its now on Groupon. When I walked in to the restaurant it was almost empty, by the time I left there were about 10 tables filled. The quality of the food is just not the best and the cocktails were awful. This place needs to just close or rebrand because its not going to last.
Everything was great, except for the service. The drinks took a very long time, and the server came to our table maybe 3 times. We were there for almost 2 hours, and felt like we were waiting or flagging down out a server each time.
Good alt/pop music you’ll know if you’re in your 40s. Ambiance is good for talking, but the food is not even mediocre. Bland does not capture the fullness of the fare. Drink here. Never eat here.
Really cool place for food and drinks!
Overall ok service a bit uneven
Everything tasted amazing. Staff was amazing. Atmosphere is unique. Not stuffy, but still feels worthy of an experience
Best service ever
2 hr bottomless mimosas and delicious food is all I need for brunch. This is the second time my bf and I have brunch here. The mimosas are good and only $16 dollars for two hrs. The food is delicious. I do have to say there were a little missteps with our food the second time we went but still it was good food. I would definitely go again.
My friends and I wanted a nice dinner and figured since the prices were high we'd get it. We went with the 7 course chefs choice. Out was awful over cooked and left with a belly ache. Overpriced low quality food. 😐
The bottomless bellini’s were watered down way too much & the cornbeef hash brunch was full of onions & way too much mustard
This is a nice and spacious brunch spot. The Rosé is yummy. I'd recommend this for a girls brunch or group brunch. The service is good as the host and other staff are amicable.
the Church Key is a super cute spot! Food was ok, and service was pretty bad. Took forever for a server to come serve us. And took about 40 minutes for our food to arrive (when most of the restaurant was empty).
Church Key is a hidden gem! I love everything about this place. The decor feels very Boston or Chicago ish, the food menu and drinks menu is unique and delicious! The service is 5 stars. It’s laid back but stylish, relaxing and romantic. If you’ve never tried Church Key, you should.
Great place on Sunset. I have always noticed the place but never had a chance to try it out. I ordered Dine LA menu and everything was delicious. Service was great and I loved the interior of the place - spacious yet cozy. Will definitely go back!
Every stage of the process took about 20 minutes each, from getting our drinks, to ordering to getting to the check to having the check picked up. Worst of all, my boyfriend (who is kosher) had to send his salmon eggs benedict back because the whites where literally the consistency of water and we didn't realize til the end of the meal that he'd been given chorizo in the replacement instead of salmon. The salmon they serve is a blood red color so though the consistency looked different (it looked like the salmon came back crispy), it wasn't immediately apparent as it would have been with normal salmon. His body hasn't processed pork in over a decade and therefore he was sick the rest of our three day weekend. The waiter comped that dish (which we appreciated), but was spastic and inattentive the duration of the meal.
Additionally, the music was loud to the point that we couldn't even hold a conversation across the table.
I used to work in the service industry and typically have a lot of patience and empathy for how difficult the job is, but this experience was simply awful.
