The ChopHouse Ratings and Reviews
This was my husband's birthday and we choose to spend it at the ChopHouse - the food was excellent, tasty, and cooked to perfection. The wine was outstanding and most important our attendant, Lisa, was beyond attentive, pleasant, polite and made our evening enjoyable.
Thank you for making this a special birthday!
We went for my in-laws 70th Birthdays. Food was great service was excellent. Was a bit pricey, didn’t really think it was anything that special to be priced that way. Overall it’s a good place for a special occasion but I wouldn’t go there for a casual dinner.
Went on 12/3 for a Special Occasion dinner. Waiter was outstanding. Filet Mignon was perfect! Appetizers were worth the costs. Added extras (asparagus, brussel sprouts) were outstanding. Baked Potato was nothing special though. I'll skip that next time around. Family also had Yellowfin Tuna (A+), Chicken Milanese (A+) and a smaller Filet Mignon (A+). I'm a big "ambiance" guy, so i was very impressed with the decor, lighting, etc.. We'll be coming back.
The ambience is special. The service is top notch. The bar scene is energetic. The food, however, is a weakness and that's not good for a restaurant. The appetizers and bar food is good and fairly priced, but the entrees are very overpriced. The portions are not proportionate to the price, and the food is not flavorful. I will still go there, but I know what to order.
This place is overrated to say the least. Food was just OK. The ambience was nothing to brag about and it was so cold by the windows I had to put my jacket on. The cheesy radiate heaters in the back section aren't cutting it. Not to mention the noise. I couldn't hear my wife or the waiter. Just ridiculous. I was aware of the absorbent pricing before I booked my reservation. However at these prices I would expect, no demand the experience be exceptional.
It was a huge disappointment. If you want a good steak go to the Texas Roadhouse. The Chophouse steak was fat and grease for $47. $10, salad $10, $19 for 4 shrimp and $10 for Asparagus.
So if you want to spend two hundred bucks for something that compares to the neighborhood diner go the Chophouse and have at it.
The food was very good. We were there for our anniversary and they sat us downstairs which I️ didn’t really enjoy. The only other awkward thing was my wife ordered the NY Strip that was the “special” for the evening. After ordering we were informed it was $125 for the steak... if it’s 3x what the NY Strip is on the menu they should probably lead with that info. My wife had the menu NY Strip and I️ had the Filet, both were amazing! I️ would like to go back again and next time not sit next to the bathroom in the basement.
THIS WAS OUR FIRST TIME AT THE CHOPHOUSE. LOVELY RELAXED ATMOSPHERE WITH A BEAUTIFUL VIEW. FOOD WAS WONDERFUL (FILET THAT COULD BE SLICED WITH A BUTTER KNIFE, PERFECTLY SEASONED CHILEAN SEA BASS, TASTY GORGONZOLA NEW YORK STRIP AND A PAN- SEARED VEAL CHOP THAT MADE MY HUSBAND DROOL). MANOLLI, OUR SERVER, WAS A GEM. NICK, THE MANAGER, WAS WARM AND FRIENDLY. WE CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN TO DINE ON OTHER DISHES FROM THE MENU.
We went to the ChopHouse for our anniversary dinner. we sat with a view of the lake but it was dark out and they don't have any lights on the lake. however, we also were seated next to a lovely 'in-door' fire place/pit which was nice. overall the food was excellent but a bit pricey. we split the 24 oz porterhouse steak, the beef was outstanding. My tow complaint are 1) the au poirve (peppercorn encrustement) was a bit too much and overpowered rather than complemented the steak; and 2) the truffle fries were lousy. Other than that we had a wonderful dinner with great bottle of wine with our meal. the server was fantastic and very down-to-earth but extremely competent. would recommend
The Chop House is an outstanding restaurant. I am particularly impressed with such a spot existing in South Jersey.
The service is particularly sophisticated and impressive. I have gone twice recently and have been treated with great expertise and savvy. It helps make this a great dining experience.
I am also very pleased with the lighting in the restaurant. It is bright enough to read a menu, easily see the folks at your table and engage in conversation. The room is large and comfortable. Tables and seats are well proportioned.
And the food is just outstanding. A menu of appetizers, steaks, and sides that can seem ordinary but are perfectly cooked and beautifully served.
This is a great place for a date or even a large party.
My two recent experiences have been remarkable and I will certainly look forward to going to the restaurant again.
We had a party of 11 to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We heard a lot of great things and he wanted to try it. I thought it would be great to arrange to have our closest friends surprise him at the restaurant. Overall, the experience was a bit underwhelming. Our waitress, Heather Love, was the best part of the experience. She was friendly, attentive and gave us superb service.
Unfortunately, we were sat practically in the kitchen which was in earshot of staff cursing, cooking, and chatting throughout the night. I’m sure there were better seating options in the restaurant so I’m not sure why they set us up there. The food was just okay and we had two servings of lobster Mac and cheese that smelled and tasted spoiled. Heather immediately cleared from the table and the manager offered to bring us another side and took the lobster Mac off the bill. My husband and others in our party also said their steaks were a bit salty and had better in less expensive restaurants.
I don’t think we’d return for another visit and probably wouldn’t recommend to friends. Just not worth the money.
Everything was perfect. From the wine list to the appetizers to the steaks everything was sublime. Our waitress was friendly knowledgable and made sure we were well taken care of. We went for my parents birthday and they had an amazing time. We will definitely be going back.
My wife and I decided to go to the Chop House for our anniversary after having been there for a close friends wedding. The food was delicious and the serving staff, especially David, our waiter made our experience even more enjoyable. My wife had the crab cakes and I had the lobster and crab mac and cheese. We shared a greens salad with strawberries, blueberries, almonds and bleu cheese as well as roasted brussel sprouts and apple bread pudding. We enjoyed every bite and were sufficiently full. My wife even took one of the crab cakes home with her. We enjoyed a half price (Tuesday only) bottle of cabernet with our meal.
