The ChopHouse Ratings and Reviews
We've been planning to come the Chop House for some time and had each had an awful day, so decided to treat ourselves. It was indeed a treat!!! The service was outstanding, the Julia's filet and my rib eye were done to perfection. We shared a salad which was delicious and more than ample. I'm not much of dessert fan, but she is and we shared the Bread Pudding and it was, "Off the Charts".
Lovely restaurant, excellent service.
Unfortunately, my ribeye was not tender and a bit on the dry side.
A second was brought to me . Same, somewhat dry and tough to chew.
Have had better elsewhere.
Additionally, I called the day before to advise that it was a birthday dinner for my wife.
I was advised by the receptionist on the phone that they would handle it.
They handled it...NOTHING.
We celebrated our anniversary on New Year's Eve at Chop House. The hostesses were very efficient, and the atmosphere was festive. We were seated by the windows overlooking the lake, which was beautiful, but the cold air from the windows turned our feet to ice by the time our food came. We also ate quickly to make sure our food did not get cold. Our server was very knowledgeable and pleasant, but he took forever to get to us, and once he took our order, we never saw him again. When our food came out, a lobster tail was missing. No one came to check on us. When we were almost finished our meal, the manager came to see how it was. At that point, we told him we never got our lobster tail. He immediately had one prepared, and brought it to us at no charge. He also provided dessert at no charge for our anniversary. We are very pleased with his handling of the situation, but disappointed that our server entered our order incorrectly, and never once bothered to stop by our table to see how we were doing. Other than that, and the cold feet, we enjoyed our visit very much and will be back. Service from the rest of the staff was exceptional.
This was a surprise birthday present for my 74th birthday, yes I was born on New Years Eve. My wife, daughter & her husband put this dinner together, it was a wonderful surprise. The facility was beautiful, the staff, from the parking attendant to everyone inside, was very helpful & professional. The food was excellent & our waitress couldn’t have been more attentive to our needs. We didn’t feel any pressure to finish our meal & free up the table. We were there for a celebration & enjoyed every minute. This was my first time at your restaurant but it definitely won’t be the last. Thank you for one of the nicest birthdays I’ve ever had.
The food was fantastic, yes it's expensive but great for a fancy date and special occasions. The waiter was very attentive but often started at us from a distance making us feel rushed. The main complaint we have deals with how small the table and the space was. It was an extremely tight fit and we were very uncomfortable squished between two other tables; our food and drinks could barley fit. Other than those two things we had a great time and enjoyed our time and the food.
Probably the best steakhouse in Southern NJ. A vibrant, bar and seating area, bordering on perhaps too loud, but worth the noise for the service and excellent aged beef. The wait staff is not, repeat not, overbearing, as well as attentive. Often times a member of management stops to offer an introduction and offer for additional service.
ChopHouse is our go-to restaurant for steak and seafood, and we usually visit 6-8 times every year. The wine list is also excellent, but if you're a CA red lover, you may find most of the offerings too young to drink.
I was extremely disappointed that I drove an hour to meet four other friends to celebrate my 50th birthday. My lamb chops were ordered at a medium temperature and when they came out they were more like well done and I could not even cut them with the provided steak knife. My friend's came out the same way. Not our waitress, but another one took them back to the kitchen and had them remade. When we cut them they were raw in the center but around it seemed to be cooked but fatty. Then our brownie dessert came out and half of the brownie was hard as a rock. Another one had to be made. I do think it was the right thing to do and not charge us for the two lamb chop orders, but we did not mind paying as it was a big celebration. I will not be back or recommend this place again. Too many other amazing steakhouses that are consistent.
This was my husband's birthday and we choose to spend it at the ChopHouse - the food was excellent, tasty, and cooked to perfection. The wine was outstanding and most important our attendant, Lisa, was beyond attentive, pleasant, polite and made our evening enjoyable.
Thank you for making this a special birthday!
We went for my in-laws 70th Birthdays. Food was great service was excellent. Was a bit pricey, didn’t really think it was anything that special to be priced that way. Overall it’s a good place for a special occasion but I wouldn’t go there for a casual dinner.
Went on 12/3 for a Special Occasion dinner. Waiter was outstanding. Filet Mignon was perfect! Appetizers were worth the costs. Added extras (asparagus, brussel sprouts) were outstanding. Baked Potato was nothing special though. I'll skip that next time around. Family also had Yellowfin Tuna (A+), Chicken Milanese (A+) and a smaller Filet Mignon (A+). I'm a big "ambiance" guy, so i was very impressed with the decor, lighting, etc.. We'll be coming back.
The ambience is special. The service is top notch. The bar scene is energetic. The food, however, is a weakness and that's not good for a restaurant. The appetizers and bar food is good and fairly priced, but the entrees are very overpriced. The portions are not proportionate to the price, and the food is not flavorful. I will still go there, but I know what to order.
