Although this is one of the pricier restaurants, the service is so good it helps when you get the check. The food is very good, but I've dined at places which were as good for less. Again, the service is excellent!
Had to send back side order of a potatoes.
Extremely crowded which made the noise level to become annoying. Waitress was very good but seemed to have way too many tables to service which made for longer wait times. Valet was trying to be helpful and at the same time became very condescending. It was to the point I wanted to leave before I even entered. Food delicious.
Awesome as usual.
The place in South Jersey for an elegant evening out.
As always the food & serves were excellent
The dining room was recently renovated nicely however the noise level was ridiculous registering 95decibels
Our waiter could not hear our orders and had to individually explain the specials
Great drinks and atmosphere. Very attentive service
We celebrated my husband's birthday at Chop House on Saturday evening. Our Server, Manoli (not sure of spelling) was OUTSTANDING! Great personality, wonderful attention to detail, extensive knowledge of drinks and well informed about the menu. The food was good and the venue is lovely. All of this is diminished because of the level of noise in the restaurant. This is definitely NOT your quiet, romantic evening go-to. There was just a constant din of loud talkers for the entirety of our 2 hour dinner. It felt like more of a happy hour spot than a sophisticated place for dinner. We will give the place another try. Hopeful that Manoli is there, just in case.
We had an 8:30 reservation and were promptly seated. We chose a booth over a table and as a consequence we were seated near the kitchen and subjected to cooks shouting out orders. The service was very good. The appetizers and soup were excellent. My wife chose as her entree the lamb chops, which at the price of $40 were a generous portion and cooked to order. Very good. I on the other hand chose the aged bone in ribeye with beer battered onion rings ($51). I would say three quarters of the cut of steak was riddled with gristle and fat. While the edible parts were cooked to perfection and delicious in flavor, I was terribly disappointed. This is not the Outback Steakhouse or the Lonestar Grill. We chose this restaurant based on its reputation. I hope this review is taken to heart. I’ve tried to be fair, the service and balance of the meal was excellent, but paying a premium price for an inferior cut of meat is unacceptable. I doubt we would risk going back and would not recommend friends or family doing so.
We do apologize for your experience. We certainly would have corrected the problem within the restaurant promptly had we known the steak was not up to your satisfaction. We would love the opportunity to make the situation right if you do decide to return. Please call the restaurant and ask for any manager on duty so we can set up your next reservation. Have a wonderful new year!
Too expensive, I understand the food is top notch and it's all about the steak cuta and the aging process and the wait staff but for alot of people I'm gonna have to say what I begin my comment with.
Food was excellent. Steak cooked perfectly, tasted great. Loved the Chophouse salad - we split it and there was more than enough. Hot chocolate creme brûlée out of this world!!
David was an excellent server. The food was served promptly
Over the years, the Chop House has earned a well deserved reputation for excellent food and wonderful atmosphere. However, the restaurant’s signature high level of service and attention to detail have been abandoned.
From mixups with drink orders (on two separate occasions) to inconsistency in serving of courses (the delivery of one appetizer ten minutes after other appetizers were served; dirty dishes sitting on our table long after completing our entrees), the management and staff have declined over the years.
While the menu options and quality of food remain above average, the price points are no longer appropriate for a restaurant with mediocre service. If you’re looking for great steaks and don’t care about service, try The Library on Route 73 in Voorhees.
We do apologize for your experience. If you could call the restaurant at your earliest convenience we would love to set up your next reservation. We are better than this review and we would love the opportunity to show you. Have a wonderful new year!
Always a great meal and great service. Holiday decorations were beautiful.
Everything was great. It was New Year's Day and it was not crowded. The food was great. I had the New York Strip and it was done to perfection. Other members of my party had the Lobster & Colossal Lump Crab Mac & Cheese, Pan-Seared Scottish Salmon, and Pan Seared Colossal Crab Cakes. Each dish was wonderful, I cannot wait to do back. The service was outstanding, I cannot wait to go back.
The ChopHouse is a great spot for drinks and top notch food.
NYE at the Chophouse... food outstanding, service, atmosphere!! Well done
I went to The Chop House for my 28th wedding anniversary. The food was very good. The service was adequate. I a regular patron. I was surprised that as an accommodation for my anniversary, the restaurant gave as a complementary dessert that was, quite frankly, an embarrassment. Specifically, they gave us a tiny creme brûlée that was barely large enough for one person to be shared by three. I spent close to $300.00 and given that fact, I think they could have been a trifle bit more generous. I have celebrated special occasions at The Capital Grill and at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse. When they accommodate a patron, they do not insult you with a diminutive dessert, rather they overwhelm you with a large, full dessert. I would suggest that The Chop House takes note of how it’s competition treats it’s patrons if it wants to remain competitive.
An excellent meal all around. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation.
My Wife and I, always have a great experience when we come to the chophouse
Great food and good service. Everything was fresh and nicely prepared. The Kona rubbed filet and crab legs were absolutely delicious. Had the creamed spinach and mashed which were excellent. Our waitress was friendly and attentive.. the ambience was comfortable and classy .
We were initially seated near the fireplace, as requested in my reservation, but shortly thereafter the hostess asked us to move to a table
Next to the kitchen and service area. I went back to the hostess desk
and luckily our table was changed back to our original seating. I don’t understand nor was I given an explanation why we were asked to move.
Other than that, our evening was all we hoped for: exceptional food,
Nice holiday ambience and an attentive
One of the most pleasurable dining experiences I've had in a long time. Our waitress was very attentive to our needs and wants. From the appetizer to the dessert and coffee afterwards we were not rushed, allowed to dine at our pace and everything was hot when brought out. The Brussel Sprouts and Buffalo Shrimp we had as the appetizers were excellent, the salads superb and the main entree, Filet and Scallops outstanding. My wife and I split the sides of Scalloped Potatoes, Broccoli and Mushrooms were both enough for two people as we ordered one side of each and split them and very good. Dessert was a bread pudding that was like no other I've had. Topped off with a coffee for me and cappuccino for my wife. three hours after sitting down we walked out very happy with the meal, full and satisfied but not bloated and looking forward to when we go again. If you are looking for a good meal in a nice atmosphere, I highly recommend the Chop House.
Absolutely on point restaurant from start to finish!
Our food was so delicious. I think it was the best food I’ve ever had. Our waiter was great.
We live 1 minute away, walking distance but certainly don’t go there enough. I said to my wife I wish the town would light up the trees in the winter around the lake. That subtle change would make a huge impact on the ambiance. We loved our visit, service, meal, drinks, everything. Thank you very much!
Dinner was great and the service was amazing it was my second time there and just as good as my first
Frankly, the food wasn't worth the amount of money we spent.
High quality food and drinks every time!
Service is excellent!
It was fantastic.
Our server was working several rooms and the service was not great. Love going there... this was a disappointing evening out with a very good client. Not their best effort.
My husband and I were celebrating a special occasion on this evening. Everyone at Chophouse was cued into that and could not have been more attentive (but not invasive), congratulatory and so professional. Our server could not have been better...just enough information, but not overwhelming. Checked in at critical times but did not bug us. The food selections and timing were just perfect. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you for making a special evening even more so.
Beautiful restaurant and delicious food. Our server was wonderful, overly accommodating, which we appreciated. Only nit picky thing was the restaurant terrace, was freezing! I wore my coat most of the dinner. They did adjust the heat, but it was still quite chilly sitting along the closed windows.
Goof menu selections. All ingredients were fresh and very tasty.
The lamb chops were excellent and so was the wedge salad and the Steaks we all tried. The lava cake was delicious
Food was excellent but I think the price was a touch higher than it should be. Drinks were good and rightly priced. I found the actual facility to be a little dated and dirty. Parking was terrible, unless you want to valet. I didn't feel comfortable giving the keys over to my brand new 2019 volvo, so we walked quite a distance in the dark parking lot thru goose crap. I will tell people the food was good but not for the price and honestly unless you valet the parking situation was unacceptable.
Very nice atmosphere and food was terrific but very pricey.
We live in Albany ,NY and come to visit our children in Voorhees. We always choose the ChopHouse and have an excellent experience.
Food and service was excellent. Rachel is awesome as usual.
Expensive but worth every penny! All of our food, even the non steak items, were exceptional. Everything was flavorful, cooked to perfection. Dawn our waitress was excellent and made our night so enjoyable!
Great food and staff are wonderful
