Unbelievable experience with magnificent food and service.
Outstanding food and service Bryant the best waiter I’ve had in my life of 64 years!
The restaurant is extremely nice. Service was excellent. The food is a little pricey. The steaks are great. I tried the pork chops for the first time. Not much flavor. Wouldn't try again.
Defitnely one of the top steak houses I've been too and top for WV. Would highly reccomend and price is about what you'd expect for an upscale chop house.
Service was excellent, wine list is great. Had calamari as appetizer and they had a good spice to it. I ordered the cowboy steak and it was over cooked. They took it off the bill though. Spinach was great. Mac & cheese needed some seasoning. Will definitely go again. Quality of the meat seems very high. It was just cooked too long
The Chophouse was not particularly busy, with many empty tables. Despite the lack of diners present at the time of our meal, service was exceptionally slow and far slower than it has been in my previous visits. Also, the bread usually served with the meal was nowhere to be found only a wheat-esque seed bread (gross) was available. The flavor of the Cowboy Steak, at a cost of $53.00, was relatively bland and certainly blander than had I gone to the store and purchased and seasoned a steak myself (which of course would have been less than half of the price of the Chophouse steak). Everything was good, but no better than that and you should get much better than good when a meal for two (with only 2 glasses of wine) is almost $200.00 without tip.
Great food, great service, I'd go back in a heartbeat! Every bit as good as the high end big city steakhouses, if not better. Expensive, but given the top notch experience, I couldn't complain. The GM was very appreciative of our compliments, and our server was friendly and helpful, but not intrusive.
Went for the birthday discount meal. Fillet was melt in your mouth delicious. Split the au gratin potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. Potatoes could have been a little softer and creamier but had excellent flavor. Mushrooms were great with the steak. The bread pudding was disappointing as it was over baked and dry. The flavor was good. Will try happy hour in the lounge next time.
Great food, service, ambiance, and overall atmosphere. Best steak I've had in a while. Overpriced. I've had dinner atop the highest skyscraper in Boston on a Saturday night for about the same. This is Charleston, WV and the restaurant is located in a mall. We would have gone elsewhere if their pricing was published.
We dine here a few times a month consistently. Although the dining rooms are lovely, we prefer the cozyness of a booth in the lounge. Some of our favs are the Moroccan Shrimp, the Filet of course is always prepared to perfection, the Dover Sole is melt in your mouth delish, Au Gratin potatoes large enough to feed an army, the rack of lamb, and the wedge salad sufficient for two people! I can't leave out that they grill up a mean Happy Hour burger too! Service is personable and on point and the valet parking appeals to those of us avoiding the Mall experience. This restaurant is one of our favs!
Best steak ever! Impressive service! Will definitely go again!
Did not like the meeting room that we were sat it. The window looked out into mall and it was very distracting. Room was like just thrown together. One other couple in room. Did not seem like we were dining in fine restaurant, more like owners bread across the hall that we also saw out the window. I could understand if we didn’t take time to make reservations but we did, we should have had better seating. That was obviously set up for meeti g or something. Too bright for dinner and the atmosphere we thought we would be getting by going to dinner there
Excellent food, service, and overall experience. Exceptional.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Very nice setting, exceptional food and service.
The food was excellent, and Brian is the greatest server. The entire experience was very memorable.
This is our absolute favorite place to eat. The Chop House never disappoints! Our waiter, Justin, always goes above and beyond to make sure we are happy, we always make sure to request him while dining here.
We went for Restaurant Week - the menu was set ahead of time and the filet was delicious. It felt a little "rushed" perhaps because we were on a special menu, not sure. Was not asked if I would like coffee with my dessert, which I always do.
On a regular menu, I normally feel it is over-priced.
My first time at the Chop House was enjoyable. The food was delicious and service was wonderful. I look forward to my next visit.
Our association was in Charleston WV for a legislative event and we had the good fortune of having dinner at the Chop House. The evening was perfect, the hostess, bartender, manager and server... were all exceptional. The food was outstanding! What a culinary delight. I would highly recommend the Chop House for any special event as it is a fabulous restaurant!
The food was excellent, as always, and the service was exemplary. It's probably the best restaurant in town for steak and upscale dining.
Have been to The Chop House several times and the food and service are always excellent. Be prepared for large servings of all items.
This is a classy restaurant with impeccable food, service and ambience. They cut no corners. I've been to this restaurant twice for special occasions and I have not been disappointed either time. They are unsurpassable in the Charleston area. I'd recommendation to anyone and everyone.
Expensive but worth it for the quality of the food and the upscale dining environment
Food was wonderful, great ambiance, Food is just a little pricey
Excellent food, horrible service. I believe our waitress was also the bartender, so she was constantly having to go to the bar to serve drinks whilst our level of service continued to decline. We even had a second server that tried to assist but to no avail. The food was good albeit overpriced in my opinion. I expected a much better experience for a $350 check.
Food was outstanding. I had the prime strip and it was the best I have ever eaten and I have eaten some great steaks. Loved the whole experience. Great cocktails, terrific service. Overall a 5 Star night.
Lindsey was a perfect waiter. The fruit bread was delicious!
The only issue we had was that we were put at a long table where half of the party was boxed in and had to get everyone to move if one had to get out. A party of eight should be sat at a table with exit room.
The drinks were messed up, the salads and soup messed up and the dinners also messed up. One steak actually went on 4 different plates before it got to the right plate and that is after I had already cut into someone else's steak. It was so bad that it would have been comical if it had not been a special occasion. I was embarrassed that I made the reservation at this establishment.
This restaurant was great!! I will say it needs to be business attire only. I feel for the setting and prices I don't want to sit with people that are wearing jeans or dressed inappropriately for the setting.
Food was exceptional, and the service provided by Bryant was also exceptional as always. Very nice experience.
Fantastic as always!!!
We were visiting Charleston & wanted a fine dining experience. We used Trip Advisor to find this one and read the reviews. We had a wonderful meal, excellent steaks, the scalloped potates were awesome. Thank you, Shane for the recommendation and the excellent service. We even went to First Watch for breakfast based on your recommendation.
Lynda did a great job taking care of our table and Larry the Manager was great in allowing us to move and get an even bigger table as more quest arrived then we planned for.
thank you, James
GREAT QUALITY FOOD. ONLY THE BEST OUT OF THAT RESTAURANT!
As usual, the food was impeccable. Never get tired of the Cowboy Ribeye. Our server was exactly the type we hope for when visiting. Renee was friendly, bubbly and make our visit extra special. We enjoy being waited on by someone who has the same type of outgoing personality as we do. We definitely would ask for her again in the future. I look forward to returning again for an excellent dining experience.
The scallops were superb!
The food was excellent and the group enjoyed the restaurant. The crab and lobster cake was delicious.
When traveling, we always like to go to local restaurants, so we chose The Chop House. We expected a nice steak dinner. The menu was varied, with nice wine suggestions to pair with the entrees. However, the prices were outrageous for mediocre food. We live in Chicago, which has some of the best steak houses in the country; this place had Chicago prices without the Chicago quality. Service was indifferent, and we did not feel welcomed. We were highly disappointed. The restaurant was also very noisy, with the small parties at several tables speaking at very loud volumes.
Visited The Chop House for my wife's birthday on a Monday evening. The food was excellent and the staff, especially Bianca, was amazing. We had a wonderful evening celebrating. We will definitely be back.
