The Chop House - Charleston
Filet Mignon, 8oz
Garlic Smashed Potatoes
It’s nice for Charleston - good that they have a nice joint.
Waiter was wonderful
Our server was weak at best, he had very limited menu and wine knowledge. Didn’t know the proper way to open a bottle of wine, did so on the table and dropped the foil all over me. He could not get our order right to save his life. Food was pretty good but not great, I was here last year and recommended that my 5 buddies and I eat here and I’m still hearing it from them. We had loud banging on the wall at our table from the kitchen and the server said they were “rolling silverware” back there. Never saw or talked to a manager. 2 of the 6 entrees that came out were wrong, very slow drink times and had to remind the server several times that we ordered them. Poor choice on my part, the restaurant, in my opinion, has taken several steps backwards since my visit to town last year. To lend credibility to my comments, I own a full service Open Table Awarded Restauarant. Again, had I gotten the opportunity to give me feedback to the manager I would have preferred to do it that way vs OT.
We had a reservation for 5 and they were able to take us sooner... food was amazing. Everything was amazing.
Great food as always. Unfortunately the restaurant was pretty empty due to Covid.
But, that worked well for us...lots of attention. Service was spectacular.
Food was spot on and the service was very friendly and welcoming.
Soooo great to dine here again after 3 STINKIN months! Thank you Tiffany for your exquisite service. Food was de-LISH, fresh and hot and top notch quality!
Filet was far too expensive to be that badly charred.
Superb Filet Mignon! Prepared exactly as requested--slightly more rare than medium rare. Great red wine reduction sauce, Good garlic smashed potatoes. Huge chunk of steamed broccoli, Expensive but excellent meal and waiter.
Great service, best steak I’ve ever eaten, 50% off your bill on your birthday
Hadn't been out to eat since March and it was really nice to go out to a nice restaurant with my wife. The tables were spaced apart nicely and we didnt feel like we were crowded or too close to anyone. the service was great, and the food, as always, was great.
Loved everything we ordered. Steak was perfect. One of our sides was the corn and it was outstanding.
Excellent service. Excellent food. Excellent atmosphere. What else is there? Whatever it is I’m positive that it was excellent also!
This was the 2nd time we have been to the chop house. Just like last it was very good. We was there celebrating my wife’s birthday. We did have reservations but had to wait a little bit due to the large crowd eating there as a concert was happening the same night at the civic center. Overall it was a great experience. We both had filet’s and both was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. We topped that off with a awesome creme brûlée for dessert. Our service was also outstanding. Will definitely be back!
Amazing service!! The filet was cooked to perfection, and hands down the best cheesecake I've had in the Charleston area. I wish they had some more bourbons on the menu, but I know some are hard to get in the WV area. Will be back!
Very nice. Great food, great service, very relaxing
This was my first visit to The Chop House in Charleston, West Virginia. It will certainly not be my last.
The food, service, and the total experience was outstanding. If I give Harry, our Server, six stars I would. He was amazing! Valet service was very good. As soon as we walked in, we were seated within a minute of arrival on Valentine's Day evening with our reservations even though the restaurant was busy. Lamb lollypops, 8 oz. filet mignon, asparagus, vanilla bean Crème Brulee were all outstanding!
Took my wife for Valentines
I ordered the New York strip brocolli and salad. The meat and vegetable had a bland taste, no flavor at all. The steak was so tough I thought I needed a chainsaw. The atmosphere and service was incredible. Should've eaten elsewhere.
Valentine’s Day dinner
The food was delicious. The restaurant staff was knowledgeable about each dish and special. Timing between courses was perfect.
Highly recommend The Chop House.
Expensive for the quality. Quality is good. But not $100 per person good.
Best Sea Bass that I have ever had! Sat in bar area and had a romantic dinner.
My colleagues had never been and were very impressed with the food and the service was excellent as always.
The food was phenomenal and the our waiter was extremely polite, prompt and helpful.
Food and service were excellent. Looking forward to my next meal there on Feb. 14.
I would recommend for the service which was impeccable and the ambiance which was very nice. The food was not as good as I expected it to be but it was not bad. I guess I was expecting outstanding given the price point here.
Sirloin steak was a little tough, asked for well done, came back medium well at best. Taste was very good overall.
The atmosphere was relaxing. The greeter was very friendly and cheerful. The waitress/server was more helpful than any we've ever had. She answered our questions and told us ahead of time what to expect as far as our meal and side dishes. She kept our table extra clean and clear and was always happy to help. She seems to love her job and takes it serious. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. My favorite was the Kale/Quinoa Salad. The New York Cheesecake was divine. We will return.
Food tasted like it was just taken out of the freezer
Your staff is well selected for fine dining, but none better than Derek Palmer. He is the pen ultimate of what your product is known for. Thank you for the experience. Gary Borstein,
Ate diner at the bar, great conversation between patrons. Tiffany our server was fantastic!
We’ve been going here for our Anniversary every year for the past several years and we also go here for a few other occasions through the year. Last night we went again for our 20th anniversary, and it was almost like we weren’t even at The Chop House. Let me start off by saying that our server was great. She has waited on us before and her service was top notch, as usual. The car valet service was also very good. However, most everything else was not up to par. It was like the restaurant was off its game. The hostess who seated us just laid the menus on the table and walked away without saying anything. She didn’t even notice that there were no napkins on the table and we had to ask for napkins. She didn’t even offer to take my wife’s coat -a first ever! They were also out of several items, both from the wine menu and the food menu. Again, to be out of several items on New Year’s Eve and a Tuesday seemed quite strange. Overall, while our server was her usual awesome, the experience was quite disappointing due to what I mentioned above. I hope The Chop House gets its game back as we’ll be looking at other restaurants for our special occasions if this is the best we can expect going forward.
Everything was good from top to bottom
Perfect evening at The Chop House! Staff was very kind and knowledgeable. Food was delicious. A little too expensive, but overall everything was amazing.
Yummy. Lindsay was our waitress and she was so cherry and kind. It was delicious, especially those cheesy potatoes! And the chocolate cake! I want to return.
Great service. Noise level low so we could talk to each other which was great. Terri was our waitress. Not rushed at all and we were able to enjoy a holiday meal with special friends!
Had the best filet mignon around! The Beef Wellington, my favorite, was superb! The menu selections were above par. Best atmosphere and food in the Valley.
Everything was wonderful, as usual.
