The Chop House specializes in Prime Beef. When I made the Open Table reservations for 2--my wife's birthday, I was looking forward to my favorite Chop House Filet Mignon, which I have savored in the past. However, due to a sudden flareup of gout, red meat was off my diet, Nevertheless, the Northern grilled salmon I ordered was excellent, and my wife enjoyed her sea scallops. There was a waiter in training, but he was accompanied by an experienced helper who was also knowledgeable about red wines, and the choice recommended was a good one. I highly recommend the Charleston West Virginia Chop House. You won't be disappointed.

Superb!! The experience and food could not have been better. The restaurant took every precaution for safety. The service was excellent. (Josh was thorough, attentive and excellent). The meal was wonderful. The steak was perfectly prepared and the Chilean Sea Bass was spectacular—my husband said the best he has ever had!! Our anniversary celebration could not have been better. A five star plus experience.

Our server was weak at best, he had very limited menu and wine knowledge. Didn’t know the proper way to open a bottle of wine, did so on the table and dropped the foil all over me. He could not get our order right to save his life. Food was pretty good but not great, I was here last year and recommended that my 5 buddies and I eat here and I’m still hearing it from them. We had loud banging on the wall at our table from the kitchen and the server said they were “rolling silverware” back there. Never saw or talked to a manager. 2 of the 6 entrees that came out were wrong, very slow drink times and had to remind the server several times that we ordered them. Poor choice on my part, the restaurant, in my opinion, has taken several steps backwards since my visit to town last year. To lend credibility to my comments, I own a full service Open Table Awarded Restauarant. Again, had I gotten the opportunity to give me feedback to the manager I would have preferred to do it that way vs OT.

Hadn't been out to eat since March and it was really nice to go out to a nice restaurant with my wife. The tables were spaced apart nicely and we didnt feel like we were crowded or too close to anyone. the service was great, and the food, as always, was great.

This was the 2nd time we have been to the chop house. Just like last it was very good. We was there celebrating my wife’s birthday. We did have reservations but had to wait a little bit due to the large crowd eating there as a concert was happening the same night at the civic center. Overall it was a great experience. We both had filet’s and both was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. We topped that off with a awesome creme brûlée for dessert. Our service was also outstanding. Will definitely be back!

Amazing service!! The filet was cooked to perfection, and hands down the best cheesecake I've had in the Charleston area. I wish they had some more bourbons on the menu, but I know some are hard to get in the WV area. Will be back!

This was my first visit to The Chop House in Charleston, West Virginia. It will certainly not be my last. The food, service, and the total experience was outstanding. If I give Harry, our Server, six stars I would. He was amazing! Valet service was very good. As soon as we walked in, we were seated within a minute of arrival on Valentine's Day evening with our reservations even though the restaurant was busy. Lamb lollypops, 8 oz. filet mignon, asparagus, vanilla bean Crème Brulee were all outstanding!

I ordered the New York strip brocolli and salad. The meat and vegetable had a bland taste, no flavor at all. The steak was so tough I thought I needed a chainsaw. The atmosphere and service was incredible. Should've eaten elsewhere.

The atmosphere was relaxing. The greeter was very friendly and cheerful. The waitress/server was more helpful than any we've ever had. She answered our questions and told us ahead of time what to expect as far as our meal and side dishes. She kept our table extra clean and clear and was always happy to help. She seems to love her job and takes it serious. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. My favorite was the Kale/Quinoa Salad. The New York Cheesecake was divine. We will return.
