Great food. Great service. Good noise level. Overall Top-notch chophouse. See you soon.
We picked the correct place to celebrate our 2 year anniversary; Chop House is a very distinctive restaurant that is know for its excellent quality of food and service !!! We decided to come to Chop House to to celebrate with a great meal and the level of service exceeded our expectations. Christy was very attentive and provided us with a memorable dining experience. We also appreciated the creativity of the pastry chef for decorating our dessert.
One of best steaks I’ve ever had and excellent wine list. Service (at bar) was outstanding.
The waitresses and waiters there are so amazing! They are very attentive, answer every question, and give great suggestions. This is my second time coming this year and I would love to go more. It is expensive, but SO worth it, especially for a birthday/anniversary. They even do a medium rare "plus" which is right in-between the medium rare and medium - it was perfect for the filet. The food was amazing and it all gets set down at the same time and the atmosphere is great. The brussel sprouts are to die for.
Everything was amazing. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and extremely flavorful. The cocktails were strong and delicious. The service was second to none. Our waiter, Walter, was wonderful and made the evening unforgettable.
Everyone in my party was extremely pleased with their dinners. As usual, the service, food and overall atmosphere at the Chop House was nothing short of a very high class operation. From the greeter at the door to the service staff and the management the Chop House is a very well run operation. Everyone was professional in their individual duties. I will be back there as soon as possible.
Great food and service! Tables so close that waiters behind was right in our faces when present. Also, quite loud.
We requested Sheldon as our waiter, and he didn’t disappoint-he is friendly, attentive ( but not overly), and knowledgeable. The food is fantastic, including the yummy desserts.
Walter is a great manager!
As always The Chop House is outstanding. The food is delicious, service outstanding, and a great atmosphere. Definitely our favorite Ann Arbor restaurant.
Great food and nice service. A good birthday deal. Very ideal place for dating or fine dining.
Went to the Chop House for a birthday dinner and was not impressed. The drinks we ordered (an Old Fashioned and a Martini) were not good. We have had great steaks at other prime steakhouses and don't mind paying a premium for great food, however, the quality and taste of both the steaks (filets) and the sides (brussel sprouts and potatoes Au Gratin) were not on par with other chop houses of the same caliber. They do have a great birthday discount and that was the best part of the meal. We have had significantly better food and for the price, we expected better than "OK". I would suggest spending $175 on a dinner for 2 elsewhere.
Server was awesome. Attentive to my wife’s garlic allergy. Gnocchi was very tasty. We will return.
Felt it was over-pretentious. Three waiters arriving with our plates simultaneously was a bit too much. No draft beer was a clue when we arrived. Steaks were amazing - broccoli almost raw and sprouts similar. $300 for three people with only two bottled beers and no desserts was too much for what was offered.
The food, as always, was spectacular. Sheldon, our waiter, was great. We have already requested him for a future visit.
The Chop House is the best steakhouse in Ann Arbor. Its ribeye steak is appropriately juicy, sautéed spinach and mushrooms appropriately well-executed. Markups for wine are standard--several of their Rieslings are excellent. As with most steakhouses, however, most home cooks could make steaks and accompaniments at home for a third of the price and a marginal difference in taste.
It's the waiters who separate the Chop House from home. Courteous and professional, they strike the perfect balance between fussy and endearing. To receive nostalgic white tablecloth service, even for a night, is worth at least half the bill. There's a nice buzz with dusk lighting.
Being a dessert-friendly person, I will say that Chop House desserts are a bargain. The cheesecake is marvelously creamy, accented by salt in the filling, while the chocolate cake, accompanied by cookies and cream gelato, is a wise man's coffee and a donut. Key lime pie aficionados will appreciate the Meyer lemon tart.
In the end, the Chop House is ideal for birthdays (a 25% discount with ID) and anniversaries, especially for established professionals or young people looking to flex on their less-old-fashioned friends. Plan to feel delightfully sophisticated and taken care of after a great restaurant experience that is more than the sum of its food.
My husband and I always celebrate our birthdays at The Chop House and they never disappoint! From the delicious food choices to the excellent service, we love coming here!
Server wasn’t the best.. He didn’t give us general information of the restaurant. It was our anniversary other places made us feel way more special. Food was bland..
Service and food were exceptional. Luke did an outstanding job!!!!!
The lamb is incredibly good. Each time that I go to the chop House this is what I order
We went to the Chop House to celebrate a family event. Everyone working there was polite, friendly and enthusiastic. They went out of their way to make sure we felt special. Service was excellent. The food was delicious and plentiful. We really enjoyed the entire experience.
This was my 5th visit this year celebrating a Birthday! This time was my sons 30th Birthday ! I requested Eman my favorite waitress!! She is always so sweet and friendly and as always makes sure everything is perfect!! My son was hesitant in celebrating this mild stone and only agreed after I told him how much fun it would be and he wouldn't be disappointed and he gets to celebrate with his momma and girlfriend! And surprise guest Stacey his little sister!
The dinning experience was wonderful as always and the food was delicious! Eman made the evening fun and my son left saying how fun it was and glad he decided to celebrate!
As we left we talked with Walter and we told him how great Eman was ..he said she learned from the best!! Himself! LOL The Chop house is lucky to have Eman and Sheldon( he took care of us last time and was just as wonderful as Eman is)!!!
As usual i was completely satisfied and just glad the staff was tolerant of us as well...
Birthday and farewell
This was our first time going to The Chop House and it was fabulous. Our waiter Nick P had great suggestions and was very kind. Made our date night lovely and we will definitely be back.
Sheldon, Eman, Gordie, Nick, and team were amazing!
Great experience, wish all of the prices were in print. Amazing tomahawk steak and lobster. Service was top notch
Great food (huge portions) and service at this Downtown steakhouse. The pork chops were outrageously delicious and juicy. The lobster bite appetizer was excellent as well.
Always outstanding. Quiet on a Sunday evening. Memorable for those eating at Chop House for the first time. A reminder for those of us who have dined here before of what a top-notch restaurant should look and feel like. Thank you.
Had a wonderful evening at the chop house, loved the food, especially the beef wellington and had an amazing server named Sindy who took excellent care of me and my guest. She paired with the wonderful food created an evening that I will always remember fondly. Great Value, especially when you consider the quality of the food and the service that was provided.
All staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to be accommodating to us and our infant.
Sindy was amazing!
Steak always prepared to perfection ~ rare! Have never had to send anything back, not even the steak which seems to be the norm at other fine dining establishments. Great cigar lounge, supberb selection, and lovely wines and champagnes too! Love this place ❤️
Really loved experience. Food and service were great. It was very expensive but very enjoyable. The only negative thing I would say is it was very loud and my table was very close to the one next to me so I could hear there whole conversation. Other than that I loved The Chop House.
The food was good but I’m not convinced it was worth the price especially with no sides included. It was very noisy and dark too.
Expensive, but the meal was to die for. Perfect in every way.
Glad I don’t drink anymore, (bill would have been twice) great wine list.
One of the finest dining experiences we have had.
Always an enjoyable evening at the Chop House
Very nice staff and amazing food
The food here is outstanding. While Ann Arbor has a lot of delicious choices, this is one of the few that I would rate as being truly impressive. The appetizers were spectacular, the mains amazing. They also have an excellent liquor stock and seem to have bounced back from a little weakness over the past year or two on that front. Great place!
Everything about Chop House is extraordinary. We lamented about our favorite place being closed today, yet after the first few bites we knew we had a new favorite dinning spot. Wow! The rolls are divine, served hot with a delicate cheese inside.
An absolute must try are the crispy lobster bites, and the jumbo lump crab and lobster cakes... delicious! My all time favorite meal, Chilean Sea Bass was served with a purée and sautéed/roasted tomatoes and sprigs.
Food usually very good but venison on this occasion was overly rare in center and chewed. Fish, Brussel sprouts, staff, waiter and everything else was excellent.
