Another fabulous meal, and excellent service. Sheldon is the best!
I had a great experience. Everything was delicious and looking forward to coming back now that i love closer.
Terrific food (you pay for it!) and equally terrific service!
Love this place! We always go on either my husband's or mines birthday to get the 50% off. It is worth regular prices as well for special occasions.
The crab cakes are amazing! Stafff is always very friendly!
One of the best meals I've had recently. From the appetizer to the entrees and accompanied sides, great food.
We went here for my husband’s birthday and had a great time! The food and service were excellent. Definitely very pricey so not for everyone, but very good!
Great as usual
Very fun, elegant experience :)
The Chop House Ann Arbor was a FANTASTIC experience overall. The atmosphere was wonderful. The service was outstanding. The food was out of this world!! We would definitely recommend this restaurant.
My significant other and drove over an hour here for our anniversary. It was busy because of a big game going on that night. The actual place is beautiful, and the food is absolutely delicious and unique, most things being made from scratch. I was not a huge fan of our server, she often had a derogative attitude towards us, and I have seen reviews saying that may happen. My boyfriend and I are early twenties, but she didn't seem that much older than we were. I do not believe she meant it, but she overexplanned things like we were children and would answer in a condescending tone when we asked questions. All food is family portioned so main dishes like steak do not come with sides. They have a very extensive wine list and EXTREMELY blown up in price, a bottle of wine I can buy at my work cost at least twice as much there. Liquors were lackluster and beers were pretty good. The cigar lounge was a 10/10 very beautiful and peaceful, I'd recommend bringing your own cigars though as the selection is a glass showcase the size of a dresser. Overall would I drive over an hour to go back and spend the money, no.
Fantastic Dinner with service to match. I had the Cowboy Steak (Ribeye) cooked Pittsburgh MR that was perfect, along with and a good Single Malt Scotch. My wife had the Dover Sole, which she has every time we come to this restaurant and it was absolutely cooked to perfection. For desert we split an unbelievable "Bread Pudding" ... So for a great dinner in Ann Arbor anytime, it's THE Chop House. !!!
We had a typically excellent meal, great oysters and good value champagne. WHat's not to like?
Good birthday experience. Service and food excellent.😁👏
I think Chop House’s food, and more importantly service, is really sub-par for a high end restaurant. Steak was average at best, drinks fair, and server nowhere to be found most of the evening. There are many better options in Ann Arbor. Overall, I think Main Street Ventures is just terrible at customer service and it really shows at Chop House.
The food and service was outstanding. Our servicer was simply the best, she was very helpful with my dairy allergy and knowledgeable about the menu and wine.
The food and service were great. Sheldon, our waiter, made certain we had a wonderful experience as well as great food.
Having all kids home!
Everyone throughly their meal. The addition of Sea Bass, recently, to the menu was suburb. The staff took great care of us and let us enjoy a leisurely meal and evening. Can’t wait to go back to the Chop House.
Venison chop ok but not great. Mint Jelly mixture for the lamp chops marginal.
Every dish served was luke warm at best. Certainly not hot.
Dover sole was not even warm. Seafood should be served hot and on a warmed plate. Dover sole was not properly seasoned- tasteless. Amondine sauce was cold.
Steak frites - steak was tough, not warm, and tasteless.
Frites were so thin and crispy the hardly tasted like potatoes.
Venison rack was good. Again though not hot.
Mushroom side was cold and bland.
Asparagus was good.
It hardly makes sense to present the whole Dover Sole to the customer and then set it on an adjoining table for boning- walk away from it for a few minutes- all the time it is cooling- then finally return to bone and fillet the fish. By then the fish is certainly cold.
A terrific experience to top off the evening following a Michigan victory at The Big House! This is a high end establishment, with price points to match, but both the food and service are on point and well worth the "price of admission". Food was well executed and the service is professional (but not stuffy). As a Michigan football fan, our party enjoyed dining downstairs in the "Lloyd Carr" room as the walls were adorned with Michigan football teams photos and memorabilia. Kudos to our servers Anna and Makela...without a doubt you two make The Chop House management proud!
Saturday night post game dinner and for the prices it’s good not great. Service ok drinks ok and steaks good a little short on flavor and some sides came tepid not hot. For the money AA offers many better options. Go blue
Delicious food, great atmosphere, a great place to celebrate a special occasion.
Service, Food, Atmosphere all Outstanding! All of our steaks were prepared to perfection. Lobster gnocchi appetizer was crazy good. Truly enjoyed our special birthday dinner.
As a vegetarian here are the foods I picked: I did enjoy the cheese plate appetizer, the mac n cheese with poblanos, and the roasted mushrooms. My partner had beef wellington and really enjoyed it! It is kind of loud and busy, which was pretty cool actually. Our server was great too. We had his birthday dinner in the lounge downstairs which was really cool too.
AMAZING FOOD. Best steak I've ever had by far and the steak melts in your mouth. Good food comes with a price- very expensive for Ann Arbor, can't eat a hearty meal for 2 people that will be under $100. Ambiance is amazing and staff was extremely helpful in explaining the menu for first timers. Servers place food down on the table at the same time for all diners- quite the experience and service. Great for business meals, anniversaries, birthdays, parents weekend, and a nicer dinner out with friends. All I can say is WOW and I will be back!
Spent 3 hours eating dinner here. The food was only ok. We had the lamb chops and venison chops. The lamb chops were underseasoned. the venison came with a nice sauce. The au gratin potatoes are a hefty portion. Sides here are meant for sharing. The potatoes were not very cheesy, but they were acceptable. Brussel sprouts were good, solid. Nothing outstanding. I would say the thing I was most disappointed in was the service. No hussle to our server. Coffee came after we were done with dessert. Then we waited another 20 minutes for the bill.
I would say for the price, there are better options in Ann Arbor.
The service and food was incredible all around.
The food was as expensive as it was amazing. Expect to pay $50-$100 per head for food (without drinks). All menu items are ale-cart. I will say that my Bone-In NY Strip ($50) and asparagus ($15) where beyond reproach. You won't find better a cut or more perfectly prepared steak in the state of Michigan. The wait staff and management were also very polite and accommodating. FYI, a birthday person gets 50% off.
The Chop House was nice and our waitress was great but not worth the price. Food was overcooked and not prepared as asked.
Everything was delicious. My steak was cooked perfectly.
Made a reservation to celebrate my son's 20th birthday on Saturday night. I made note in the reservation that we were celebrating his birthday and to please put a candle in dessert. Upon arrival, we were seated downstairs in a small room, at a too large table for the 3 of us to comfortably have a conversation without moving all our chairs closer to one side of the round. They also didn't fully clear the other place settings at the table. The waiter was friendly. We informed him we were celebrating a birthday. While we were there, we had waiters coming up 3 different times with someone else's order. The food is just ok and way overpriced for what it is. Nothing special although the meat is good quality. We ordered a dessert which arrived with no candle or acknowledgement of the birthday. I sent the waiter back to make it right. Just overall felt like we were an afterthought from the seating to the celebrating.
Some of the best food I have ever eaten. Steaks cooked perfectly to order, amazing sides and appetizers, and a phenomenal ambiance for dining and talking. If I was rich, this would be the only place I would eat, period.
Very warm and friendly staff. Nicely recognized our special occasion.
We had a great time celebrating a 40th birthday. The Chop House has a very courteous staff, great food and has gluten free options. We loved this place and definitely will come back.
The Chop House is one of my favorites. The food and service were great. My two concerns: the servers casually talking over the food while it was on the tray waiting to be served or wrapped to be taken home. A server (not mine) was setting up the table next to me and had her backside in my personal space for an extended period, she could have easily worked on the opposite side of the table until we were finished eating (as I noticed other servers doing) and after she polished glasses and silverware she dropped the cloth on the floor picked it up and continued to wipe.
Service was a little slow to come check on us, but quick once we had a request. The popovers came too infrequently.
Just bad service, usually a great time but just average service, and it takes a lot for me to complain about my favorite place
From our service to the dessert! They made my birthday AMAZING! Thank you again to the entire staff!
We had a really nice birthday celebration. The steaks were perfectly prepared. We all want to come back soon.
