This was probably one of the least attentive service we have ever had there. We usually go 3 times a year. We were just the two of us and it seemed the larger table got the most attention. Bummer. The Cowboy steak was rare. Medium rare was our order. The flavor was excellent however. The wedge salad was meh. I usually get it with ranch dressing. They changed ranch brands. This one is terrible. I’d like the old one back. Hidden Valley Ranch powder with mayo is what it used to taste like. We celebrated our 13 yr anniversary. We received two fudge balls and happy anniversary spelled out in chocolate. Nice touch. Thank you.
Yearly trip - always a good date night - excellent food and service
Every time I’m in town I have to have dinner here. One of the best steakhouses I’ve been.
We go there at least once a season to celebrate a UofM football victory (hopefully). The food and service are always excellent and worth the price.
We had a wonderful dinner with wonderful service.
Went for birthday celebration. The meal was fantastic. The service was also fantastic. Really loved the rolls provided before the meal. May be are most favorite restaurant ever! Definitely will be back.
From start to finish everything was prepared perfectly. Wait staff was attentive but not overwhelming. Food was excellent. High end dining but you get what you pay for and it’s worth the $! Enjoy.
Service was very responsive. Waiter was helpful in describing temperature of meats. Pricey with all sides extra. I did not appreciate a big difference in flavor of the steaks. As part of Main Street Ventures , we chose this for the birthday discount. When we mentioned the birthday to the waiter, we received the full bill (expected, so as to reflect the actual amount to tip), and no instruction that if we provide a drivers license, the bill would be adjuated. We double checked that this actually was Main Street and then asked. Only then did the waiter mention this. I
Service was prompt and it was on a gameday. Appetizer was calamari and although it was good, it was not as good as the last time I dined here. We ordered the hand rubbed aged Waygu steaks. They were delicious but I believe I can grill meat from Wal Mart or Sams to the same outstanding level for significantly lower cost. I don't believe I'll go back again unless its for a special event and even then there are other great restaurants in the area that might take preference.
Food was fantastic. Service was ok. Plan to spend $$ but if the price point surprises you then this isn’t the place for you.
They tried to handle our allergy concerns well but my son with a dairy allergy had goat cheese on his lamb lollipops the first AND second time they brought it out.
They forgot my Voss water and my daughter’s lemons for her water. When they brought the Voss water out they mixed it with my tap water instead of getting me a new glass.
Our shrimp cocktail never came out. But that was ok because we over ordered. I didn’t double check to see if we were charged.
Other than those hiccups the service was otherwise good. Ocean Prime in Troy is our go to place for special occasions and we have never had any issues like this at that restaurant over the last 10 years.
The food though...... wow!! Everything that everyone at was just super. We had a large party and this is what we had......
Lamb Lollipops-perfectly made
Ahi Tuna-sushi grade and delicious
Oysters - Bluepoint (the two sauces that came with it were to die for!)
Seared Sirloin Tips - excellent
Scallops - I’m personally not a scallops fan but this was so good!!
Dry aged Prime
Filet Mignon ah Poivre
Mac and Cheese
King Crab Gnocchi
Everything was perfectly cooked. From a foodie perspective the food was top notch. The service for $1000 dinner was not quite what one would have expected.
I would probably return as a couple but I’m not sure that they handle large parties very well from this hopefully isolated experience.
The server we usually request is no longer with the restaurant, but we were introduced to a new employee, Cody who did a fine job! She was knowledgeable of the menu selections and was attentive to each table in her area. Food was outstanding as per usual!
Another incredible meal at the Chop House. We try and go here a few times a year and every single time it exceeds your expectations. It feels like the first time each time you come here. The food is always perfectly consistent and the service staff is fantastic. Our waiter remembered us eating there from almost a year ago and was just amazing. Highly recommend great for a special meal or a celebration. It’s definitely an experience eating here. The beef Wellington was perfect cooked and the puff pastry was crazy good and my mother’s ahi tuna was pretty amazing also. Thanks
We had a wonderful time celebrating my boyfriends birthday. Sergio was are server, it was our first time eating there and he was very friendly & helpful with the menu. The food was delicious!! We will be back.
Walter is the best - always friendly, welcoming and making sure things are done to the high standards of the Chop House. Enjoyable evening as always 😁
The Ann Arbor Chop House bar staff is first rate. No place makes a better martini. The food is super, but a little salty.
Service and food were great !
Service was excellent. Waitress was attentive, and able to make wine recommendation. Food was well prepared, and serving size was ample. Prices are a bit high, but for a prime steak & seafood restaurant, in line with similar restaurants in area.
Such amazing food and service every time! Never disappoints.
The food was fabulous. Have not had steaks this good in a very long time including at Ruth Chris. Wait staff was delightful. A wonderful evening!
Great birthday dinner - good food and service, very accommodating for sharing, attentive to needs of guests.
The food was great, the steaks are always a little under cooked so keep that in mind! Pam waited on us and 3 days later we are still talking about her. She was exceptional! She was so friendly but still efficient which made for a great combination and a very memorable evening.
steak as last year was perfect. sons beef wellington was outstanding as well.
Incredible steaks and sides. The au poivre sauce is amazing. One of the best French onion soups I have ever had.
Waited five minutes for hostess who just said she would be with us in a moment. Twenty minute wait for a drink. Extremely loud, i couldnt even hear the server. The service really lacked this time. It was very disappointing.
The service, food, and atmosphere were terrific. We were celebrating our daughter’s 40th birthday, and the staff was outstanding, helping us take photos, making sure the cake and candles were delivered in an appropriate time, and very attentive to every detail of our dinner. We will definitely go back. One of the best meals we’ve had in Ann Arbor for sure!!! :)
Excellent food and service though the service was a little slow at the beginning.
Oddly, the wait staff failed to offer any bread...
Loved our birthday celebration at The Chop House! Michaela was a phenomenal server, always at the ready to refill wine, suggest appetizers, etc. The Espresso filet was outstanding! Appetizers are generous portions and meant to be shared. Save room for dessert!
We enjoyed everything about our experience except for 1 thing. The music was just a bit to loud for our liking. Otherwise it was perfect.
The food was good but we were not impressed with our waiter. We had been there a year ago and the service was phenomenal; can’t say that for this visit. We both felt the waiter didn’t really care to give us the time of day
First time I have left the Chop House a bit disappointed. Au gratin potatoes were bland. Steaks were good but I want excellent for the amount they cost. When
Amazing. Made my night very special . Hats off to the wait staff.
For Chinese Valentine's Day, Very good environment, romantic. Food is delicious. Recommend the Pork Chops.
Our visit was a bit tempered by the presence of large groups during a convention week. This slowed the beverage service noticeably. The experienced and professional serving staff jumped in and saved the day. The long tenure serving staff of the Chop House is its hallmark, along with a classic prime steakhouse menu - a major reason to return year after year.
Nick our waiter was OUTSTANDING! Request Nick for a waiter!
Had to remind our server to bring our salads after dinner was served. And steak was not prepared properly.
Good food. Our waitress was very nice but one of the servers or busboys (I'm not sure his role) was very curt and impatient. He offered to bring us water and after we told him that our waitress had already taken our water order he gave a very abrasive response of "Well maybe I can expedite that." Our waitress was literally right behind him bringing our water. He had a similar abrasiveness when he offered us popovers. He was young looking like maybe an undergraduate in college. He didn't behave professionally and seemed to be impatient with his coworkers. Neither my wife or I had a full place setting when we sat down so I asked this guy for another fork to eat the popovers. When he brought the fork he did kind of thrusted it out at me in an aggressive or impatient manner. Just really bizarre behavior and body language. Our waitress later brought us replacement silverware. Besides this strange server, I notice there doesn't seem to be much of a dress code. A lot of the men coming in dressed very casually. I even saw a guy wearing a baseball cap at his table. I'm there with dress pants, a shirt and tie. I feel like if I'm going to be spending a few hundred dollars (which is A LOT of money for someone like me) on a meal in what is supposed to be an upscale establishment I should be surrounded by people with more respect for the restaurant. My biggest pet-peeve is people wearing hats inside seated inside a restaurant.
Best and favorite Ann Arbor fine dining restaurant. Steaks are great and lobster outstanding!
Great food. Great service. Good noise level. Overall Top-notch chophouse. See you soon.
Great food and service! Sindhoja was a wonderful server. She was very helpful with recommending food choices and explaining the menu and food origins. Every part of the meal was awesome...including dessert. Will be coming back!
