Was as good as any highly rated restaurant, I have been to many and to michelin star restaurants around the world and this was remarkable.

When we were leaving one of the staff preparing the salads was mixing the brussel sprout salad with his hands. We were absolutely horrified. I had the brussel sprout salad and felt sick. Please review the tape for Monday Dec. 11, 2017 @ 2PM. You will see the shock on our faces.

This is a wonderful spot for lunch. A great deal for a 3 course meal and they allow flexibility in which courses you order, so I had 2 appetizers instead of a dessert. Very nice ambiance and staff are excellent. You can also watch your food being prepared on an overhead screen.

Our office group had a great meal experience at Chef's House Restaurant, with distinctive and delicious lunch options.
The service reflects a higher level of a restaurant food event, yet the price is more moderate, so makes it accessible to most folks.
We're always glad to support the initiative of the traineeship that GBC offers chef students and service staff in an actual restaurant setting.

We enjoyed the ambience, the decor and the food. The presentation was outstanding and the combinations creative and delicious.
However, I feel that it is an expensive evening for a School Learning situation..

We always really enjoy our experience at the Chef’s House. The creativity and work out into each dish is remarkable. Obviously depending on your taste in food, some bits are more exceptional than others, but overall a great place for foodies!

This restaurant is so unique and so fun. The menu is always changing and it is consistently high quality for excellent value. We love to bring out of town guests here because it lends itself to great conversation. The students are incredible and it is an easy way to support their program through George Brown and get a great experience at the same time.

It was great to support the students at George Brown college. Overall the food and service was good. We had a 6:30 reservation and got in about 6:20 and we were served promptly. The dessert was to die for. The restaurant was tastefully decorated. The restrooms were clean.

Chef school restaurants can be very hit and miss, but The Chefs' House is definitely a hit.

Students of George Brown College's culinary school prepare your food in a very open kitchen (with bar seating available) as well as a large TV on the wall that gives patrons a bird's eye view of what the cooks are up to.

The service staff are also students at GBC's hospitality program, and are very attentive and professional.

$35 for a three course meal (you can do 2 appetizers and 1 main, 1 appetizer 1 main 1 dessert, or 1 main and 2 deserts) is a great value for the quality of the dishes you get. The affordability makes this place great for dates without breaking the bank.
The menu is changed weekly, which makes The Chefs House a restaurant you can keep coming back to again and again, and its a different experience every time.

Food was varied, flavorful and colourful. Members of the party seemed to most enjoy the pork dumplings and lasagne. The chicken rice bowls were tasty and hearty. The kale salad was a bit too much greens/lettuce and a bit tart. The soup might have used a bit more seasoning. The desert pictured below was worthy of seconds! Thank you.

Good food with new menu items regularly, good service and a pleasant setting. It is busy at peak times and service can be a little slow but I enjoy the different menu offerings so it's worth the wait.

I like that the menu is price fixe. I like bringing friends here because for the quality of food and service it's such good value. Plus I like to support future culinary talent.

This is our 4th visit here for both lunch and dinner. We try to get here after every menu change. We have never been disappointed. The food is always good here. Every so often there is a miss step, but generally; considering the staff are culinary students at varying levels of study, things happen, that is part of the charm of the experience. Kudos to the students. Excellent work.

The food was very good: tasty and creative and a bit unusual and all four of us enjoyed it. For a teaching venue however, the menu was pretty pricey, hence the 3-star rating for "value".

The food was excellent, just the right amount on the plate - no leftovers. Service was relaxed and friendly; our water glasses were refilled as needed without asking. The sous-vide chicken seemed a little dry; on reviewing the menu, it appeared our waiter forgot about the accompanying sauce. Still, it was tasty. The restaurant itself had a comfortable aura. Although the ceilings were high, they seemed to absorb the sounds of conversations. My dinner partner and I could carry on a conversation without having to yell at each other. Definitely, a great experience!

I have gone to four Summerlicious 2017 dinners so far and the dinner I had at The Chef's House was by far the best (better than Brassai, Toula's, Cluny - bland meals). It was interesting to see the open concept kitchen in action with a TV screen directly above our table so we could see what was being cooked. The only bad thing about the ambiance was that it was a very hot day, the kitchen was also hot and the heat radiating into the dining room. The air conditioning couldn't handle it and there were no fans. Luckily I had a Spanish fan in my purse which I used to fan myself. The appetizer I had was the warm tomato tart. It was outstanding with a lot of flavour. I then had the lamb loin which was also outstanding. I'm not a fan of mint sauce, but what the chefs did with the mint by making it more of a creamy sauce that wasn't overpowered by mint was nothing short of spectacular. For dessert, I had the funnel cake with strawberry preserves and lavender ice cream. It was my first time eating a funnel cake and now I'm a fan! The strawberry preserves were just enough and the lavender ice cream had just a hint of lavender and was balanced by vanilla. I was almost tempted to lick the plates of all three dishes! Even the bread and butter were great - a mix of breads (focaccia, brioche) and butter with a hint of herbs and citrus. I would definitely come back! There's even a private room downstairs that would be great for a birthday dinner or other special occasion.

We have been going to this place for many years, even before it got its new (not so new now) name "Chefs' House, and have always been very satisfied with the food quality and creativity.
Also its prices are very economical. Would recommend this place to anyone. Also it is a good way we as a community can support the hospitality school and its students, as they prepare themselves and graduate as food service professionals of the future.

Came here for the first time for summerlicious.

Surprisingly classy and modern interior. It was interesting that you could watch the chefs cook via the tv screen but from our booth by the back wall, we would have to strain our necks to watch.

I had the tart, lamb, and sorbet. My fiancee on the otherhand had the tartare and trout.
Food was really great but I did like the trout a lot more than the lamb. It was sooo soft and juicy! Our only complaint was the really really hard bruchetta that came with the tartare.

Always fun to have an evening out and introduce new people to The Chef's House. Menu is always different each time we've been which makes it adventurous for taste buds. Salad with buttermilk dressing, trout (main course) and tunnel cake was all delicious. Lamb was nicely cooked but could have been spiced up a bit. This was the Summerlicious event...always fun.

Went for Summerlicious. Service was excellent, the food was first rate in both presentation and taste.Had the smoked ham hock terrine and the accompanying pickles and fig compote were a perfect match. The Lamb loin was beautifully cooked and the walnuts a perfect foil along with the other sauces and sides. The only disappointment was the funnel cake which should have either been smaller or had a larger scoop of ice cream.

Love to be able to watch the chefs create in the kitchen through "tv". The service and food both excellent. Would highly recommend this very unique dining experience! Will definitely dine there again!

The waiter Alex, was charming and helpful, but would benefit from starting with a greater knowledge of the food. He was however able to get the answers for all our questions.

The Salad and salad dressing was exceptional as was the trout and its sauce etc. The strawberry dessert lacked that something special, not bad, just very bland.

My friend enjoyed every part of her meal as well.
