The Chefs' House - George Brown College
First time at The Chef’s House. We were blown away with the professionalism of the students. Service was excellent. We were constantly attended to. Food and presentation was top notch. Will be back again.
Excellent food and service. We were celebrating a birthday and The Chef's House made it very memorable. Highly recommend.
The entire dining experience far exceeded all expectations. The food was delicious and the service was exemplary. Such attentive staff, very determined to ensure a fine dining experience. Highly recommended!
A great effort on all counts. The students are working so hard, so earnest! Presentation of the food was outstanding and the food was delicious! Well done everyone!!
Very much worth the visit. Staff is very attentive. Food is tasty. Might be trying a bit to hard to be unique/cutting edge in some things. Fresh bread and spreads were fantastic ! Had Duck Tortellini and would order it again any time
This hidden gem perfectly balanced delicious food with support for up and coming hospitality professionals. The service was excellent, the price was too low! Will definitely be back. Thank you Chef’s house.
The food is excellent - it is a very humbling place to eat as you see the pride in the chefs and the intent attitude of the hospitality servers as they try to ensure you have the best dining experience.
It is my favorite place to eat in the city and it make me proud that George Brown allows us to experience the success of their programs.
Atmosphere as we walked in was very relaxing. Service very attentive, professional and efficient. Given experiences in other restaurants value for money outstanding. Food delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Great place to dine and take a friend or some other e special.to.greatfood for a special treat. Thanks to all involved Had a great time and the value is 2nd to none.
a great find! The chefs in training produced a spectacular dining experience. Some of the meals were maybe a bit basic taste wise … but The plating was outstanding and overall experience exceeded expectations. Great value for money (and you're investing in the next great chef!)
We had a wonderful experience at the Chef's House. The servers were attentive and the food was delicious. We will return.
It was the first time and we we’re thoroughly delighted. The food was excellent and the service superb.
I gave the service a 4 simply because it may have been too attentive (if there is such a thing). We wanted to return tonight but unforeseen circumstances prevented it. We’ll see you soon Jason
We had the post-graduate Italian chef’s special meal
And it was absolute delicious. The timing of drinks/meal was not perfect but the food made up for it.
Can’t wait to go back. Great space.
Always a pleasure to come here. Great food and friendly
I have already recomended to a number of people. My sons enjoyed their birthday meal there
Amazing food experience and very attentive service.
Very good value.
Good performance from students who serve and cook.
Food is very fresh. Good in quality. Quantity can be better.
Good evening to have dInner with people not just looking for money, but delivery of good services.
I will come back to enjoy nice meals again. Please maintain your good services and good food with reasonable prices. Thank you.
Have been here 3x and always satisfied. For sure will come again and highly recommended.
Antre was good
Second course Lamb was a bit too dry
Total score 4.8
The Chef’s House never disappoints! The food is equisite in presentation and flavours - I come frequently because everything is wonderful! Well done students of George Brown Culinary and Hospitality School!!!
It was our first visit to The Chef's House. We loved it - from the ambience to the service to the food. Wonderful to see that OpenTable is asking about the noise level. Thankfully this is a place where you can speak comfortably to your lunch companions. A terrific vibe!
We come here several times per year. This time for Winterlicious and all of the dishes we ordered were spectacular except for the chocolate cake which was a dustbowl.
I like their sevice.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Winterlicious lunch. We especially loved the lamb shank and lemon tart! We had a couple of opportunities to chat with the chef whose menu was being featured that day (Craig?), and enjoyed hearing about his time in Italy and how it enhanced his culinary skills.
Wen there for winterlicious. Overall quite pleased with food & very good service. We only found that portions were a bit small so we left the restaurant still a bit hungry after the 3 courses..
We had a fantastic winterlicious meal. The food was great and presented well. The service was great but almost a bit 'too much' .. every time I took a sip she was over refilling my glass :) My only issue was that we were given a terrible table. I booked many weeks in advance and were given a table that was just stuck back by the coats! There were just two of us and we were given a table for four but two of the chairs were taken away and it just felt like the table shouldn't have even been there. The food was great but it just ruined the atmosphere to be stuck in this weird spot.
Some of the dishes are salty for our taste and the duck breast also chewy. We have provided feedback to the supervisor. Thanks.
Wonderful experience; food was great and so was service, especially with a nice touch for the person celebrating his birthday - thank you! One note: the servers should get some intro to wine serving and pairing. Maybe George Brown College could get into some partnership with Brock University - that would certainly provide the students with great opportunity to learn about wines. Otherwise, it was fantastic evening. Thank you again.
Went to dinner with friends and wanted a place where we could simply relax and enjoy and have a wonderful meal, which we did! Also our server Anni was great, as were the rest of the staff. We would 100% recommend and will be back again.
Really great food in an amazing room. The wine suggestion was also great.
Five of us came here during Winterlicious during our lunch hour, had reservations for 12:15 and were seated right away. Food was very good, but service was very slow (it was not busy at all). Our meal didn’t come until close to 1pm. And then we had to flag staff down for tea/coffee and then again for the bill at close to 2pm. Kudos to the chefs/cooks though. Not sure I’d come back if I was pressed to get in and out within an hour or so.
I hosted a business lunch meeting and everyone raved about the ambiance and the food. We loved the students involvement and being part of their training internship. Thank you for having this in our business community. I look forward to coming for dinner.
I went for the Winterlicious event BUT was pleasantly surprised when a chef from the school was being featured as well (Jordan Diniz). His menu offering was the same pricing as the Winterlicious offering, the difference being that Jordan was featuring a three or four course based on his experiencing "apprenticing" in France. You could also mix and match from both menus, which I thought was very accommodating.
I went for the entire offerings from Jordan's menu ad was NOT disappointed. His fusion of his own creativity and the knowledge he gleaned from his experience in France made for a delicious tasting and an outstanding culinary delight. His main course of duck was quite spectacular both to the palate and the eyes.
More engaging was the conversation with Jordan as he visited every table to give a talk about his menu and the choices in terms of the preparation and his experimentation with his local and overseas knowledge.
My friend and I had an excellent lunch at The Chef's House. The food was delicious and beautifully plated; the servers were fresh-faced, eager-to-please young people who tended quickly to our every need. And the value-for-money was unbeatable. Highly recommended!
Ontario trout is definitely gorgeous！crisp skin and juice body, taste and plating balanced quite well. For sure will be back!
Food was incredible. Fresh. Flavorful. Everything was so delish. I had the gnocchi and it was so soft and melted in my mouth.
The cuisine made from scratch was delicious from start to finish. Homemade rolls at recess or warm with what cuisine butter and spread or enjoyable. The entrées offered great selection and pallet pleasing tastes.
Music was a bit loud at one point and not conducive to dining and discussions. All was accomodated including fzcilities and a grand maitre d’hotel. Shall have more birthday celebrations at The Chef’s House. Merci!
Great food, nice service. Keep rocking!
We had a wonderful first lunch experience. Surprised that a special Italian menu was being offered in addition to the menu that was posted online. Given that it was the last day of the special Italian menu and the fact the the chef introduced himself and his special menu, 3 out of 4 of us had to go Italian. Everything was delicious. Particularly impressed with the lovely root veggie salad and uniquely smoke infused pasta. However, service was rather slow. Servers were all very pleasant, but a bit hesitant in delivery which will undoubtedly improve over time. Website menu should be updated to include special menus. Will definitely return!
