So Disappointing. Menu looked great but all the food lacked flavor. All the staff and atmosphere was great, but when you’re paying that much money, I was expecting a higher quality of food. Had the Onion Soup; no onions, watered down and no seasoning at all. Duck confit was ok but was rubbery and no depth of flavor whatsoever. Shame as we were really looking forward to it, was a beautiful night to be lakeside, just for that price, I was expecting so much more value.

My husband and I are vacationing in Bolton Landing and thought the Chateau’s menu looked great. We were welcomed on arrival by a pleasant hostess who showed us our seating options and we chose a table on the porch. Our server was friendly but obviously inexperienced. Another table near us got much more of the server’s attention, while we waited several minutes to even place a drink order. The server returned about 10 minutes after we ordered to ask how I wanted my meat cooked. The food, however, saved the night. H thought the onion soup was perfect, and very much enjoyed the chateaubriand. I enjoyed the arugula and beet salad - terrific vinaigrette, perfect amount of dressing - and loved the venison, it was flavorful and tender and the roasted carrots were the perfect accompaniment. Peanut butter chocolate cake for dessert was good but not outstanding, and I guess the server decided we should share one dessert rather than each have our own. Conclusion - excellent food, pleasant setting, but the service didn’t live up to the price point.

Beautiful, quaint and elegant! Our dinner was exceptional. We had the pork chop and the chicken francaise. Our waitress Lena (spelling?) was the sweetest, so personable and super attentive! We can’t wait to return!

We have been here many times. Last night we sat inside our server Andrea. We got the soup of the day lobster bisque delicious, escargot and french onion also delicious. A couple of us got the special surf and turf very good highly recommended if they run it again. We also got snapper and venison 10 out of 10 can't wait to come back Not sure if you have heard but they're staying open We were very excited to hear

Came several times this summer, not sure what has changed but Cheers to you. Our lamb lollies were the best they've been all summer. The venison was some of the best I've ever had that when I went to the bathroom I shook the chef's hand. The snapper with lobster risotto excellent as well. Excited to see this small family-owned restaurant doing so well highly recommend making a reservations ahead of time to reserve the porch best seats in the house Mark thanks for taking care of us

Our experience was not the best. They seated us outside under a white tent that needed to be hosed down it was dirty, they must us it when it rains or for events. The starter we got was clams with corn, pancetta and tomatoes. We did receive eight big clams and a bowl full of heavy cream with very very little corn and tomatoes but enough pancetta. Why not have less cream and more corn and tomatoes, It is the season, summer right? My husband ordered the red snapper with lobster risotto and it was okay fish a little dry. I ordered the seafood pasta special, fish was good it had shrimp, lobster and clams but again it came swimming in the same heavy cream the clam appetizer was in but lacking lacking the flavor like appetizer had with pancetta. The bread and honey butter it was served with was a nice touch also had a smoked bourbon martini which was yum. Was a good dining experience not great for the price they need to use less cream and more flavor.

Go to Lake George every year and this is still the best restaurant in town. Labor Day weekend 23 brought 3yr old daughter and we sat outside (like we normally do). Our server Adam was great. And the venison dish was the best meal I’ve had in a long time. It’s not cheap so don’t complain about the cost. A staple for any Bolton/George trip.

So disappointed have had great meals here over the years . Waiter suggested the red snapper both my husband and I ordered no flavor overcooked . 69$ service terrible no cleaning g of the table water glasses never filled. Not sure what happened not the same experience at all.

I was so looking forward to returning to the Chateau on the Lake. This was my 4th visit and was so excited to bring my sister. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. First, the furniture and chairs were garbage worthy. The seat cushions were filthy dirty with stains all over them and the cushions collapsed thru the chair frame. So we changed our chairs with an empty table and the next patron that sat there also moved her chairs to another table. Then Our Dirty Martini’s arrived warm. We had to ask for ice. ICE in a Martini, Really??? Next, the escargot was tasteless. The clams were so Sandy we sent one back. The Truffle Ravioli was also tasteless. Seasoning might have helped, but there was NONE. All in all the meal was a total waste of money. This venue needs some LOVE.

The view was beautiful. Waiter was very good. My husband had the ribeye special with a side lobster tail he loved his meal. I had the pan seared red snapper, it was horrible almost felt like it was cooked in a microwave. I did not complain or send it back.

We had dined at the Chateau previously, and the food was exceptional at that time. Last night, was was such a disappointment, especially as our dinner was to be a special celebration for us. My husband's venison dinner ($45) had a small portion of meat with 3 very hard, & undercooked, carrots. He paid over $10 for a side of truffle mashed potatoes. The venison was tasty and nicely presented, however, the small portion size was disappointing, as were the hard carrots which had little taste. My husband said he was glad he had a steak knife so he could cut the carrots! I ordered the Chef's Cut which was a "boneless" rib eye steak over truffle mashed potatoes. The sauce was delicious over the steak and the potatoes; however, the steak was chewy and had a lot of fat and grizzle. I had filled up my bread plate with that fat/grizzle after eating just half of the steak! I could not eat more of it was awkward to pull chewed pieces of fat out of your mouth in a restaurant. I brought the remaining steak home to see if I could better see it and cut it before chewing it. However, the remaining piece was worse than what I cut at the restaurant. The quality of the steak was poor. And, for $64 that was very disappointing and overpriced for its poor quality. I should have commented last evening, but that is not something I have ever done. But, maybe it would have helped somehow. The desserts and coffees also did not seem to be the same quality as in our previous dining experience there. They were just fair. But, again our previous experience dining at the Chateau was so exceptional that spending a few hundred dollars for two people was acceptable. But, last night the meals and experience were disappointing. Chateau, please return to your usual quality of food and service. You have something special there.

Our annual anniversary celebration and once again, a spectacular evening at The Chateau. We sat on the porch and enjoyed the lake scenery with a muted buzz of happy patrons at the bar behind us. Waitstaff couldn't possibly be more genuine and gracious. Our meals (Chateaubriand, Duck Fettuccini) were excellent. Waitress suggested wine pairings that were terrific. Perfect weather contributed to the wonderful experience.

Lindsay was amazing!! We went with our 4 y/o at 5pm seating and found food for him and the whole family. Crab and oysters on half shell were only things that could be improved on from our perspective. Plastic miniature fork made it difficult to work with crab, and oysters seemed to have been rinsed prior to serving (losing all delicious briny/juice flavor). Everything else was really great and will be back for sure!

Reserved a table for our anniversary and not only did they provide a private table but all staff was very alert that it was our anniversary from the remarks of happy anniversary to the quaint card and decor added to our table. The waiter was most attentive and patient as this was our first visit also very knowledgeable and helpful with questions about the menu items. If you have not been it’s a definite must when in the area or take the short drive.
