My hubby and I were on vacation and had an amazing meal. The food and the service both amazing. The wait staff were friendly and accommodating Manning the experience all the better!
Nice setting. Nice ambience, service - no complaints. Food tasteless and exorbitantly over priced. Calamari appetizer - short glass full of bitter greens with 5 calamari rings. Mushroom ravioli and Bronzino both roughly $45 were virtually tasteless. Chef's cut, New York strip salty with bland truffled mash potatoes.
We had a group of 10 and everything was spectacular. The food was prepared perfectly and everyone enjoyed their meal. From the pickled peach salad to the strip steak and halibut, everything was excellent. The service was incredibly attentive and ambiance was just right. We had the most memorable experience. We are looking forward to our next visit.
How do you rate a restaurant among Top 100 scenic restaurant in United States that has tattered chairs, very poor decor, and unpaved pebble parking lot. Sure the restaurant is located on Lake George, with a not so dramatic view even of the lake. The food was decent but prices were outrageous. Service was excellent though.
Nice touch - complimentary dessert for our anniversary celebration. Food was excellent as always and the hostess, bartender and server were all helpful and represented your establishment well.
Great food. Enjoyed rib eye steak.
Surprising and delicious find while on vacation in Bolton NY (Lake George).
Will return when on our next trip! Yum
Food was terrific. Great wine. Service was spot on. We really enjoyed our dinner. Not sure you can get a finer meal on Lake George.
We went on an early Sunday evening for a special celebration dinner and were not disappointed. The staff was young, energetic and eager to please. The ambience was perfect for a warm summer evening on Lake George and the meal was a pleasant surprise. The mussels appetizer hit all the right notes and the main course was perfectly prepared and presented.
The staff gave us enough space to enjoy our meal and bask in the glow of our celebration. After dinner we walked down to the dock and enjoyed the sunset and breeze on the lake.
We will be back.
Extremely overpriced. The waitress was pushy and kept trying to up-sell us. I got Ravioli which was good but nothing special for $33 - this was even the cheapest entree. I live in Manhattan and could get the same dish or better in tons of nice restaurants for $25 or less. The calamari is very small and I don’t appreciate that they stuff the bottom with lettuce to take up space. If you share an entree they charge you. The one positive I have to say is that the ambiance is very good, and the man assisting us with getting a table was very kind and helpful. Overall a waste of money.
Magical and perfect.
Great dinner, a bit pricey. Nice to have in Bolton Landing. Will go back next year.
Fantastic dining experience. Great service and delicious food. The cheese platter appetizer was delicious. We loved the restaurant design and architecture. It was also nice and cozy to sit by the lake and enjoy the fire after dinner.
We went for my husband's birthday dinner and could not have been happier. Exceptional service, food, wine and view!
Perfect night for four of us.......from Freddy at the bar to all our servers
Great evening, casual Wednesday with live entertainment, enjoyed a few of the items to share and s few cocktails- it was an overall great experience I look forward to another evening at Chateau on the Lake.
The Restaurant was so pretty inside . Done in elegant Romantic feel. Our server was Johnny and he was the nicest guy. He didn’t make us feel rushed at all. We like to have a drink before ordering our meals. His wife works behind the bar and she made us delicious cosmos. The food was amazing . It was our best meal of our vacation. I think it was the best filet and lobster tail we have ever had . Cooked perfect and the cut of meat amazing. It cut so easy . The lobster tail was also Perfect. Sometimes Lobster can be chewy well not this one. The entire experience was a beautiful night out. We sat at the bar after for a glass of wine. Great conversation with Johnny and his wife. Very welcoming relaxed atmosphere. We will be back .
Amazing, great food, service ambiance and drinks
Would def recimmned
Awesome dinner and time spent with friends. The Bonzino and Osso Bucca were fabulous. The music provide by Riley was amazing and added a nice background for dinner. Our server, Jackie was attentive and a pleasure to have as are the other servers (Johnny, Jess and Freddy). Jackie always makes the night special for her guests. Page at the bar is friendly and always willing to make your drink special. Buddy and Jen have a jewel on the lake and worth a visit. I would be remiss if I did not add that Nicole makes the evening run smooth and will always go beyond to make your time special at the Chateau.
Definitely worth the trip and the dinner.
It is always amazing!!
We had an awesome experience from the great outdoor dining, nice live entertainment , great good plus s’mores on the fire pit!! Little pricey but worth every penny!!
Celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary in a beautiful setting that is romantic and made special by a wonderful staff and location. Our server Jackie was excellent and very attentive to us. We capped the night by staying in one of their beautiful beautiful rooms overlooking the lake. We have stayed in many locations and this is at the top of the list. Definitely recommend a night and dinner at the chateau.
Our wedding anniversary
Absolutely amazed by my surprise proposal plan-execution by Nicole and Jackie, with much much thanks and appreciation to Buddy, his wife and sweet daughter Ava. Dinner was impeccable, service was stellar! Thank you a million times!
There are very few times in life when you can honestly say with a straight face that an event or experience was perfect. But that was my experience at the Chateau. What a remarkable restaurant. There is not a detail I would change here, from the phenomenal service, the care and attention of the owners Ed and Jennifer Foy to every detail, the ambiance of the indoor and outdoor spaces, the live music, the décor and so on. We even got to meet the chef and staff later in the evening. What a great bunch!
Dinner was fantastic. From the charcuterie to the main course and wine pairings, you knew the love and care of the chef both as to the fare and its presentation. But the experience did not stop with dinner. We spent hours just hanging out by the fire pit after dinner with people we did not know enjoying a lovely bottle of champagne in the Adirondack chairs and marveling at what the Foys have created.
DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE. It's the kind of experience you don't get very often.
The Chateau was an ideal blend of culinary expertise, extraordinary wine selection and romantic ambiance. It vastly exceeded my expectations. I gave the proprietor some latitude with our wine pairing and was thrilled with the outcome. Their wine list rivals or exceeds our favorite NYC restaurants. I decided on the chef’s cut which was so tender and flavorful that I was actually disappointed when I couldn’t finish the whole serving (the portion sizes are very generous). My husband had the Statler chicken which when paired with a lovely gnocchi was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures — not your “standby” or “ordinary” chicken dish by any stretch of the imagination. Afterwards, we took a bottle of champagne outside to sit by the fire in Adirondack chairs to take in the scenic water views. We wound up spending a whole evening here, rather than just having dinner. This hidden gem is not to be missed.
My dock slip reserved...a great table...super server....good food...world class setting...fire pit wth after dinner drinks. Hello!!!
From beginning to end, it was a fantastic experience! Our waiter Johnny was excellent and the food was perfect, highly recommend! A bit pricey but worth it for special occasion.
Casual Wednesday was a bust. All the food we ordered including oysters and seafood tower was awful. Overpriced pretentious and tasteless. Will not be returning anytime soon.
First it wasn’t that busy - our food took almost an hour to get. It was casual Wednesday, we ordered a Seafood Tower ($75) not worth paying that much - had leftovers to bring home and half the seafood wasn’t even packed in our leftover box. We also ordered flatbread margarita pizza, my son didn’t want tomatoes, waitress was a bit snotty with him regarding that tomatoes are in the sauce, we said yes but we don’t want “tomatoes” on the pizza - pizza arrived with tomatoes. Waitress never asked anyone for refills on their drinks, and was unseen for the majority of our time there. She was asked to bring lemons in the very beginning for our waters, and she never got them, had to ask a 2nd time. So maybe some of this would be ok if they were slammed with people but they were clearly not. Definitely not a place I would be dying to return to. Wish our experience was a better one.
Always a treat here but be prepared to spend some serious cash. My drink was $18 and the $9 cup of soup I had was filled halfway and not a knock out of the park dish. Great ambiance. Service was friendly yet slow.
Great time for a date night
Absolutely perfect! The server, Lana, was very thorough, food fresh and delicious, great job Chef! Ambience very calming and romantic! We will be back! Thank you owner for recommending to checkout the Sagamore after dinner, wow, how gorgeous it was, that is our next destination!
The Chateau on the Lake was a fantastic experience. The food was inventive and the outdoor seating created a very memorable atmosphere.
This restaurant is an awesome find! Just happened to have a Casual Wednesday menu! We got to try several small dishes. There was even a full dinner option! We found the staff very accommodating (just ask). BTW, they had a music soloist. She was excellent!! Totally worth the drive.
No kids INCREDIBLE view food was AMAZING
our server was awesome
Beautiful place. Food was generally very good, except the mussels. You’re paying extra for the venue but it’s still a bit overpriced. Overall a nice experience.
Real real nice. A little pricey but awesome rest food and service and atmosphere Very special
We had a great experience at The Chateau. Food, wine and service were all top notch. After dinner we sat outside and had a drink by the fire pit overlooking the lake.
