Our table of four had a spectacular dinner of venison, rabbit, steelhead and the valley's best steak salad. The Chateau offers a gourmet menu that is worthy of a much larger city has to offer. If you live or are visiting Wenatchee your stay is not complete until you have lunch or dinner at the Chateau.
This restaurant was recommended by some people we met at a local winery. We had a couple appetizers that were very good. Then salads and wine. Also quite good. Love the goat cheese balls in the salad. A couple of us had the seafood risotto. It had a strong smell of seafood which is usually not a very good indication of how fresh the fish is. I probably should have said something to the wait person but I was full by that time. I would recommend this restaurant but probably wouldn't have the seafood again.
This place was recommended to us. Good thing. Fabulous restored building, beautifully decorated for fall. Our server was a vibrant, enthusiastic gal who knew her job. However, I spent the evening observing a young male server texting, showing photos and generally being useless while ours ran her tail off. I'd pink slip him. Wine selection only offerings of the winery products. The only drawback was that they were out of the style I wanted and nothing to replace it. Food was really nicely prepared and presented. Well worth a visit.
This restaurant is in a winery. The food is excellent with a good choice for every taste. The wine list only carries the Chateau Faire le Pont wines. However, there is no mark up for the restaurant. The price you pay is the same as if you were buying the wine to take home, and there is a good variety of wines available. Highly recommend that you finish your meal with the Commander's Reserve Syrah dessert wine.
The tasting bar area was enjoyable with a friendly knowledgeable sommelier. No charge if having wine with dinner was a plus too. The flamingo guitarist was a nice touch in the dining room. The lightning was a bit harsh or too bright although I prefer dim. The deserts were too big and none had a fruit option. The personnel were great.
We've now eaten here twice; the first time just my wife and me, this time with her parents. We had 3 dishes between us: ribeye steak, lamb chops, and scallops. All were delightful. My in-laws enjoyed their first course of French onion soup, calling it the best they'd ever had. My wife had the goat cheese salad, while I had the grilled wedge. Both were delicious. Judging from the bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon we shared, their wines are exceptional. We'll be back. This has to be one of the better restaurants in the Wenatchee area.
Our son Dalton works at the grill, and suggested we come and have dinner for my birthday. I wish I hadn't waited so long! Trish, our server, knows her stuff! Excellent service, and menu knowledge. All of the staff was very pleasant, and hospitable. The food was amazing. Do not leave without trying the chocolate decadence cake!
This was our third time eating at the Chateau Grill, but sadly, not the best. The food was way overseasoned and the portion sizes uneven. One of us got a huge piece of steak, another had a small one. On the bright side, the music entertainment was awesome, so we enjoyed the evening, but declined to take home the (costly) leftovers. Oddly enough, the waitress didn't ask why, just mentioned that the chef was not working that night. A restaurant of their reputation should be consistent.
Our dinner last Friday evening was fantastic! My husband had the lamb and I had the steelhead - an enormous portion served on a cedar plank. Both meals were delicious. To accompany the meal, we selected the 2012 Tempranillo which was especially smoky. The wine was so good that we also purchased a bottle to take home. Additionally, the entertainment was lovely. Charlie is a talented musician and I hope he'll be there the next time we're in Wenatchee.
Atmosphere was great, but the food was a disappointment. After reading other reviews, I was excited to try a restaurant in Wenatchee with good food. Apparently, I need to keep looking. The calamari appetizer was good, but most of our main course dishes were lukewarm and not very flavorful. Oh, the wine was pleasant too. Overall, nowhere near as good as most nicer restaurants in Seattle.
restaurants to eat at in Wenatchee area. There are many good restaurants to choose from but choosing the Chateau won't disappoint . Everything on the menu is good. I like the steak salad for a tasty light lunch followed up with sharing a huge slice of chocolate cake for dessert. An exceptional selection of wines to pair with your food.
A visit is worth both your time and your money.
We just moved to Wenatchee and it is kind of an old town, rough around the edges and not a lot of fine dining. I was so pleasantly surprised by the choices on the menu, quite extensive, and the quality and quantity of the food. The food was obviously made by a gourmet chef, so good! The french onion soup had this marvelous layer of cheese on top, a little crusty,as it should be and the soup was perfect, not too salty as some can be. My husband had Osso Bucco and it was substantial, a large portion and the taste was to die for. I am not a red meat eater but even I could have eaten the whole thing, what flavor! And the dessert! It was fried bread pudding with caramel sauce and ice cream, what an invention! The chef should get and award for that!
Another lunch at Chateau did not disappoint. My husband and I tried something new this time. He ordered the Chicken and Artichoke flatbread. It was amazing and he could not eat it all, so he had it again for lunch the next day. I ordered the Warm Goat Cheese Salad which was also very good. It could have used one extra fried goat cheese nugget as they only give you one and there are so many sweet components of the salad that it needs the salty to set off the sweet. If I order it again, I will order without the balsamic glaze as the creamy basil dressing is also a little sweet. I had a recipe at home I wanted to try which is why I ordered this. The recipe didn't have the basil in the dressing. I made my own version the next day and added fresh garlic and basil to the recipe and I now have a favorite creamy basil dressing thanks to Chateau.
There are so many reasons to dine here.. The staff, the atmosphere, the wine and the food. Ooh, the food. Start with a glass of their wonderful wine and the yumminess just keeps going from there. From the bacon wrapped shrimp to the perfectly cooked steak and out of this world pork osso bucco to the died and gone to heaven carrot cake, you will not be disappointed . Will come back again and again and again. A truly first class dining experience.
The wait staff was down one server, but the level of service did not suffer. Our waitress, Trish, was extremely professional. The music by Charlie Solbrig was perfect blend of pop and soul, and he plays killer flamenco guitar!
The food was outstanding, as was the wine selection. We had a great time!
Was in Wenatchee for a convention & had dinner one evening here with a friend. Our only regret was that we were too stuffed to have dessert. Food & service were both great. We started with a wine tasting before dinner. For appetizers, I had the bacon wrapped scallops -- simply wonderful; perfectly cooked & delicious. My friend had the bacon wrapped shrimp; she said they were very good too (but too spicey for me). For entree, I had the medallions in a wine/chocolate sauce; different & unique and very, very good. They were served with garlic mashed & seasonal vegies. My friend had the seafood mac & cheese -- I got one bite & can attest that it too was very, very good. Both meals came with salads too. Reservations recommended.
We encountered a glitch when booking through open table, as the hostess seemed to have no information about our reservation. When I let her know that they might want to check because it has showed availability all evening (she said they had been booked full for a week in advance) she seemed annoyed. They did get us in, which was nice as we were with my 96 year old father-in-law, but it did take 15 min or so. This being a winery, the wine choices were very nice, although the woman pouring did not seem friendly.
Once seated, the service greatly improved. I had salmon, which was perfectly cooked. A nice surprise, as most restaurants seem to err on the overcooked side.
