Overlooking the historic Ludford bridge, just a few minutes walk from the town centre of Ludlow, the Charlton Arms is the epitome of a charming Pub. The kitchen, headed up by Krizstian Balogh, focusses on great British food and features a wealth of local produce. Fantastic pub classics feature strongly alongside accomplished dishes. Real Ales and local Ciders sit proudly amidst the eclectic selection of wines to suit every budget. To make the most of a visit to the Charlton, there are nine comfortable en-suite bedrooms. The breakfast menu, from Clun Valley Eggs, locally cured bacon and Ludlows' famed sausages to the finest smoked salmon has something for everyone. Independently run by Cedric and Amy Bosi, a warm welcome is guaranteed. Children are welcome and are provided with a children's menu. For the dog lovers amongst you, well behaved dogs are allowed in, and with the beautiful walks around Ludlow and its Whitcliffe Common, muddy boots are always a feature of the pub!

Visited for Mother’s Day Sunday lunch. Food was amazing cooked to perfection. Staff were friendly, welcoming and service was excellent. Have visited many times and will be back again soon for another Sunday lunch!

Always an excellent welcome. Staff are friendly and helpful without being overpowering. Warm, inviting restaurant with plenty of space between tables for privacy. The food was excellent. The menu is varied and the food well cooked.

The rack of lamb was served with 3cm of string on it. There was one portion of lamb left when I ordered so it was very popular but I didn't find it overly tasty and the mint sauce wasn't tart enough. Other than that, the roast potatoes and veg were very nice as was the dessert. I didn't find the experience a particularly 'warm' one.

A pleasant experience. Starters were interesting and imaginative. Mains were either fairly standard pub fare (burger, fish and chips or steak) or expensive more creative options. Nothing in between. But overall tasty and enjoyable. Eagerness to clean tables (with foul smelling bleach spray) ready for breakfast made us feel pressured to leave and was off putting.

The menu choice had something for everyone. Our meal was absolutely delicious, and was served in an efficient but very friendly way. We were in the large dining room looking out over the river, but because of the size of the room it lacked a little ambience. However that mustn’t detract from the fabulous food. We will definitely return

Had a lovely Sunday Lunch. We all had the sunday roast which was great. Our grandaughter loved the yorkshire pudding which was huge. The service was excellent, nothing too much trouble and all the staff we very friendly. Will definitely be back, maybe in the summer instead of a rainy Sunday.

The food and service was very good, the noise level was quiet high due to a large group of adults and several children. Whilst we were eating two tables asked to be moved. Not the restaurants fault but maybe they could of mentioned something discreetly.

Some very interesting menu choices with a range of prices to suit different budgets. We had a range of different menu choices and all were very good especially the Fish Soup, the vegetarian option, the chicken dish and the lemon meringue. The service was relaxed, friendly, and unobtrusive. Also it’s great to be eating good food and enjoying quality real ales at the same time.

Went on new years eve for an early evening meal. A varied and interesting menu. The starter of spinach soufflé was outstanding and my main course of chicken brevette and gnocchi also excellent. My husband had the rib of beef which again was perfect. My compliments to the chef and also a good in-house team. I highly recommend a visit Julie Siddons

The food was delicious!!! We had the Chicken pate (best pate we have eaten), the Ravioli truffle was outstanding and the Welch rack of lamb cooked medium rare was juicy, tender & full of flavour. Dessert: sticky pudding with Vanilla ice-cream. It was a perfect choice to end the night! Service was efficient and friendly.
