The Charcoal Room - Palace Station Hotel & Casino
The Charcoal Room features great steaks, fresh fish and daily special selections along with a superb wine list in the heart of Las Vegas. Our bar offers complete dinner service along with fine beverage selections.
iT WAS A VERY STERILE AND QUIET RESTAURANT........DID NOT FEEL LIKE HOME OR THAT HOMEY TOUCH........THE SHRIMP COCKTAIL WAS GOOD AND WE BOTH ATE THAT...MY VEGGIES WERE BURNT TO A CRISP AND CAN'T REMEMBER THE NAME OF THEM.....THE STEAK HAD NO TASTE AT ALL AND WE BOTH WERE ILL THE NEXT DAY BUT I WAS ILL AFTER EATING THE MEAL IMMEDIATELY AFTER....WILL NOT VISIT THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN..........SORRY
We had 7 PM reservations and the restaurant was not packed! We were met and seated with pleasant staff. It took 11minutes for our waiter to ask for our drink order and recommended we put in our meal order quickly because the kitchen was getting backed up. We did so but asked not to be rushed. Needless to say, everything came out quickly. We had barely sipped our drinks and our salads arrived and before we were half done our entrees were in front of us! We go here for a quiet date night several times a year and probably won’t be back! Waiter never apologized nor acknowledged and of the lapses. Sad, they must not enough staff but there were 2 managers walking around seeming very busy in conversation!
Good food, steak was amazing!
Always good food and service in this attractive room. Sadly, the newly renovated Palace Station doesn't offer anything comparable in its other restaurants: the Boathouse has a strange menu and high prices for what looks like just another sports bar, and the very stylish new Feast served up a buffet that was pretty inedible when we tried it--my friend was given a slim slice of turkey and then a huge wodge of a leathery heel end of the roast, which could not even be cut through; the "vegetable shepherd's pie" was a blob of mashed potatoes on top of what was mostly watery canned mushroom slices; there were too few vegetables and just a bunch of hard rolls (no more biscuits or cornbread); russet potato halves topped with a glob of congealing sour cream were labeled "sweet potatoes;" and every "hot" dish was barely tepid. The Oyster Bar is still good, I suppose--it has been a few years since I've gone, as there is always a line of about 30 people for the 12-16 seat bar. They should have put in an Oyster Bar with tables where the grim Boathouse is. Station Hotel restaurants are an old person's idea of young people want to eat. Stick to the Charcoal Room--it may cost more, but it's good value.
Always our go to place for special occasions or out of town guest.
Definite recommend. Quiet (love that) with exceptional service.
Excellent food and service. The filet and creamed spinach were great!
Everything was wonderful.... the meal was cooked to our order. The service was outstanding.
The food and service were wonderful, but the noise level was off the charts--it hurt our ears!
Food was excellent but server was inept. He screwed up our order which resulted in a delay in being served. After the meal he gave us the wrong check. Manager compensated us with a free meal for one person in our party as well as one free desert.
Awesome restaurant, great food with outstanding service.
It is one of the better steak houses in Las Vegas. We have been going there for years. I highly recommend it for a dinner party or for a dinner for two.
Great food. Salmon was cooked perfectly.
Rib -eye steak juicy & sauce was tasty.
Desserts are large but not a highlight!
That was the BEST steakhouse I've had the pleasure of visiting. Everything we ordered was perfect and everyone had something different. Only thing was the Mac and cheese was a little TOO Al dente but besides that, I will be back REAL SOON! And our waiter Joseph was a joy to have! DEfinitely will be back!
Our party of four had another lovely dinner in the Charcoal Room. We all started with their delicious Caesar Salad. And we all had the Filet Mignon; it was very high quality and great tasting with practically no waste. Our waiter was very attentive and professional. We will certainly return for other dinners here.
Service was very very slow. Food was warm, therefor you need more service in the kitchen.
It was our 21st wedding anniversary, food and service was excellent however the dessert (mixed fruit cobbler with vanilla ice cream) was mediocre part of the cobbler was hard as a rock we alerted the server and she took it off
All in all we WOULD eat here again
Loved everything about the restaurant and bar. Delicious food.
I had the pleasure of dining with 12 clients at the Charcoal Room. My clients appreciated the food/service and the overall experience. I would consider the Charcoal Room for client dinners etc. I will be back.
I had the valentine's day menú . Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The service was excellent. My only disappointment was the strawberry short cake, I was expecting fresh strawberry and got canned ones instead.
We loved the Charcoal Room at Palace Station. Patty had the King Crab and I had the Scallops. We also ordered the Brussell Sprouts and Loaded baked potato, which we shared. Katie was our server and she did extremely well. We did not drink except for water with no lemon.
I do not understand how I almost always get seated in the least desirable table! That alone lowered my rating. The restaurant was not busy, yet we got seated at a table which backed up to the bar and a DOOR! This door was used by employees for what I am not sure. It was shut hard and loud, and it looked into employee space which had lockers and other employees lingering around. Not a great design idea.
The food was good, but my rib eye seemed a bit overly fatty - but was cooked perfectly. The sides seemed a little small, which was probably okay considering the amount of food. The taste was eh. They didn't knock my socks off.
I have been to other Station steakhouses, and personally, T-Bones is my favorite.
Two pluses are, inside the restaurant you didn't hear any of the casino noise, but could see it, and the waiter and other staff were great and amazing!
Our service was outstanding! Thank you, Doug for the excellent service! We will definitely return.
Food was great. Service great. Only thing I didn’t like was the corkage fee. The last time I was there it was $25. I brought 2 bottles of wine and was charged $70.
The food at the Charcoal Room is consistently delicious. The manager greeted us when we arrived and checked on us later. You can tell the Chef and servers take a lot of pride in what they’re doing. We will be back next year for sure!
Nice place food average! Service was fine I recommend this place very quite.
We have been to this venue any time we are in Vegas. We tend to come here three four times a year
The food is fantastic always prepared the way asked. The service staff is professional and informative the bus persons water and clean up are right there when needed..The decor is modern contemporary and very nice. The hostess is always friendly and professional. The manager has always at some time in the meal will come by to see how everything is. I always say "Terrible" to get a reaction but he or she knows that I like to joke a lot. I have always had the filet Mignon with a side of whatever my fancy at the time . I have never had a meal that was not excellent in taste and appearance . The salads are great and soups are superb and all of the sides are fantastic.
I would recommend this steakhouse to anyone that wants to have a great time with great food and service and a great value for the dollar.
Had a coupon so decided to try it. The food and service were both excellent but with all items being a la carte it's a bit pricey for what you get. We both ordered filet mignon and they were cooked exactly as ordered. You can save a little money by splitting a salad which is definitely large enough for two, and also by splitting some of the side dishes and I will use asparagus as an example.
Very awesome prime rib, bread was unique and delicious, as well as the side dish potato. Terrific service and attentive waiter. Would absolutely go back!
It was fine, a decent deal for steak and seafood. The food itself was just ok but a reasonable place to stop by and eat if you’re at Palace Station.
I had some people from out of town come celebrate New Year’s. We waited 15 minutes to be greeted and served water. Then when we finally did see our server he was flustered and expressed that this was too much for him. Food was served cold and they mixed up or steaks With another table. The only positive thing out of this experience was the manager Patrick did his best to make it up to us by taking our drinks off the bill, giving us a free cake and a percentage off. Even though the experience was terrible I appreciate the management making it up to us. I don’t feel that I am using the excuse that it’s a busy holiday is acceptable. They should’ve been better prepared for the holiday.
a step below flemmings. Better than the golden steer!
Great sevice, perfectly cooked steaks, and great atmosphere. Reasonable prices for high end food.
New Year’s Eve dinner most of the party had the dinner special it was excellent. Service was perfect also. Never felt rushed
Food and service was wonderful. We will be back.
Not seasoned very well
Dined here or our 14 year olds birthday. Great Value. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Wife said Oyster appetizer might have been the best she has ever had. Steaks were tasty. Chocolate cake was very good.
Dover Sole was a little dry.
Our server Joseph was the highlight of the night.
Our group of four all ordered the steak and lobster special and we were very happy with our choice. The food was delicious and the steak was very high quality with no waste. The service was very professional and attentive. It was a very enjoyable experience.
The food was exceptional and the service, excellent. Luis, the server was superb. Patrick the manager, came by numerous times to check on us and asked if us were taken care off. We had a birthday in the party and the complimentary birthday dessert was wonderful, moist chocolate cake with all the trimmings big enough for the whole table was presented and happy birthday was sang along with the crew. Thank you, The Charcoal Room.
Dark and old school setting. Almost expect to see mob bosses show up. Good food. Crime brûlée was a little runny and not much crust.
