The Cellar: Tapas, Beer, Wine
This was my second trip to The Cellar. The first time the food was great and had a lasting memory; however the menu was drastically different with too much of an Asian influence. Not what I was expecting.
Overpriced , Overpriced , Overpriced
What can I say
It was wonderful although we were early so by the time we left it was getting noisy. Otherwise, everything was awesome!
Food was outstanding. Paella is our fave.
Server Griffin was excellent.
Will be back soon!
The tapas are always delicious and the service is very good. It is a loud venue. Can't wait to see if they will be able to open a patio in the future!
Came here before the theatre with our daughter and son in law. Wonderful food, ambience, and service! Love it!
The food trumps any consideration; a fusion of mostly Spanish tapas with NM echoes. The menu includes seafood as well as lamb and beef. This time tried lamb wraps...a surprising amount of excellent lamb. Had the fried avocados yet again. Excellent as usual. Tried the grilled poblano Chile with Mancheco sauce...Had a slight kick too. My wife oohed and ahed over the tiger shrimp.
Service was excellent; We ordered in shifts, so there was plenty of time to enjoy each dish as it came out to us. One of our go-to places when we want a taste of food we would not/could not prepare for ourselves.
Be aware, though. This is not a cheap-eats joint. I would suggest it in the mid-range or more, depending on the number of tapas ordered.
A dark atmosphere, and small, so the service is good but haard to have a quiet tet a tet.
Once again, the Cellar provides a warm, welcoming environment within which to gather friends and family to feast on tapas and wine, celebrating any occasion. We love bringing out of town guests here to show off a local favorite place for a savory meal. The ingredients are always fresh, and there are many vegetarian choices on the menu. A real crowd pleasing destination for food and fun.
Food was great. Service was great . Restaurant is very small and so it's very loud not relaxing. Would be great for large group setting
Thomas provided amazing service and was so kind to us. Made my wife’s birthday very special.
Keeps getting better, they do amazing and delicious things with peppers. Excellent service!
very surprising tapas in Albuquerque. Liked the mix of traditional and New Mexico tapas
Nice place. Good food
We had dinner on a Wednesday night to celebrate my husband ‘s birthday—the Cellar was an excellent experience! The service was outstanding—we could not have asked for a sweeter, more knowledgeable and caring server— she was top notch! The food was delicious and memorable and the presentation was lovely. We were given a birthday dessert to share —exquisite! We will definitely return because of the wonderful experience we had.
Had a great waiter and the food was delicious though a little pricey for what it was. I did have to wait 30 minutes for my table that I had reserved but I would definitely eat here again.
What a lovely evening. The ambiance was inviting, cozy and comfortable. The menu was interesting and the food delicious. Best service I've enjoyed in some time. Thank you!
Great time, great foods.
Chairs are hard for extended time, need padding for comfort.
my 3rd visit and didn't go very well. Extremely hot in the restaurant, Server was bother some and didn't acknowledge my request for a bigger table, It was not busy. I'm not going back!
Can't recommend until AC works better. Good good. Service fantastic.
Great setting for a date night. The food was good and the service was even better.
Great place, would like to see some cushions on the chairs. They are metal and not very comfortable.
I love The Cellar and have been a fan since they opened. If you've never had tapas then I highly recommend The Cellar. The tapas are perfect for two people to share but small enough that you can get four or five of them to taste. On our last visit, the timing was perfect - one dish would come out, we'd eat it then wait a few minutes before another one came out.
All around one of the best dining experiences in Albuquerque. From food to service, I can't find
fault with anything. If you want Tapas or Paella, you can't beat this restaurant.
This is a great restaurant with terrific service from well informed staff, the food is outstanding, but the noise is terrible. Granted I am a senior, but it is too loud to have a decent conversation with enjoying the good food.
I am consistently pleased with my experience at The Cellar. Both the tapas and paella are excellent. They regularly change their menu as well, which means that there is always something new to try!
Recommendations: seafood paella with chorizo, sweet peppers stuffed with goat cheese, red wine flight
Great place to have tapas. We went there for our wedding anniversary. Great Atmosphere!
excellent quality of food but over priced. Very small seating area. No privacy or romance. Had to yell across the table.
We had a nice time at a birthday dinner at the Cellar. The dishes were good but not particularly inventive. Also thought it was pricey for what you get. Great atmosphere though, nice wine list, excellent service.
Did not like the paella, needs more sauce and better rice.
My friends and I were there recently. We’ve dined there several times and always enjoyed it. We were assigned a table for two even though there were three of us. The Manager or owner, not sure which, was apparently observing. He came out and immediately moved us and had a conversation with the staff. This made our dining experience much more enjoyable. This is the kind of service customers appreciate. We will continue to frequent The Cellar and will recommend it to our friends.
The food is always good and unique. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Not at all cheap, but the food supersedes price. The tapas blend Spanish with haute cuisine, from paella to fried avocado to lamb chops and lamb wraps to more traditional Spanish tapas. The wine list is good as is the beer on tap-list.
WQe had not been there for quite a while, but our server recognized us and made us feel welcome; and visitors to the city were welcomed with smiles and good service as well.
Strongly recommend The Cellar; it looks like a cellar inside but produces some of the best food I have had in Albuquerque.
Overpriced. I don’t mind paying for quality, but food is average to below average.
Was very disappointed, had a reservation at 5. When I arrived the parking lot was empty and there was a close sign on the door. So I left was really disappointed and wanted to see if this was something temporary checked online nothing about being closed, called the restaurant and the man that answered says they're open, I asked about the close sign, " I dunno were open come on in", no apology nothing evening plans were ruined because this mistake.
Food was subpar. We got cold food. For the price, food is not good enough.
Fantastic ambiance food and drink. A wonderful departure from the chains and local chai. Restaurants around town. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and we're very pleased.
Delicious food and intimate ambiance for two or a group. Definitely going back.
The restaurant was busy when we arrived and the noise level was louder than I remembered. We ordered five tapas variations, one of which was out. The first three came out in short order, but the fourth was held up due to that station being delayed. All of the food was very good, but the flow of food and the delay in the middle of the entrees resulted in what would have been an exceptional to merely very good.
Wonderful food, lots of choices Friendly, helpful staff. I always enjoy eating here.
