Food and Service was excellent. There was some sort of party that took over one entire side which made dining on the other side quite noisy. But overall we had a really nice evening. We would definitely recommend.
Reserved a table a week in advance, showed up for the reservation & they didn’t have a table reserved for us. They told us there was a “malfunction” in the system. Meanwhile the couple behind us at the host station was seated at their table immediately. They asked us if we wanted to sit at the bar or outside, which they should have known would be a stupid question since I made a reservation. I had planned this to be a special date night evening with my girlfriend & it was pretty embarrassing. Good thing I wasn’t planning on proposing.
We were called an hour before reservation time and told they had two large parties and there wasn’t a table for us. We were offered a table in the bay where live music would start at 8. Our reservation was 6:30. The band was warming up when we arrived. The music started at 7. It was very loud and definitely not what we booked. We made a 45 minute drive. The new manager was nice but said there was nothing she could do. Would not go again unless seated inside.
Nice place we come to on special occasions. The chef does a very nice job w flavor combinations.
We think he is especially skilled with pork..the pork dishes really shine.
We appreciate the dinner rolls. Soups, salads, and burgers seem a little pricey for what they are.
An employee with halogen headlights on idled outside the window of our table for a long time.
Celebrated my 40th birthday and the service was great! The food was excellent as well. Highly recommend
Great food but food was a tad slow since the lack of staffing. Food was great taste and quality.
The salmon and pork tenderloin were both fantastic!!
Food was good and would come again.
Delicious but I’d prefer the shrimp tails to be taken off before being plated. I also prefer my shrimp blackened or at least pan fried with a crisp exterior but soft and buttery interior. Everything kind of had the same texture.
Same with the catfish. The grits and the catfish had the same texture so it ended up eating like mush on mush but the flavor was excellent. The catfish eaten on its own with the collards was delicious, buttery and melt in your mouth.
The grits were superb. I would order a side of them on their own.
Horrible experience. Waited 30 just to be greeted at our table, no water, no drinks.
We had a wonderful dinner on Friday. Our waiter was hosting, waiting tables, and bartending and still gave us excellent service! The food was delicious and so was the wine!
The Cellar has always been a great place to go for a fantastic steak. Hopefully once we get past the pandemic a little further they get get their quality steaks back on the menu. It was a good dining experience.
The Cellar was fantastic. We were sat before our reservation and received our excellent food quickly. I would definitely recommend the catfish!
Very nice night with friends
I have eaten at the Cellar before but not since the pandemic. We brought friends with us this time and we all enjoyed our meals and drinks! The service was great as was the ambience. We will definitely be back soon!
The kids working here messed up everything from our order to the bill to even the to go boxes....food that was brought to the table was good tho it just wasn’t our tables food
This was our first visit. Restaurant seemed short staffed. The bartender appeared to be the only person making drinks and serving tables. I ordered the mahi special which was over cooked. My husband enjoyed his bison burger but the sides (Mac and cheese and fries) were just ok. At this price point I expect a little more. Not sure we’ll return.
Fantastic food. Good music from 5 to 7:00. Great atmosphere.
Don’t waste your time. They need to close down the restaurant and properly train staff. There is no reason why the menus are not updated and it shroud not take 30 mins to get a glass of wine.
The taste of the food was good however it was all like warm.
Many times during our dinner we asked to speak to the manager but there wasn’t one available.
Food and drinks are always great. Service was a bit slow bit seemed like they were understaffed.
The atmosphere was amazing. The service was incredible. I love using the open table app to do my reservation and we were seated right away. Management was very attentive when my husband's steak was over cooked. The live piano music added mote elegance to the dining experience. Highly recommend for local dining
Everything was exceptional from skilled, pleasant server to all courses from appetizer to entree and sides to dessert.
Our waitress, Elizabeth, was very cordial, friendly and professional. Every time she approached our table she did it with a smile and was extremely polite, as was everyone working there. We had a great time and will not be so hesitant to come back. We had been here twice before and had not had much luck the prior times, but this time was different and it was refreshing to see positive change.
The Cellar is a local gem which has generously been supporting the Newnan tornado relief. We had a fantastic meal & a lovely evening.
Perfect place to enjoy a meal and cocktail on a spring afternoon!
Very good steak. Great service
The food and service was excellent. Prices for beef are a bit steep. Love their sauces etc. delicious food.
Pricing for this establishment is a bit high for the quality of service given. Longer than one hour wait time for food. Rolls were dry and hard. Craft beer was great. Wild boar burger tasted good with just the right amount of game flavor. Host and waiter were kind and courteous.
It was a little loud in the dining room, and it wasn’t even full, but other than that, the evening was outstanding. I was late for my reservation because I got stuck behind a car accident, but the staff was understanding and held my table. The fillet was amazing.
Delicious food. The owner walked around to check on everyone’s meal. A classy place with great service.
I have been to The Cellar multiple times over its history and I was extremely disappointed in this visit. The service and food have definitely taken a hit.
We had a reservation for 7, and the restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived. A couple at the bar, and one or two tables seated. It took 7 minutes before our first interaction with a waitress to even acknowledge we were there while we watched two other tables be seated and drink orders taken. The drink was flat, and my date waited 12 minutes for an $8 poured beer from a can while we watched a group of 4 come in after the order was placed and get served at the bar.
We ordered a set of appetizers and waited around 15-20 minutes for Fried Green Tomatoes and Fried Pickles. I’m not sure when they changed it, but both used to be much better. Both plates were unbalanced in flavor. The tomatoes needed a cream based sauce to balance out the acid instead of a flat flavored relish, and same with the pickles. They were bland, didn’t pickle long enough, and were served with a sharp acidic honey mustard. The pickle itself had no seasoning to the batter and no flavor.
We both ordered a fish. Salmon and Catfish. The salmon was dry and overly salted. It came out looking like it had been twice baked and left to sit out. The catfish was mush and had no seasoning on it. The grits were dried out and stale to taste. The best part of that meal was the lemon caper sauce for the salmon and risotto.
The check came to $80 for two meals I could have made better and faster. It was disappointing. Very bland. Over cooked, and just poor service for the price and experience.
The wine pairing was spot on. The cheese tray appetiser reminded me something from in Italy. The chicken rosato was delicious. The house steak was flavorless and a little tough. The waiter had a difficult time explaining certain dishes and he explained different specials to different tables.
Great spot overall. Food was good but not great. I would go there again.
Bad First Impression!!!!
This was the first time trying The Cellar. Our reservation was at 730 and we arrived on time and was told to wait at in the lounge. Decided to have drinks while we waited. Waited almost 20 minutes before someone took our drink order (there were 2 bartenders working). Finally got our drinks ordered at the same time our table was ready. Service was extremely slow. Appetizer was great but both of our steaks were under cooked. Steaks were good but not worth $40 each; had better at Longhorns which is not saying much. For the cost of the dinner (2 people=$158) we expected a far better experience. Save yourself the time and money and eat dinner somewhere else and then come to The Bays afterwards.
Everyone enjoyed their food and our server was wonderful!
Great place for a special night. Great ambiance, excellent food. Get the Lobster Bisque! Highly recommend this place.
It’s a small spot with not many seats so I can see why you have to reserve a spot. It’s ambience is nice on the nights they have the pianist there, the service is fast and doesn’t leave you hanging to dry, and the food is very good. I enjoyed this as a Valentines Day date spot, and I now know this is a place me and my wife can go whenever we need an adult date restaurant.
Everything was good except my steak was a little tough
Excellent as always the best steak in town.
I went in with low expectations, but it was legitimately one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. I had a Valentines Day special. The pork chop was definitely the best I’ve ever had. Paired with sweet potato au gratin that I devoured even though I don’t typically like au gratin. We had a few craft cocktails and they were all great.
