It was a very nice evening. The staff was very friendly. The pace was just right. Apps/kids food first. Apps were delicious. I got the lobster bisque. We shared the cheese platter, seared tuna and fried mushrooms. Most everyone got the shrimp and grits and all loved it. I had the crab crusted salmon over the lemon risotto. It was excellent. We would definitely go back.

Table for 2 on thanksgiving. We arrived and were shown to our table right away. Water was waiting for us and cocktail order was taken right away! The food was served family style and was plentiful and delicious. We will go back for Christmas dinner.

We went here for Thanksgiving. Overall, the food was good but with a few hiccups. The meal was served family style (didn’t know that when booked) and instead of giving every person a salad, they put 2 down to be shared by 3 or 4 people. The odd thing was each salad bowl was really for 1 person so we felt a little shortchanged. A couple of food items were barely warm and the Mac n cheese was way over cooked. However, the service was excellent and once we got the entrees we discovered you could ask for refills…which was a good thing because the initial serving of ham was 3 1/2 very small pieces of ham. Where the restaurant really shined was making one of the side dishes gluten free for the member of our party who has celiac disease. That was much appreciated and the others at the table thought it tasted better than the gluten version.
Because of the number of reservations, we ended up in the “Bays” area of the restaurant which was drafty and a little cold. We would have rather been able to book in the Cellars main dining area. While I appreciated the fact they were open on Thanksgiving, I probably wouldn’t go back there for a Thanksgiving meal due to the issues above.

The Thanksgiving meal was above our expectations, the turkey was so moist and we definitely did not leave hungry. We will absolutely be back.

Since Covid, the menu is substantially limited and lacks imagination really.
We were there to celebrate a birthday. Rather than offer something as a free birthday dessert, they gave my husband a card for a free dessert on his next visit?

He liked the shrimp and grits….my pasta dish lacked flavor ….very bland. I asked for Parmesan cheese and that helped some but not enough.

My glass of wine was 12.00 and there was no wine price on the menu listing.
It was an okay wine, but way over priced .
We had a drink before dinner at the Bays next door…..two drinks there…a mimosa and an IPA….with tip….over 20.00
Looks like this is not how we remembered ….probably NOT going to go back…even to use the feee dessert card!

Birthday. Great music from Janine!!
Be careful of this restaurant. They will take your booking but then deny you points if you don’t sit in their main dining area. We went to hear our friend play guitar on my birthday. We sat in the Bays area. We ordered from the dining room menu and spent over $300 and then they reported us as a no show!! They try to get you to cancel the open table reservation. Don’t! Just appeal to Open table after fact and get your points.

Food and Service was excellent. There was some sort of party that took over one entire side which made dining on the other side quite noisy. But overall we had a really nice evening. We would definitely recommend.

We were seated at a table beside the door, so it was loud and breezy. However, we didn’t ask to be moved since it was just the two of us. The food was delicious, especially the lemon risotto.

Reserved a table a week in advance, showed up for the reservation & they didn’t have a table reserved for us. They told us there was a “malfunction” in the system. Meanwhile the couple behind us at the host station was seated at their table immediately. They asked us if we wanted to sit at the bar or outside, which they should have known would be a stupid question since I made a reservation. I had planned this to be a special date night evening with my girlfriend & it was pretty embarrassing. Good thing I wasn’t planning on proposing.

We were called an hour before reservation time and told they had two large parties and there wasn’t a table for us. We were offered a table in the bay where live music would start at 8. Our reservation was 6:30. The band was warming up when we arrived. The music started at 7. It was very loud and definitely not what we booked. We made a 45 minute drive. The new manager was nice but said there was nothing she could do. Would not go again unless seated inside.

Nice place we come to on special occasions. The chef does a very nice job w flavor combinations.

We think he is especially skilled with pork..the pork dishes really shine.

We appreciate the dinner rolls. Soups, salads, and burgers seem a little pricey for what they are.

An employee with halogen headlights on idled outside the window of our table for a long time.

Delicious but I’d prefer the shrimp tails to be taken off before being plated. I also prefer my shrimp blackened or at least pan fried with a crisp exterior but soft and buttery interior. Everything kind of had the same texture.
Same with the catfish. The grits and the catfish had the same texture so it ended up eating like mush on mush but the flavor was excellent. The catfish eaten on its own with the collards was delicious, buttery and melt in your mouth.
The grits were superb. I would order a side of them on their own.

The Cellar has always been a great place to go for a fantastic steak. Hopefully once we get past the pandemic a little further they get get their quality steaks back on the menu. It was a good dining experience.

This was our first visit. Restaurant seemed short staffed. The bartender appeared to be the only person making drinks and serving tables. I ordered the mahi special which was over cooked. My husband enjoyed his bison burger but the sides (Mac and cheese and fries) were just ok. At this price point I expect a little more. Not sure we’ll return.

Don’t waste your time. They need to close down the restaurant and properly train staff. There is no reason why the menus are not updated and it shroud not take 30 mins to get a glass of wine.

The taste of the food was good however it was all like warm.

Many times during our dinner we asked to speak to the manager but there wasn’t one available.

Very disappointed

Our waitress, Elizabeth, was very cordial, friendly and professional. Every time she approached our table she did it with a smile and was extremely polite, as was everyone working there. We had a great time and will not be so hesitant to come back. We had been here twice before and had not had much luck the prior times, but this time was different and it was refreshing to see positive change.

Pricing for this establishment is a bit high for the quality of service given. Longer than one hour wait time for food. Rolls were dry and hard. Craft beer was great. Wild boar burger tasted good with just the right amount of game flavor. Host and waiter were kind and courteous.

It was a little loud in the dining room, and it wasn’t even full, but other than that, the evening was outstanding. I was late for my reservation because I got stuck behind a car accident, but the staff was understanding and held my table. The fillet was amazing.

I have been to The Cellar multiple times over its history and I was extremely disappointed in this visit. The service and food have definitely taken a hit.

We had a reservation for 7, and the restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived. A couple at the bar, and one or two tables seated. It took 7 minutes before our first interaction with a waitress to even acknowledge we were there while we watched two other tables be seated and drink orders taken. The drink was flat, and my date waited 12 minutes for an $8 poured beer from a can while we watched a group of 4 come in after the order was placed and get served at the bar.

We ordered a set of appetizers and waited around 15-20 minutes for Fried Green Tomatoes and Fried Pickles. I’m not sure when they changed it, but both used to be much better. Both plates were unbalanced in flavor. The tomatoes needed a cream based sauce to balance out the acid instead of a flat flavored relish, and same with the pickles. They were bland, didn’t pickle long enough, and were served with a sharp acidic honey mustard. The pickle itself had no seasoning to the batter and no flavor.

We both ordered a fish. Salmon and Catfish. The salmon was dry and overly salted. It came out looking like it had been twice baked and left to sit out. The catfish was mush and had no seasoning on it. The grits were dried out and stale to taste. The best part of that meal was the lemon caper sauce for the salmon and risotto.

The check came to $80 for two meals I could have made better and faster. It was disappointing. Very bland. Over cooked, and just poor service for the price and experience.
