The food selection was varied and tasty. The service was spot on! Our server was Kimberly T. She was attentive without being suffocating. Overall an enjoyable Mother’s Day dinner! We will definitely return.
Have eaten at the Cellar for an evening meal and had a great experience. Not the same experience this time. Mother's Day lunch was not well thought out. Set menu with meals served family style provided more plates than the table could hold. Made for a crowded table of 6 . Wait staff worked hard however some of the food was cold and other items were under cooked. They should rethink this format for the future. When you visit the Cellar you expect more of an upscale experience. Not worth the $35 per head for Mother's Day lunch to eat food that was not even to the level of Cracker Barrel.
I usually don’t believe in 5 stars but every aspect of this experience was great.
On Mom’s Day the food was a perfect take Southern w/o over seasoning
Service was just right...dishes were cleared and new drinks replaced immediately and without asking
Ambiance is great and diverse the main dining area is what I like to call a mature bohemian chic, the second dining area carries the theme to a converted garage that can be closed on rainy days but is ideal for the sunny days. The third dining area is off the garage with umbrellas to block the sun and multiple fans to beat the heat. I brought my mom there for Mother’s Day and we loved it! She insists that we make it a regular venue. But this place is much more than a spot to bring your mother. It’s also perfect for special occasions, guys/gal’s night, catching the game, live music, or that regular place that everybody knows your name!
I took my wife here for date night. The food is excellent, hands down some of the best food in the county.
Our waiter was excellent and guided us to some wonderful choices. However the restaurant was very understaffed. We had to wait a very long time to receive our food, drinks, condiments, etc. We watched the table next to us get ignored for 20 minutes until the left.
Our waiter was making drinks, waiting tables, and generally doing everything possible to keep up. All while a waitress (blue streak in her hair) told everyone she was converting to Buddhism and had an “allergy” to dairy. I have no idea how those topics even come up when she was the one that neglected the table of people that left.
The food was so good I might return again, depending on my patience for understaffed establishments.
We brought our Son here for dinner. He was visiting us from out of town. Our first experience was excellent. This experience was less than that. Mine and my husbands meal was very good. Our sons was not. He ordered the Elk Burger, well done. It came to the table looking like a burnt hockey puck! Service was less than perfect. We were one of two tables seated. We ate at 5:30. They brought the wrong appetizer out, forgot the dressing on the side for the side salad, had a lot of difficulty remembering to refill our drinks without us asking. At the end of our meal they brought us the wrong check. Once again we were one of two seated inside.
Outside has a great area, very relaxed and welcoming. Fun and casual. Would be a great place to grab a drink and hang out with friends.
The food was wonderful. The service was disappointing. Several times the waitress filled 2 glasses with the wrong drink. Even after brought to her attention. And had to wait a long time for refills on drinks. We didn’t receive one of the sides that we ordered.
The food was awesome. The noise level was minimum, which was good.
Reserved for 3. Quick seats. Slow setvice. Waited 1 hour for food. Inquired with sever and trainee about ETA on food. 15 more minutes. We decided to leave. Server became rude after we decided to pay for what we had received. Was going to leave a tip for the drinks. appetizer, and side salad. He said just go. We won't be back.
Waited 35 minutes for the first course. Salad was brought after main course presented. Talk 15 minutes for a water refill. Requested medium on steak was more well than medium. No apology or excuse given. Liked ambiance and seemed to be a town favorite. Perhaps just coincidence.
Left our evening less than romantic.
We will try again in a few months. Had hoped it would be a regular location.
Service was slow
Was in town for business and found this jewel. Beautiful evening sat on patio. Service and food great!
Meal and service was excellent. I enjoy having a local restaurant like this.
Terrible! Reservation was @ 6:15pm for 2. Server was nice but we waited 90 minutes to get our food. When it showed up we had already decided to leave. We took it in “to go” containers. If your kitchen can’t handle that many tables then you need to fix it. Won’t be going back. FAIL!
A Saturday day date! Enjoyed everything about the cellar!! Wi be back!
The food here is just not as good as it used to be. It is still a great environment, but they really need to up the game in the food quality.
Food was good. Took forever to get our food. First sat at a table we could not see menu. Asked to be moved....took forever with empty tables all around us. Thought we would never get our food. Was so noisy we couldn't carry on a conversation. Not planning on ever going back, but food was good
Excellent service and food, wine list exceptional.
Excellent food & live music
Perfect place for a fun Saturday night out with friends.
Food is delicious and fresh. Great ambience . Staff upbeat and superior service. Highly recommend.
I went to the Cellar for the first time for Easter Lunch, we actually were seated in the "bays/patio/bar" area. Although it was Easter and our reservation was for 11:30, it was clear they weren't ready for us or anyone for that matter. Tables & chairs were still stacked up, servers were still arriving. The manager (i think) walked by us several times and NEVER said "hello", "have you been greeted"... nothing. We waiting about 7 minutes and a server walked by saying, "oh this is my table!" She took our drink order and since it was a pre-fixed menu it was basic and there was nothing to do after that.
The very best and ultimately saving grace for this place was the $8 Strawberry Layer Cake- it was AMAZING!! I'd go back for that and only that!!
BTW: I get that you're a bar after 5pm... but on Easter, maybe make an exception and turn the music down or off or to something other than hard rock on Sunday morning... just sayin'.
Perfect location for date night, girls night, or a family dinner.
A restaurant changing its good fine dining menu to it's "outside " bar food menu on a Saturday night of a holiday weekend to see how it would be received is a recipe for disaster. On top of that the quality was way down to add insult to injury. Steak was blah, shrimp cooked to death, sliders mediocre. Waiter was good though. The mixed reviews of this place being on and off are accurate.
Great food again! Our third time eating at The Cellar. We will be back again!
Newnan’s best! The food is amazing and the ambiance is great and often withive music. And Kim is a great waitress!
It was a great experience and the food was great! The drinks were overpriced, even for simple pours. Other than that great food and music
We have been hear before and really enjoyed it. This visit was lacking. We brought our friends and it was a mediocre experience, they appeared short on staff and dinner took almost an hour to arrive. My friend asked where the food was several times and it made me regret our choice of restaurants. May return alone. * egg on my face*
Food was generally ok although the lamb dish was way too salty. No one checked the taste or it would have been noted. Pork chop cooked well but nothing out of the ordinary. Conch fritters were bland and certainly not worth the price. House wine overpriced for very ordinary wine. Meh. $80 for simple dinner at simple place. Chain place would have been almost as good for a lot less.
The only complaint on this evening was the wait time for our 2 person meal took about an hour after our appetizers. We had medium kabobs and salmon. Once it came to the table it tasted great!
Awesome experience had a great time! Love listening to The Band 2 Broke Kings! The beer choices were very very good. I will recommend to my friends and I'll be back.
Food was wonderful and highlight was Dean’s special banana cake for dessert!
Really enjoyed our experience here. We came here for a date night.
We ordered the shared cheese plate and dessert sampler as appetizers. The cheese plate was a typical cheese plate, good but not amazing. The dessert sampler was SO GOOD! All 3 desserts were amazing! For dinner I got shrimp and grits, the sauce was amazing! My husband got the kabobs. The kabobs were burnt but he ate it anyway. He said it's typically hard to get meat and veggie kabobs right so he wasn't upset. He did mention it to the waiter who immediately offered us a free dessert, our choice of apple crisps or cheesecake. He suggested the cheesecake since we had already had dessert and would be taking it home. It would keep better and didn't need to be warmed. So we picked the cheesecake and it was delicious!
The service was great. Our waiter was attentive as were other members of the staff who brought food or stopped by just to take plates and check on us.
Meat appetizer was great. Lamb entrée was good. Lamb risotto was missing risotto, mostly lamb meat. Trout entrée was terrible. It was over salted and almost inedible. They were out of most of their beer selection. We tried three before they actually had one we wanted. This continued as we tried to order more. Took over an hour to get our food from the time we sat down. This could be partially due to the fact it took about 20 minutes before we both actually had drinks we wanted between all the back and forth of what they had in stock. It became humorous by the end of the meal when our server offered us a molten chocolate... oh wait, they were out of that too. Between the drink fiasco, bad entrée, $97 bill, a broken booth seat, the extremely loud large party next to us, and the very unpleasant hour and a half we were there, we won't be back, ever. Overrated, overpriced and underwhelming.
Great staff great food. Good atmosphere and location.
Ok. The food for Valentine’s Day dinner was not to the level I expected for a $75 pp dinner. Service was great- and always has been. But the food was..., I am sorry to say, unremarkable. I’m wishing I had reserved for The Knife and Stone. .....next time .
We will be back . The meal was delicious . The service was very good.
The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious! We will be returning. A fabulous place for a special occasion dinner.
The Cellar took fabulous care of us for our Anniversary dinner. The food was stellar as always. Their chophouse chicken and steak are always a consistent, tasty meal.
My wife and I were celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary with our two children. I told my wife that it was the most enjoyable time I’ve had in a long time. The food was excellent and my son said it was the best steak he had ever eaten. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was perfect for the occasion. We will most definitely eat there again.
