Excellent service and amazing Filet Mignon. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The Chateaubriand, even though cooked to medium rare, was dry and clearly not prime quality. Vegetables were overdone and mushy. I would be embarrassed to serve them in my home. The Chocolate Soufflé was sweet but lacked any chocolate flavor. The salted caramel sauce was insipid and watery. The waiter seemed to struggle with the specials for the evening. The only saving
grace, the drinks were excellent. This is plainly NOT one of Orange County’s best restaurants. We will not be returning.
It was my first time visiting The Cellar and it was amazing! The food, service and just our overall experience. I brought my best friend here for her birthday and we really enjoyed everything.
A quiet space reflecting the description is just the choice if you are looking to dine quietly with mid-century lyrics playing in the background. The food is excellent if a bit limited on the menu, but it still is calling us back, as this was our first visit.
My wife (42 years married) and I had one of the finest dinners ever. 14 April 2018. The food, service was superb. She ordered the Duck, I had the chateaubriand with scallops. The only thought I could offer is don’t change the menu it doesn’t justify changing. Thank your staff for us, we will return soon.

Waiter was wonderful. Food was great. Salted carmel souffle to die for. And you've got to
try the lobster bisque.
I’ve always loved The Cellar. The food was wonderful. And so was the service.
First time at the Cellar. The reason we went there was we heard it could accommodated gluten free customers. Nice comfortable restaurant without a lot of noise. The food was very good and the servers were very attentive. Overall an excellent experience. The only complaint I have is my own fault. My wife ordered a Mint Julip type drink (can't remember the name) but it was a very smokey drink. Very good, but it killed my tastebuds for the wine which followed with dinner. (My bad)
My wife had the French onion soup which was very thick and rich. For the main course we decided to try the Chateaubriand for two. It was cooked medium rare and served with Roasted fingerling potatoes and carrots. Since my wife is gluten free she could not try the Demiglace which was excellent over the cuts but unfortunately one of the few items that was not gluten free. For desert I had the Vanilla Souffle with Grand Marnier Anglaise. Which was a perfect end to a fine meal. My wife had the Crem Brulee.
My recommendation for the gluten free crowd (or anyone else for that matter) as most of their menu is gluten free, without compromising taste.
Husbands 40th bday
Such wonderful service and ambiance. We had a fabulous time. We were seated in a special booth were Liz Taylor had been proposed too twice 😍
This was just the right spot for a date. My date absolutely loved it. Great ambience, food was amazing. I recommend the lamb. Patrick, out server was an absolute delight. Will most definitely be going back and recommend this place to any person on a date or special occasion
Our server, Andrew, was very helpful, attentive, and kind the whole night to our large party. The handcrafted cocktails were amazing. You can't even really taste the alcohol. I especially loved my scallops dish and the red snapper special. It was so nice of them to give a creme brulee to the birthday people in our group. The decor was so great especially since I love the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. :D Thank you so much for a wonderful night and memory.
This is the second time my wife and I visited the Cellar and each time is an outstanding experience. Their food is outstanding only exceeded by their service. The price is fair, but not somewhere we could afford to eat often, except for special occasions, still the food is great, and cannot wait to visit again.
Great ambiance as you are entering into a true cellar. Brace yourself for the dark, but your eyes slowly adjust to see a really nice restaurant with a medieval-antique-old english-cave. Not cheesy, just really different. Excellent service. Drinks and food also excellent. One member of the group said it was the best fish dish they ever had. We all had a long day in an industrial setting, so coming to the Cellar was a great way to change the scenery and have a great meal together.
Best dining experience I’ve ever had. The restaurant was beautiful. The service was second to none. The food was divine. This was definitely a night to remember.
This place was excellent! We came on a whim to try something new and were beyond impressed. Food was amazing. Cocktails were amazing. Service was amazing. Everything was amazing.
The Cellar was an awesome experience! The only low point was that the online menu was NOTHING like the one the night we dined there. The staff was so attentive and did apologize for the inconsistency between online and actual food options. Otherwise the meal was wonderful.
All the staff were very nice but the service couldn’t have been slower. We waited forever to get a menu, drinks, entrees, and the check.
No one came by in between.
Fantastic restaurant!! I'd been putting off going to this restaurant only because it's on my doorstep. Crazy really when I have a restaurant of this caliber so close to home.
I must speak highly of our waiter (Adrian). A young and very polite, knowledgeable attendant who enhanced our overall experience for our wedding anniversary dinner.
The food was delightful, and the location/décor is very authentic being in the cellar of an historic building in Fullerton downtown.
This is a must place to try for anyone who appreciates fine dining.
We had a very nice time and were well taken care of. One thing tho, there was a misunderstanding about the wine and Andrew didn't pick it up. Don wanted a glass not a whole bottle. We didn't realize it till it was too late.
There was no need to make a fuss about it but we will make sure the waiter understands the next time we come. Don and Barbara Clawson
The cocktails were excellent. The food was average. The service was average as well. I would go back for some appetizers and cocktails. The restaurant is small and cozy.
The food was AMAZING. Service was great. The only other comment I have is our food did take a very long time. It was nice not to be rushed, however we noticed that the table next to us did get their food sooner than us and they got there afterwards. So not sure if it was because we ordered a soup and there is a bit of a deliberate delay between the soup and main entree. Overall experience was just incredible. We were able to stay late and talk and catch up and didn't have to rush out.
Wonderful service, not too obtrusive and very knowledgable. Well tended to with friendly hostess. Food was excellent down to the rolls and decaf coffee. We had a wonderful cheese platter with lots of accompaniments that complimented the cheeses. Great dinner with inventive veggies. Drinks were all fab and so many to choose from!
Anniversary
Overall the food and service was amazing. Our server Mark was kind and well informed about the menu. Will definitely be going back.
Great food and surroundings
Simply fantastic. From the moment you step through the door, the service is impeccable. Food and drink choices are always above par. I’ll be back.
Old school fine dining establishment that did not disappoint. My parents have been coming here for decades and recommended it for an extra special date night. We had a wonderful evening. Incredible service, divine food, and a one of a kind environment. Truly a gem of Orange County. Will definitely be back.
Excellent food, awesome location. would highly recommend for dates and special occasions.
Great food, and top notch cocktails. But it was extremely overbooked and took two hours to get the main course, far too slow with a huge empty gap between second course and the main. Server was wonderful. Ambiance is creative yet contrived. Feels too expensive for what are fairly typical dishes, but they are high quality.
Pro tip: Don’t schedule more reservations than your kitchen can handle!
Awesome food and service!
Outstanding venue!!! Staff was on point with the professionalism and was very friendly which added so much to our first experience here at this establishment. The food was superb. Not for a cheap date. If you bring your lady/gentlemen here they better be special because the ambiance is perfect to set the mood and have great conversation. Very cozy and intimate. If you live in Fullerton and haven’t been here, you need to make your reservation and NOW!!!!!
Special Valentine’s Day menu was disappointing to say the least.
They should stay with their usual menu which is so much better.
We’ll return to the Cellar again but never during the week of Valentine’s Day.
Thanks to Adrian and the team at "The Cellar." Many years had passed since I had come here with our Meetup Group, friends and future amazing treasured friends/family in my life. Appreciate the time, care and attention to detail on a special occasion at "The Cellar." Adrian was superb in anticipating needs, listening and satisfying the diverse needs of our group (s). Red Roses on the table brought elegance to the dining room. Thanks.
Food was only OK. Don't know what they did to the potatoes. Waiter was forced-friendly. My wife had a Jack and soda; $12 for the Jack and $1 for the soda??
They charge too much for what you get.
The food was exquisite!! Definitely a must for anyone wanting a special, fine-dining experience!
The experience was wonderful
Extraordinary dinner.! Luis was our server and was extremely attentive without being hovering. Loved the starters; lobster bisque and escargot. Bisque was piping hot and creamy while escargot was served in a small copper pot with tender mushrooms and various breads.
Wine list was extensive and something for every price point. The dinner was generously portioned, we had the lamb shank and lobster thermidor. Finished with a shared soufflé with grand marnier sauce.
Outstanding experience!
The food and service were amazing. Generous portions and the most delicious desserts. Loved the staff and their thoughtful recommendations. Thank you for making our birthday celebration extra special and memorable.
A good, calm, classy type atmosphere.
You can tell that the food and drinks were made with passion.
Our server knew the right amount of time to be friendly and talk but would mostly leave you be to enjoy your cocktails and food. The server always had a close eye on things so she wouldn't be a bother to your table.
Had a wonderful time
The food and atmosphere were very good. Seemed like the wait staff was a little slow. The price of the meal was considerably higher than what was listed on their web site. However I would go there again for a special occasion.
