The Cellar - Corning Ratings and Reviews
It was amazing! The service was on point. Our server was not pushy or bothersome, but we never wanted for anything. The menu had so many good choices it was hard to decide. It was hard weather to go with the many mouth watering tapas or a cheese plate and then an entree. We finally settled on the Kobe beef. It melted in your mouth and the organic vegetables paired perfectly. We look forward to many returns.
The duck fat fries were very nice, my husband is from Belgium and he really liked them. The beet tapas was good. The Seafood Tagine was excellent and the Seafood Provencal good. The bone in 70 day aged ribeye was difficult to cut with a steak knife which was disappointing. The Mexican Chocolate Molten Cake had good flavor but was spicy enough to be overpowering even with the ice cream, 15 minutes later it still had residual heat on the tongue. It was more about the heat than accenting the chocolate. Over all the meal was more hype than substance. The service is impeccable and for a brief cocktail and bite I would recommend it. However our party of four did not feel as though we would return.
We LOVE The Cellar! We have been happy with it every time we go. The only thing that keeps us from going more often is the prices. But, one has to take into account that they serve healthy and local when they can. Which is why we do choose The Cellar. And the food is SO good!!!
We had a nice anniversary dinner at The Cellar where we enjoyed drinks and a variety of tapas in the cozy atmosphere. The four tapas we ordered were just the right amount of food. The poutine and jerk chicken skewers were fabulous! The masa tortillas were just ok (definitely wouldn’t order them again). All in all, The Cellar is a nice restaurant with a fun and adventurous menu that would certainly gain our business a second time.
Great spot for a group get together! They were able to accommodate a reservation for 8 with no issues. We met for drinks first in the bar (great beer list)and once seated we did a number of appetizers (poutine is AMAZING) and various small plates and entrees. We’d highly recommend!!!
The food & ambiance of The Cellar for our most recent meal was spectacular. I had a vendor in from out of town that wanted to have dinner and The Cellar was the first place I thought of. The Tapas we chose came out perfect and the entrees we chose we on point. Beer & spirits selection was great, but the wine pad technology is what really makes this place shine. I highly recommend The Cellar for your next meal, it is always my go to place!
We were very impressed with the quality and creativity of the food here. The menu is huge and so many things sounded good that it was hard to choose. We did tapas and chose 5 dishes for 2 of us. This turned out to be more food than we could eat (portions are generous) but we did not mind leftovers. Our favorite dish was the chi chi fries followed by the beef bulgogi tacos. Service was good on a busy Saturday night. Highly recommend this place if you are in Corning, feels like big city dining.
I ordered the Tajeen and it was the best meal that I have had in a while. The spices were delicious and all the ingredients went together with perfect synergy. The slider app was just ok. My husband enjoyed his entre, though I can't remember what he ordered. I don't like ordering wine by the glass because it is often not stored correctly. I ordered a glass of Cote de Rhone and it was was stale. For a wine bar, they should know to store opened bottles better.
First off, I want to state that we love the Cellar. The ambience and food were very good.
However, our waitress was not familiar enough with wines to make a recommendation given my choice of food nor did she seek any advice from those wait-staff or bar-staff who might.
Additionally, some of the sauce was dropped on the table by the server without coming back to clean the table off and the table was left that way throughout our entire meal. Additionally, our empty water glasses were never refilled.
Fantastic. What a gem. I’m so happy that we found this place. The food was excellent and so creative. Beer and wine offerings were just perfect. Our server, (sorry, I forgot his name. Red Mohawk) was very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed. We will be back the next time we’re in town. Which brings me to my only complaint, we live on Long Island. :(
Had dinner with 3 family members on a Monday night. The appetizers of lamb lollipops, poutine, mussels, and hummus were all excellent. Entrees included pumpkin ravioli, chicken & waffles, and a charcuterie plate. All were very tasty. Far more interesting/delicious dining experience than all the other restaurants I have tried on Market Street.
