This place is closed. We didn’t know until we actually got there and found a hand written note on the door. Would have been nice to know via this website!
Closed, We took a Uber there and they were closed for a remodel.
They were closed!!
This restaurant is closed. We showed up for our reservation, and were told it's changing management.
I wanted to give Cedar Social a try since the last time I was there was with a big group. The service was poor, food was okay, and drinks were a hit or miss. The only food I do recommend is the mac & cheese and the burger.
The waiter was exceptional! The food was great and drinks were awesome! Loved the cauliflower appetizer!
I absolutely love The Cedars Social! Every time we go I always have so much fun, the environment is always chill, and service is great!
We came for brunch, great comfort food! The bottomless mimosas were great as well. The vibe is retro and very laid back, great decor as well. Would definitely recommend for brunch, and good to go with a group.
Hostess was not very friendly. We got there early and sat at the bar. It was 15 min before we got a menu. Drinks were good. Food was terrible.
Not what it used to be.... miss the old staff and owners!
Good food and service over all. The room was freezing but luckily we were placed by one of the indoor fire-pits.
Go here and then go to the NYLO across the street afterwards
Impressive cocktails, food is unique and tasty
Will be back
The Cedar' Old Fashioned is one of my favorite cocktails in Dallas. A few friends stopped by for dinner on Saturday night. It was not too busy, only half the tables filled. They seated us by the bar which was loud due to a rowdy few. All I was thinking about was having my favorite drink. BUFFALO TRACE BOURBON, CANE SYRUP, BLACK WALNUT & CHERRY BITTERS, SMOKED CEDAR PLANK. They actually smoke the orange peel and capture the smoke with a cedar plank and serve it. It was brought to us. No cedar plank, no smoke, no fancy cherry. It was basically just an plain old fashioned. The menu has less items on it which did make the food come out faster. The burger was pretty good, not great. I did complain about the cocktail and they did take it off my bill, which was very nice. It is just that I came here for that one experience and was disappointed. The cocktails were the one thing that this place had going for itself and now I doubt I will give it another try. The good news is that the bourbon bar in the Statler is a new favorite with those craft cocktails I like so much.
If you like shrimp & grits, this is the place!
Delicious food, great atmosphere, friendly staff, outdoors was delightful
One of the worst dining experiences I think I've ever had. This was my anniversary, and after sitting for almost 20 minutes, no one had acknowledged me or my wife, no one had brought us even a glass of water. I asked to speak to a manager and their response to me was basically yeah, I'm sorry that really sucks. Absolutely horrible.
I have never done an OpenTable review before, but Friday night was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. My husband were there before a concert with plenty of time to spare. We sat for 20 minutes with no service, no water and no silverware. The table next to our confirmed they were having a similar experience.
When the server finally showed up we went ahead and ordered because we didn't want to wait again. After another 30 minutes they brought our first dish, mac and cheese. It was wrong, salty and dry.
We had to stand up and find someone to request both water and silverware.
Our other items, the meatballs, deviled eggs, fried chicken and truffle fries were so salty and mediocre in flavor, and took another 20 minutes.
The cocktails were decent and if we return it will only be to drink.
My favorite restaurant in downtown Dallas. I go whenever I am seeing a show at south side ballroom. It’s convenient. The service is friendly, very attentive but not hovering. The cocktails are inventive and tasty. My favorite meal is the Cedar house salad followed by the shrimp and grits. Dinner here will really get your night off to a great start! I highly recommend it.
This place has such a cool, hip vibe. If you are looking for a quiet place, this isn't it (as it has an energetic atmosphere). We didn't mind - we felt like locals dining here and the food was great!
Took some friends for a birthday brunch & hadn't ever been here before. We LOVED the 9.95 mimosas plus penny refills! The chicken biscuit and parmesan fries were delicious! The service was great & entire staff was really friendly! I will definitely be back to check out their dinner menu!
Just ok. I remember when going here was an over-the-top experience
I like to intrduce my friends to new places when they visit. I had not been to cedars social in a few months. Now I remember why I don't go. Its ALWAYS SOMETHING. They were out of everything I tried to order.
No olives or juice for a dirty martini.
No charcuterie board.. no limoncello for lemondrop martini and finally.
NO PORKCHOP. 7:30 on a friday night.
Wont be back and will never recommend it. They must be going out of business.
Very busy, waitress had to be reminded of our drink and dinner choices, waitress seemed frantically trying to keep up with the pace.
The service was way too slow. We arrived at 630p and did not get out until 8:15. We missed the start of the show we told our server we were seeing. The food was really good. Just make sure you have plenty of time.
Love this place! Super delicious food, we usually just order appetizers for the table to share and they are always amazing! Awesome drink menu as well!
Some of the best cocktails around. Love this place!
The food has gone downhill a bit. Nothing too impressive, except the truffle fries, cocktails, and the homemade ice cream never disappoint.
Great food and service. Took friends who have never been before and they both stated they are definitely going back. Excellent food, drinks, and service. One of my favorite places to dine in Dallas
A group of us got together to so see Blondie and Garbage at the South Side Ballroom which is conveniently located across the street from Cedars Social. Great place to dine prior to going to the concert. I would make reservations early though. All tables from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. were already reserved.
Food and drinks were really good. Service was way way too slow. The restaurant wasnt even half full and it took us (party of 3) over an hour and a half to get through and pay. The kitchen was much slower than the bar.
First time here won't be my last time! "Cocktail den" is the perfect description! Love everything about this place!
Mid-century decor and a nice mix of people (as you'd expect in South Side). Quality food and mixed drinks. Close to The Lorenzo Hotel.
Food was underwhelming and service was lacking. Just not way you expect compared to other brunch offering in Dallas. Not horrible but it would be a last resort.
Cool atmosphere. The food is really good!! It can get loud after... $10 bottomless mimosas!
I'm not sure what was going on with the A/C, but it was a little toasty in there. Take it with a grain a salt, because I was a little toasty too. Great drinks. Highly recommend, the Cat Named Joe.
Went for Mother's Day brunch. The food was underwhelming but not bad. Our server seemed new - we only saw him a couple times throughout the meal but many other members of the waitstaff stopped by often when they saw us looking for him. The ambiance is really nice and I would definitely come back for happy hour - but not quality enough food to go for a special occasion.
It was a great place to catch up with friends and have a good time. We even where given a drink on the house for our girls. That was very nice we love the place.
