We enjoyed our meal prior to the Angels game. The valet is $15 but that includes restaurant and game time. Our meal was excellent and the service friendly and attentive. Great selection of wines and specialty cocktails. Perfect start to an evening with a disappointing game score!
It was the most expensive meal that we could not eat. Everything tasted like salt and only salt! The manager whom was made aware of the situation didn't correct the situation or make an adjustment on the bill. From a restaurant I use to love to a restaturant I won't return to!
We went with our friends before the Angels game and to celebrate our friends' birthdays. The food was all delicious. I especially loved the chopped salad and Brussels sprouts. We also loved the fresh, hot rolls and creamy butter...most of us had two rolls because they were so good. Service is pretty quick because they are mindful that most people are heading to the game. I've only been to The Catch a few times, but we're always happy with the food and the service.
My cousin's and I took my brother there for his birthday. This time it was for lunch. We celebrated him here , for dinner, a couple of years ago for his 65th birthday and he really enjoyed it, so he picked it for this birthday. This time he got the 16 ounce New York steak and loved it! We have gone there for Father's Day, my daughter's birthday and evening dinners . We love the food, the service and the wide variety of menu items. It's on the higher scale as far as pricing, but everything is worth it.
From the moment our group entered the restaurant, we felt so welcomed and were immediately ushered to our table. We received our food within a short time, the food was delicious! Our group had not been together for quite sometime so we reminded seated long after eating just visiting and the staff was still attentive and in no hurry for us to leave. We would return because of the atmosphere and pleasant manner in which we were treated making us feel special. Thank You
Few misses for our first dinner there.
1. Wine not delivered until after dinner was served
2. Not served steak knife until asked
3. Did not acknowledge check-in and cancelled reservation with open table
4. To-go desserts was not delivered until asked after signing pay check
Restaurant tried to make up for it by taking off cost of wine and offering an extra desserts but not sufficient to make up for such an experience. To add to that, the server had visible tartar and bad breath. He also had to ask me the wine I ordered to get me the wine, when I mentioned that I didn't receive it.
They surely need to figure this one out to get a good name and solid future. Thanks for reading.
The waiter wanted to take our order before serving the wine, which took forever. The special requests for our food, salmon not blackened, Ahi cook medium, & dressing on the side, was not done and had to be sent back. We got there at 5:45, the show was at 8:00 and we weren't able to leave until 7:55. I've never had an over 2 hour dinner, from server & cook mistakes...
We were a party of 5 adults and a toddler. The toddler had the best overall meal. Those in the party that ordered fish waited almost an hour to be served a small filet of that was both cold and overcooked. The accompanying vegetables and potatos were also cold. Our son-in-law ordered steak medium rare and it was served well done. We sent back the steak and the next one was such a bad cut that 1/4 was inedible. They gave us a complimentary dessert for the problem with the steak order and we had been there so long we just said thank you, paid the check and left. This was an expensive dinner out and the next day I realized I should have told the manager about the problems with all of the meals. There was definitely something going wrong in the kitchen that night. I would not try The Catch again for dinner because it is pricey and not worth the risk of overpaying for bad meals again.
Since the menu change the choices for sides are all something that has broccoli in it..... why does there have to be tree items that can't changed in any way with out broccoli? Not everyone loves that green veggie. Why take away the Gratin Potatoes???? The most desired side dish was this dish. Bring it back I'm not the only one who loves this dish. Please it would be awesome!
I took my sister and her husband for their 28th wedding anniversary, our server Nicki was amazing and attentive. She was spot on when it came to meeting all our needs without intruding on us and our conversations. She made some recommendations and it was like she knew us forever, they were all prefect matches. I spent 17 years as a F&B Director and if I was still in the industry, I would have stolen her. But even better than the service, which was near impossible to beat, was the food. I had the Chilean Sea bass and all I can say is I heaven. My sister had the surf and turf and the steak was cooked to perfection, the lobster was huge and we all had an amazing time. Thank you Catch and Nicki, you all made my sister and her husbands night.
I have enjoyed The Catch for years. Apparently they have a new chef and/or management and definitely have changed the menu - not for the better. Their "specialty" of Sea Bass was the biggest disappointment of all, both in presentation and preparation - dry and unappealing. Many dishes have more spice than previously, and while I enjoy spice, it is not necessarily indicated on the menu and one member of our party could not eat much at all. They have dropped some of the great side dishes, and seem to be focusing more on the meat than on the fish, a strange thing to do when your name is "The Catch". This was our go to restaurant for fine fish and great meals, but we will not be back.
We've eaten at The Catch several times in both the old and new locations and always has a good experience. Saturday night was our anniversary, and while the staff was quick to wish us a happy one, this recent overall experience was disappointing. The food, as it's always bee, was good. However, the service lacked polish...slow, when the restaurant wasn't busy, failed to clear the table of crumbs, and seemed to be rushing us out the door without asking about coffee or dessert. I'll think twice about coming back again soon.
All in all, The Catch is a convenient location for business dinners. And being literally in the Anaheim Stadium parking lot, it allows us to schedule meetings over a fantastic dinner and then journey over to the stadium while using The Catch's convenient valet parking! Convenience and fun.
Sometimes the best way to judge an establishment is by their response to a problem ... in this case, my steak, ordered "medium" arrived well past "wood" and was wholly unacceptable. The steak was replaced in about ten minutes, and was cooked as ordered, but this of course put me ten minutes behind my business associates, which was awkward. As such, my rating of only "good" for this restaurant. Their meals seemed to be wholly satisfying to them. The response from both waitperson and manager was excellent and appropriate, with offer of a dessert or gift card (I accepted the latter). I would go again - mistakes happen - and overall the experience was positive.
My husband, four adult children and I planned a birthday dinner at the Catch. One son came from NYC, another from Tucson, for a special dinner. Our dinners arrived oddly, there were 2-3 of some side dishes, that were not ordered, and one of my sons did not receive his entree. We asked the waitress, and then the manager for his entree, and it arrived after everyone else was done and we were ready to pay.
The manager was apologetic and gave us a $20 gift certificate for future use.
The prices are high, in the $30-60 range.
Food was just OK, my sea bass was lukewarm at best.
Doubtful we will return, as we are all from OOT, and really cannot recommend this restaurant.
My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary. Absolutely wonderful choice. The restaurant itself is extremely large, with indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor is kind of half like a sports bar feel and half like an upscale restaurant feel, which is actually pretty nice because I feel like you can wear whatever you would like and not feel under or overdressed. We waiter was extremely helpful in explaining different drink and food options. Very knowledgeable! We ordered drinks, a salad to share, and we both ordered steaks and we shared the mashed potatoes. Let me tell you, the sides are definitely for 2 people! Steaks were cooked perfectly and everything was beyond expectation. We loved it and will be going back!
