Was disappointed in selection on menu. Was expecting more fish. We both settled for the $49 filet. Ordered no side dishes. The meat came with not even a sprig of parsley. Could have used the bread plate to serve filet. The side dishes and appetizers were expensive and little too quirky for our tastes. $150 got us 2 drinks, 1 soup, and 2 filets. Literally, 2 pieces of meat on a plate. Won't be going back.
They sat us at a perfect booth facing the windows as requested. Tried the Java the Hutt and it was delicious, even had a Darth Vader image stamped on the cup. The Sea Bass is our favorite go-to, but unfortunately, it’s changed a bit and not for the better. Prices seem to keep going up and portions keep getting smaller. Very convenient for the concert venue, but it’s getting hard to justify the prices.
I useally have seafood at this restaurant, but it was first time steak at that time.
Rib-eye was julcy and excellnt beyond steak
Been here several times.
Was disappointed in the sea bass this visit. (very salty)
Server seemed to get a disappointed attituded when some members of our group of 6 ordered from the casual menu rather than the more expensive formal menu. Server was not as personable and friendly as otyhers in past visits.
The fish and chips were fabulous. Cod was moist and garlic French fries delicious. Nitrogen dessert was beyond wonderful.
The Catch is our "go-to" place before Angel games and other events in the Platimum Triangle. The bar is vibrant with multiple TV monitors with and array of sporting events and the service is second-to-none! The Happy Hour drinks, beers and food are high end and the dinner menu offers everyone an option from seafood to dry-aged steaks. The valet allows you to dine and attend the game.
Average food preparation, inattentive service and pricey. I had eaten here before and thought this would be a great place to celebrate my Nephew's engagement. The menu is very "catchy" and out of the ordinary but I found the found to be average. I ordered the special and my halibut was dry and overcooked and the accompaniments bland. My husband ordered the Chilean Sea Bass which was very pricey which I don't mind as long as the meet exceeds expectations - and that was not the case. Getting drinks was lengthy and the service inattentive in spite of a low crowd. We were there on a Monday night. I was disappointed overall with our entire evening. The only exception was the desert which was the Nitrogen infused ice cream cookie. We shared with 4 forks.
The service was horrible.
Food would been a higher rating, however the Corn side we ordered was too spicy with an off flavor.
Would of liked a Traditional cream style corn
The service was amazing. I could not have been happier with the beautifully cook steak. It’s a bit pricey but it is worth every penny.
3rd time at The Catch. Service & Food is great, beautiful atmosphere also!
Rose was the best! So professional, helpful and pleasant!
Enjoyed the seafood tower. Very loud and noisy
Been there- Done that, nice place to Meet, Greet & Drink before a Game- Creative Neighborhood Bar, clean & comfortable, Food is Smaller sizes for Higher prices, everything is ala carte, so you have to order the main course and the sides are all extras - o.k. to share them, but, be prepared when the check comes- I imagine on less busy nights, service would be better- the wait staff seem to have training and care about you, BUT-
we were there on a very busy night and they needed some help as it took 2 1/2 hours to eat- not smiling!
Wonderful for biz dinner. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Would have appreciated option of a vegetable included with entree rather than as a side only. Service excellent. Fish was fresh and prepared perfectly.
Considering what this meal cost, overall I would rate it as disappointing. My meal with tip (1 person) was nearly $100 and all I had was soup, an 8oz. filet, mashed potatoes and a diet coke. Now if that filet had been melt-in-your-mouth delicious I would be totally ok with the cost, but honestly I've had better filets for 1/2 the price. The French onion soup was good not great. My dining companion (whose meal was similarly priced) said his salad was so overdressed he couldn't eat it, and his halibut very underwhelming. Neither of us would return.
Service was super amazing. Our Server, Justin was tops. The food really tasty everything from the appetizers to the mains.
The meals we had were excellent, our waiter Justin was awesome. I would however, like to see a little change up in the menu though.
Wonderful service off the bat.
Server was friendly and courteous.
Ambiance was perfect, subtle Sinatra in the background.
Food and dessert were remarkable!
Really enjoyed the sea bass. Try the bee sting for a refreshing drink.
Good food, good atmosphere and very romantic. This is a pretty fancy restaurant but you can go causual or dressed up. Pricy but not bad for a restaurant in this category.
Great chilean sea bass and glazed salmon. Cocktails were incredible qith great names.
Very expensive and menu selections not very appealing. Nice uncrowded atmosphere.
Always a consistent and quality experience. This visit was no different.
This place is the bees knees! Lovely spot with great staff and wonderful food. Great place to just relax - they never rush you. So glad we found it
Was a little disappointing. I was in Anaheim on business and went off the Open Table review. I live in New Orleans. Took several minutes to take our drink order from initial sitting and then get them. I don't know if the waiter was that busy or didn't know how to time visits between tables, and there were not many tables. Never asked if we wanted another drink or round. The Lobster Bisque was really good. My guests said the mushrooms were good too. The steak was really dry and not too flavorful. It seemed it wanted to be an upscale sports bar and have fine dining area. Unfortunately, the experience was OK.
We had such a great time. The food was outstanding and our server Nicki was wonderful.
Nice place that lets you feel you are away from the Disney throng! Enjoyed our dinner with only a few glitches.... the place gets noisy, the AC vent was over our booth which was a distraction while eating even for the guys at our table ( it was too cold)! I’d go back, enjoyed the calamari, the scallops and the sea bass. Coctail was not terrific given it was easy ( dirty martini.. hey.. you guys.. where are the olives? ). Server was lovely and ambiance was nice. The table next to us began to talk so loudly that we could not hear ourselves ( large group of 15 .. men/ women). Still.. it’s a good option for Anaheim.. !
Service was decent. I ordered the 8-oz Filet Mignon ($45.99), but the server brought me an 8-oz Top Sirlon. I told him this was not a Filet Mignon. The server insisted it was, but just butterflied.
I refused to argue with the server and create a scene in public. The steak was just an ordinary thin sliced Top Sirlon. A Filet Mignon butterflied would have looked like goggles without a frame. I was so very disappointed. I paid $45.99 for a Top Sirlon steak disguised as a Filet Mignon. My wife ordered the Chilean Sea Bass which was originally $40.99. The server said there was a special on the Chilean Sea Bass which included scallops and shrimp, so we bit. We were utterly shocked when we were charged $65.99 for the Chilean Sea Bass with the scallops and shrimp. I will never ever come here again nor recommend this place to anyone I know for fine dining. This place is a complete waste of money for dinner we received. Now I know why this restaurant wasn't even half filled for dining on a Saturday night. Over priced meals that are below average taste.
Very nice meal, great service and food
Upscale decor , excellent menu and service. I will go again.
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE BEEN TO THIS LOCATION SINCE IT WAS ON STATE COLLEGE. IT ABSOLUTELY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!!! MUCH BETTER THAN THE OLD LOCATION. FOOD WAS SUPERB!! I FREQUENT THE DEL FRISCO'S IN LAS VEGAS AND I HAVE TO SAY THAT THE CATCH REALLY OUT-DOES EVEN THAT RESTAURANT.
GREAT MEAL. GREAT STAFF. GREAT LOCATION. I CANNOT THINK OF A THING THAT COULD HAVE IMPROVED THIS EXPERIENCE!!!!!
It was an early delightful dinner for Valentine's Day and the food was exceptional as always. The salmon was mouth-watering and the menu anything but boring--seems like there is always something new to try.
Been to The Catch dozens of times. The service is great and the food is always terrific.
No more high end Newport Beach restaurants for us. The Catch has better food, better service, and ample parking if you don’t wish to valet. We had a very memorable Valentine’s Day dinner with impeccable service by Phillip. We were treated like royalty and served food fit for a king. Best restaurant in the OC for a special occasion. $$ but so worth it.
Had not been to The Catch in a long time and the night exceeded all expectations. My wife made reservations for a V-Day dinner out, which we hadn’t done in a few years due to all the craziness that typically accompanies the day when dining out. The crowd was manageable and service top notch. The Catch did have a special holiday menu but also, to our liking, had their standard menu too. The raw oysters were fresh and clean with great flavor, clam chowder thick and rich with a plenty of clams. A huge tasty wedge, seared ahi and the kimchi brussel sprouts were unbelievable!!! Thanks for a great night out - we’ll be back soon!
Valentine’s Day. Nice meal.
My overall experience was great. My only concern was the limited availability of seating for customers who arrive early. My reservation along with about eight others was for 5:00 which was before the restaurant opened. Only two people were able to be seated in the lobby area. In addition, the manager had a meeting with the waiters just before five which caused the customers to have to wait to be seated a few minutes after five after having to stand waiting for 5:00.
Steaks are a la carte. They came with absolutely nothing on the plate with them. Therefore the presentation was very poor. They should have been dressed up to look better. My steak (16oz ribeye) was ordered as medium well. The inside was fine but the outside was burnt. My wife’s was an 8oz sirloin ordered as medium well also. It was over cooked, dry, and tough. The side dish we had was a fried rice which was good. We brought the remainders of both steaks home. My son says mine was “okay” but my wife’s was terrible.
Phil, our sever was very good and professional and the woman tending bar was very good.
For the prices it was not a very good experience . We had been here for drinks prior to an Angel game and The Catch does that well. Too many other good choice in the general area to return for dinner. By the way, our daughter and husband have been here for dinner and they too thought it was very average.
Our server was great and attentive. My wife ordered a ribeye steak and felt that it lacked taste. She was disappointed. I really enjoyed a great cioppino! Love the restaurant frustrated that my wife did not enjoy her dinner.
