The Catch Ratings and Reviews
This place is fantastic we went there 1 year ago and had a great time.Remembered how good it was and made reservations. From the time we came in we were treated very well. The waiter did a great job our food was really good( Chilean sea bass) best I ever had.Over all, this place is the place to go to relax and enjoy the night.I will be back.
This is the worst experience I️ have had in a meal. Completely unorganized. From the time we sat down to the table ordered our drinks which came and were not cold, to the cocktail waitress whom was rude. To our waiter who was inattentive
And didn’t come back enough to check on us. I️ always leave more than 20% tip and tonight felt like leaving nothing. Our bill was near 300.00 we would have ordered desert and other drinks but our waiter was just not available. The only employees on point this evening were your busboys and bread waiter. Maybe they should switch positions.
It was chaotic. We had a 830 reservation and didn’t leave until 11 pm. Completely disappointed. I️ noticed that Rose was there tonight, but it didn’t seem to matter.
Your wait staff needs to be trained properly.
The food is just okay - very average! Also we didn’t care for the yellow-tail sashimi appetizer (too fishy tasting and the preparation was weird), we told our waiter and he argued with us and didn’t offer to take it off our bill. The hot sourdough rolls were very good....
Not The Catch we remember from many years ago. Seafood menu is limited; food was so-so for the higher prices. The vinaigrette dripped from my green salad and the kale greens served with the entree were way too salty. The broiled salmon, and the mashed potatoes with gravy, were divine; but too decadent to eat much. All in all, would probably opt for a different restaurant next time.
Dined on a slow Wednesday night but when we showed up there were big groups ordering at same time - the server Justin stopped by and said he was swamped but took our drink orders - then a few minutes later Michaela, the GM, stopped by to take our orders - great service. We were with a 2 year old and they were very quick to the table with munchies for him - great service. Food was great - cocktails great - ambience great. Had their "chowder" with lots of seafood and hearty broth. Steak outstanding. Steak meatball appetizer seemed to have some filler but the flavor was great. The wedge salad has blue cheese and a vinaigrette - the second was a bit overwhelming so I'd hold the vinagrette next time. Love the Catch.
We dined before a weekday Angels game and chose the dining room over the more casual bar to more comfortably visit with family members. We were promptly greeted by our server who was very attentive and described the drink and meal offerings. The beer, wine and drink choices were plentiful. We chose the restaurant's self described legendary Chilean sea bass which wax excellently prepared and seasoned. We also thoroughly enjoyed a relatively new menu item, Spicy Alaskan Chowder, which was a less spiced version of The Catch's Cioppino. This dish was certainly a hit and included generous portions of shrimp, crab claws, clams and fish all presented in a well balanced chowder with vegetables and rice accompaniment.
I'll be honest I have not been here in a while and it was a Monday night when we visited but that should not matter, I was really disappointed. We chose to sit on the patio and because of that, they cancelled my reservation on OpenTable which ended up making me lose my points. I did not cancel, as a matter of fact we dined and spent almost $500. Pretty sure I should get points for that! Service was super slow and the food was not great. The Yellowtail was super fishy, the pork was just ok, the chowder entree was not that great either. Overall, not how I remember that restaurant. I remember it being so much better in past visits.
I love the fact that Rose always calls to remind me to get there a lil early for my venue. I ordered the 1/2 chicken , corn and chorizo. Sorry, although I didn't eat the chorizo, and the corn had way too much butter or other type of oil added to it. U probably need to use butter to flavor the corn, but not add additional calories to a great vegetable. On a good note, the while wine reserve from Africa upheld it promise of being light and delicious.
Perfectly decent steaks and seafood (though surprisingly limited selection, given the name), though uninspired and overpriced. But what do you expect in Disneyland's backyard where the alternatives are fast food and upscale chains like Morton's? Best of a lot of bad choices.
The calamari was overdone and seemed a little stale for being "flash fried". The Buffalo wings were a little under-cooked. The drinks were fine.
The waitress, Amy, was very efficient and attentive.
Restaurant decor and ambience is good with very comfortable seating
We havent't been to the Catch for many months, but when our son and daughter-in-law wanted to eat out , it was a no brainer to recommend this restaurant. We knew that each of us could find a menu item that would be exactly what we were craving, from our sons steak (with Brussel sprouts and bacon!) to our daughters (huge!) lobster tail. There are so many areas of the restaurant that have different ambiances, from outdoor firepits to intimate indoor corners. Go enjoy this place!
I came for lunch at The Catch with 5 of my coworkers to celebrate 2 birthdays and a new employee. We were seated right away at a nice round table, which makes it easy to chat with everyone. Our server was wonderfully attentive, continually filling our glasses and bringing us necessary utensils, etc.
The food came very quickly and was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal and several of us took home leftovers.
After our meal, our server brought out 3 crème brulees, 2 that said "Happy Birthday" in chocolate on the plate, and one that said "Welcome". That was a really nice surprise.
I would recommend The Catch to anyone whether it be for business or for pleasure. They do a very good job in all areas.
Waiter was a disaster, told us the Prix-Fix menu isn't available when it is busy as it slows the kitchen down. My wife ordered a Prosecco and we were told they don't carry it so we ordered a Cointreau instead. Waiter came back with something other than Cointreau and when we asked him about it he replied "we don't carry Cointreau". So what did you bring us. Anyway we settled for a Cosmo, which was fine. Next, my wife being vegetarian, ordered a salad but asked to hold the bacon and add Avocado, the waiter brought the retailer salad, bacon included, no avocado. I ordered the signature Sea Bass, always a great dish at the Catch, but not today, smallest portion ever, I asked if they were running low and shared mine with another customer. Our friend ordered a second glass of Chardonnay, which never arrived, but did show up on the bill. Not a pleasant experience, first time for our friends and probably their last. Unfortunate, anyway, we walked over to the Grove and saw Jackson Brown play, which made for a great second half of the evening.
