Service was decent. I ordered the 8-oz Filet Mignon ($45.99), but the server brought me an 8-oz Top Sirlon. I told him this was not a Filet Mignon. The server insisted it was, but just butterflied.
I refused to argue with the server and create a scene in public. The steak was just an ordinary thin sliced Top Sirlon. A Filet Mignon butterflied would have looked like goggles without a frame. I was so very disappointed. I paid $45.99 for a Top Sirlon steak disguised as a Filet Mignon. My wife ordered the Chilean Sea Bass which was originally $40.99. The server said there was a special on the Chilean Sea Bass which included scallops and shrimp, so we bit. We were utterly shocked when we were charged $65.99 for the Chilean Sea Bass with the scallops and shrimp. I will never ever come here again nor recommend this place to anyone I know for fine dining. This place is a complete waste of money for dinner we received. Now I know why this restaurant wasn't even half filled for dining on a Saturday night. Over priced meals that are below average taste.

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE BEEN TO THIS LOCATION SINCE IT WAS ON STATE COLLEGE. IT ABSOLUTELY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!!! MUCH BETTER THAN THE OLD LOCATION. FOOD WAS SUPERB!! I FREQUENT THE DEL FRISCO'S IN LAS VEGAS AND I HAVE TO SAY THAT THE CATCH REALLY OUT-DOES EVEN THAT RESTAURANT.
GREAT MEAL. GREAT STAFF. GREAT LOCATION. I CANNOT THINK OF A THING THAT COULD HAVE IMPROVED THIS EXPERIENCE!!!!!

No more high end Newport Beach restaurants for us. The Catch has better food, better service, and ample parking if you don’t wish to valet. We had a very memorable Valentine’s Day dinner with impeccable service by Phillip. We were treated like royalty and served food fit for a king. Best restaurant in the OC for a special occasion. $$ but so worth it.

Had not been to The Catch in a long time and the night exceeded all expectations. My wife made reservations for a V-Day dinner out, which we hadn’t done in a few years due to all the craziness that typically accompanies the day when dining out. The crowd was manageable and service top notch. The Catch did have a special holiday menu but also, to our liking, had their standard menu too. The raw oysters were fresh and clean with great flavor, clam chowder thick and rich with a plenty of clams. A huge tasty wedge, seared ahi and the kimchi brussel sprouts were unbelievable!!! Thanks for a great night out - we’ll be back soon!

My overall experience was great. My only concern was the limited availability of seating for customers who arrive early. My reservation along with about eight others was for 5:00 which was before the restaurant opened. Only two people were able to be seated in the lobby area. In addition, the manager had a meeting with the waiters just before five which caused the customers to have to wait to be seated a few minutes after five after having to stand waiting for 5:00.

Steaks are a la carte. They came with absolutely nothing on the plate with them. Therefore the presentation was very poor. They should have been dressed up to look better. My steak (16oz ribeye) was ordered as medium well. The inside was fine but the outside was burnt. My wife’s was an 8oz sirloin ordered as medium well also. It was over cooked, dry, and tough. The side dish we had was a fried rice which was good. We brought the remainders of both steaks home. My son says mine was “okay” but my wife’s was terrible.
Phil, our sever was very good and professional and the woman tending bar was very good.
For the prices it was not a very good experience . We had been here for drinks prior to an Angel game and The Catch does that well. Too many other good choice in the general area to return for dinner. By the way, our daughter and husband have been here for dinner and they too thought it was very average.
