Chef/Owner Will Mathias and his wife Denie take pride in welcoming you to their warm, inviting restaurant in the heart of Bucks County. The menus reveal the chef's Southern roots, classical training, and familiarity with the diversity and variety of American regional cuisine. I was searching for that special birthday culinary experience and I knew I could trust Carversville Inn to provide the ambience, charm, service, and most notably, the epicurean delight I sought. It far exceeded my expectations and my guest's. We will return!
We went to the Carversville Inn for my wife's birthday last weekend (just before Christmas). This typically a very challenging time of year for restaurants to handle the holiday crowd. They did a great job. Our food was outstanding. I had the Crab Cakes which were seasoned to perfection and nice and hot. My wife had the Duck which was also done perfectly. The service was not up to the Carversville Inn's usual standards, but that was understandable due to the large number of folks there on the Saturday before Christmas.
The food was excellent. We had a cozy table by the fireplace that was very cute. The wait staff were polite and service overall was excellent. I had the scallop appetizer and salmon for dinner. I would get both again.
Highly recommend for romantic nights out or even girls night which is what this night was for me.
First time to this quiet, quaint hamlet restuarant. Cozy table by the fireplace with Christmas decorations. Menu had many good choices plus the evenings specials. Our server was nice, the bus staff efficient and the kitchen extremely accomodating as we enjoyed five courses (seven dishes); each crescendoed in complexity.
Outstanding meal; we'll be back!
Haven’t been in a number of years. The menu looks good enough but the food was BAD. Tomato bisque was marinara sauce. The salmon was tasteless. Sent a dried out burnt stuffing Peking duck back only to be replaced with ice cold centered scallops. Will never go back.
We have been going to Carversville Inn for around 35 years. nI the past few years it has simply "fallen apart." I'm not sure they have even changed their main dinner menu in 5 years. I always loved getting the Peking Duck which "was" a signature dish there. However, the last two times I have gotten it, it was charred and dry both times. Never again ! No more Carversville Inn for us, as there are way too many good restaurants in Bucks Co. to choose from.
We just love this place. It's in a great setting of the old Stone house and the food is just absolutely amazing. We you're done you just want to plan your next time there. It's truly a local gem and my favorite place to relax and enjoy terrific cuisine in the coziest setting. Love it.
After ordering onion soup, I received a cream soup with crab. My husband and I ordered the
ceviche which turned out to be pickled fish, overwhelmingly vinegary. Fish in ceviche needs lime juice not vinegar. The octopus was tough and totally inedible. My husband's entree of salmon was dry and overcooked. The oil on my caesar salad was of a poor quality.
My husband and I enjoyed a nice dinner for our anniversary. The appetizers were excellent followed by our tasty salads. We both had steaks and they were so tender. Compliments to the Chef!! The wait staff was very responsive too. We already recommended the Carversville Inn to a few friends!
This is a quaint but expensive spot for dinner. The historic building is cute, and the bar area is very nice - I'd go back for a drink. We each had an appetizer and an entree (short ribs for my husband, which we average, and Zarzuela for me which was full of seafood but a bit watery), and an inexpensive bottle of wine. The bill before tip was approximately $130 - which I think is a bit much.
